i know the radius is small. but earth is a melee based set so i figured that wouldn't mean as much. is that logic too off or no?
  2. i'm wondering if anyone has tried this build before. i was pondering about the idea of having hotfeet, mudpots and world of confusion running at the same time. i calculated about 63 damage per tick between the 3, plus procs would be a plus.

i know it will very endurance heavy but i was thinking maybe the Cardiac Alpha slot could help along side of some nice set bonuses and accolades.

is it worth it to run all 3 or is the endurance too much of a headache for the damage?
  3. the bane is the truth hands down IMO. not only can the bane play at every level, (steath, crits, holds, range, melee, debuffs, team buffs, and pets) but it has a fun factor and playstyle thats packed into one character.

now i'm not saying that a bane will out-tank this, or out-debuff that. but at the same time... why would it have too? the bane is that toon that does nothing the best, but everything well. the only things that would make the bane complete would be a self heal, DDR, or scaling resistance. also to cut down on the casting times.

now about crabs... what can i say? i don't like them. i know some people swear by them. i even can agree that they can have amazing surivability. but i just can't get with thier offense to save my life. its like AoE overkill and nothing else. on the plus side it can be team friendly with the buffs and pets, but i can't get into the one playstyle it seem to offer. i've tried many times but i guess it's not for me. plus i hate that backpack issue.

i will add that just because i feel the bane is better, that doesn't make it true. it's just true for me.
  4. yes it does. i tested this out today. my aid self was doing 423 heal. and got bumped up to 453. my Health regen'd at +40%, and got bumped up to +53%.
  5. SoA's. i use my Bane a lot and run double Assault and Maneuvers. it's cool to have the added def. plus VG stacks well.

Next would be a Kin Corr. it's amazing when i have my damage capped and hit the mob with a crit from crowd control or shatter.

in terms of players, i like playing with mature players. nothing ticks me off more than someone cursing up a storm or speaking on rated X content. i hate to listen to 2 players constantly bicker back in forth.
  6. i think anything that has to do with the bane spider. But mainly Surveillance. to my knowledge, it's the only power that gives full details on an enemies specific stats. and the debuffs are amazing to top it off.

    claws/??

i really wanna give claws a shot but i'm torn on what secondary to pick. i know that /wp is nice. but i have a dm/ em/ and ss/ willpower brute. but that being said, i won't rule /wp out if it'll make for more fun. i was kinda thinking of a secondary with a nice damage aura since i know claws could run it well with it's low endurance usage.

so that leaves /elec, /fire, and /dark. dark is the more complicated one i know, and electric gives a nice recharge bonus, but fire with it's new changes seems tempting too.

anyone have experience with any of these?
  8. earth/earth might be CoV's best kept secret. for people like me that like to smash and dominate and still have many options to add to your game, rather it be teaming, pvp'ing, farming, or soloing... this combo gets it done.

i recently hit lvl 50 on my Mids build so i wanted to give it a test run after spending all day crafting. currently i have 2 sets missing from the final pre-planned build, but it's still perma with 170% +rech with Hasten having a 6 sec cool-down. S/L def is at 38.5%.

with those numbers i did a test run and solo farmed some lvl 50 LTs (0+/x8)... easy enough, so then i jumped on a tough lvl 53 AE Farm with two very good Brutes. i held my own very well to my surprise. next i was able to tank an AE farm with lvl 51 Lts, ambush and all(+1/x8).

i knew earth would be fun, but i didn't realize it would be so powerful too. which made me think... i wonder how powerful? i already feel like a mini brute. and i held my own along side a ss/wp and ss/fire brute in a farm trio. i wonder if i can tank lvl 54's just as well too? that has yet to be seen. but i did make another build in mids that has me drooling to finish.

this build screams Perma-Brute. with 55 res S/L, 38.4 def S/L (44 def to S/L w/ powerboost. taking the alpha). plus Dark Obliteration has a -8.55 to-hit debuff, and when needed, earthquake has a -15 to-hit debuff. throw in the fact that Stalagmites has a proc for 33% to-hit debuff, and you reach levels equivalent or better than that of personal force field.

here's the build...although it's costly, the only i'd need to get to make it work are the Kinetic Combat Sets. which i plan on getting via tickets and sells.

yeah this is a good point... i don't see why they shouldn't be the same.

no doubt PS is still the truth when it comes to doms' AoE... i'm just saying that Fissure isn't trailing that far behind in terms of being a let down of a tier 9 pwr.
  11. yeah fissure my not not like much in terms of damage, but when you factor in that it has a stun, a knockdown, and 2.1 cast time... verses to just a knockdown and 3.3 cast time. plus it comes back 2 secs faster.

when you compare it to a dominate power like psychic shockwave, it hold up fairly well

PS: 70 base dmg; 15ft radius; 18.5 end; 20sec rech; 1.97 cast; effects= stun, -rech
Fis: 61.8 base dmg; 10ft radius; 15.2 end cost; 16sec rech; 2.1 cast; effects= stun, knockdown.

not bad imo. not too mention you can put some nice procs in it w/o gimping the power.

also, on an earth/earth it couples well with Stalagmites and earthquake.

    ok that makes sense....

so what i did was put the kinetic crash set into Stone Spears and put an Achilles Proc into Earthquake.
  13. ok, so basically what the title says. to give you an ideal of what i'm working with..here's what i have available, minus 1 of the LoTG's and Kinetic Combats sets.

I'm aiming for good def and permadom. I really don't care for a travel power because i use Ninja Run and the Raptor packs for getting around. I mainly PvE and this Build isn't for farming either. I just wanna have brute/dom feel, and be able to play the toon to it's best ablility.

here's what i came up with so far...

  14. here's my current build. it's very effective, cheap, and with room to grow. honestly after playing this build, i feel god-like. farming lvl 54 bosses with the ease. i could easily put more money into it but it almost feels pointless.

only things that are pricey is the 1 LoTG and 1 Numina rec/regen. i got those via tickets. but neither are necessary to be effective. they just help. and the 2 purple sets are the cheapest out there.

one last thing. just remember it's much cheaper to buy recipes and create verses to buying created IO's. and i'd suggest obtaining the rare salvage via tickets and not the 1mil+ infamy they're running now. that should save you a lot. creating will be more time consuming but worth it. you can get this build for about 200mil too.

I'm not a fan of Plant/Psy. Seeds of Confusion is the most powerful skill in the set-- why would you want to lower enemy recharge by 50% with every application of PSW? Recharge reduction is basically causing your confused enemies to do less damage to each other. That's not synery, but disruption.

Ice/Psi and Earth/Psi get my vote here, emphasis on Ice for huge synergy on -recharge.

    [/ QUOTE ]

well, first of all you don't want the confused enemies to kill each other. that means less xp and less inf. you just want them NOT to attack you, and to make your job faster and safer.

the -recharge in ice/ is pointless unless the enemies aren't controlled anymore, which doesn't happen with plant/. there isn't a point from the first attack that you DON'T have a mob confused or held. only way i could see that -rech helping is during pvp or an av fight. but not farming.
  16. well i myself have a lvl 50 permadom plant/psi. can't begin to tell you how effective it is. you're right about it being cheap to perma. the -def in earth could be compared to SoC as doing the same in terms of damage dealing.

the little "xp-stealing" is nothing when you factor in the safety, fast animation, cheap purple, rarely resisted mez, super fast recharge, and very cheap purple IO set or Seeds of Confusion.

i use a controller (logitech ps2 version) so it's a little more work to play with earth's/ location aoe's anyway.
