Even after travel became much easier the Taxibots were still great for their badge tours.

Yeah, this would have been a great time for a new Coralax costume power, like the Coralax Leaders you see in Vincent Ross's arc. That would probably be the first costume power I would be tempted to buy.

Quote:This is a good point. However by default Mids will show you the full defense value of stealth, if you want to see how much it gives when in combat you'll need to change a setting.Mid's Hero Designer is also an excellent resource for power data, and is somewhat more user-friendly than City of Data, in my opinion.
First go to Options->Configuration. Then click on the Effects & Maths tab. On the right you'll see a listbox with a bunch of checkboxes in it. If you check the box next to "Attacked" then Mids will always give you the values you will see when in combat. -

"Using Fire Sword" YEAH I KNOW! -
City of Data is a good place to look at lots of numbers. The defense numbers are different for some archtypes so you'll need to go to the specific AT you're interested in.

Would it be possible to get a fur-lined cape? I'm thinking something that would match the barbarian set. Sort of like what this guy is wearing:

Honestly I think Blue Steel should be handing out the Clockwork task force. I mean, he's the one that beat a teenager to death and created the Clockwork King in the first place.

With double XP we had a full team for both the First Treespec and the Renault runs. Fun and XP were had by all.

Next up on the List is the Mender Tesseract Strike Force (25+) and the Mender Lazarus Strike Force (30+). Both start in Villain Ouroboros and can usually be done within 1 hour. So for plenty of time travel, politicians, and nazis meet up in Ouro next Sunday, August 19th at 5pm PDT/8pm EDT! -
From the Tarikoss SF, read the "Notes on the Ritual" clue.

Quote:You're thinking of the Elite Ranger. The regular Ranger doesn't have the back piece. Not quite-- the Rangers have that incredibly detailed chest piece with the antennae on the back.
Which I really wish we had access to. -
Actually you can replicate both costumes perfectly with costume parts that are free to VIPs.

Quote:It seems more like buying a new car, realizing it's not *quite* what you wanted in a dream car, and then asking the car makers if they could make the changes that would make it your dream car for the next car that you buy.I didn't make anything up. Whether it's a question or a demand is irrelevant. It's ungrateful either way. If your friend/wife/husband/parent/bum on the street gave you a brand new car, and you said "thanks for all the new car, can you make it better?" doesn't that seem ungrateful to you? At all?

Quote:I always see the power pools as making you better than an average human being. Steel Rook's power armor doesn't get "tired" as fast as an average human would get tired right? Bam, there's your stamina. From that point of view the fitness pool wouldn't represent the paralyzed man's physical state but rather the abilities of the armor compared to the average human.I remember a colourful character I used to team with back in the day. He was pretty eager to power-game, so when he figured out Stamina is good, he tried to get me to take it. Me, being famously stubborn, argued that the Steel Rook is just a guy in power armour who doesn't need to be fit since the suit does all the physical activity. In fact, the Rook's original bio had the man crippled and paralysed. My acquaintance then argued that "Just say it's better batteries or something!"

And then issue 24 comes out and you end up wanting to respec to make it even better.

Quote:Honestly I think an MM that can reliably keep it's pets in one place would be OP. Dumb pet AI is the single most limiting factor that MMs have to face.I'd make the armor bits into "pets". With an MM as a base, you still have a low base hp and whatever else. But, the trick is, that what most of the enemies are going to end up shooting at, is the "armor" pets as opposed to you. Plus, as the pets auto-fire, that would leave you to move freely. No rooting necessary, just direct those pets to fire at whoever and watch the bodies pile up. And to top it off, when a pet dies/armor piece gets blown up? You just summon a replacement.
-
I'd make a huntsman SoA. It's probably the least constrained concept-wise VEAT. You're basically just someone with a gun. Power armor would be a costume thing, just like any armor you wear in this game. The real downside for concept is having to deal with the arachnos costume in the early levels.

I think it's valid to compare a powerset to the perceived best. Basically the idea wouldn't be to see if the set can match the best but rather to see how close it comes to the best. For example, if a new ranged powerset comes out and when compared to fire blast it's shown to do 15%* less damage that gives people a good reference point. I could look at what the set offers besides damage and decide if it's worth trading 15% damage.
But that's only when you're concerned about performance. If your main concern is concept and the powerset fulfills that then you don't even need to read a comparison thread to decide to use it. At that point people only read comparison threads to either feel good about their choice or find out if they need to start asking for buffs to the set.
*I'm just making up random numbers here. -

Quote:To be fair that change was made specifically because both prereqs required a teammate in order to be used, so if you were solo you couldn't use them even if you wanted to. For the fighting pool you can use the prereqs while solo as much as you want, it's just that everyone except low level controllers has better options. Much better options.Re: The "Medicine Pool as Justification for Useless Prerequisites" tangent:
Medicine- Stimulant is changed to Injection, is no longer interruptable and can be used on both allies and foes. When used on an ally this has its normal effect. When used on a foe it debuffs their Recharge, Damage and To Hit.
- Field Medic added as Fifth Power, a click power that improves the effectiveness of your heals and decreases your resistance to healing (so that heals done to you are more effective). In addition if you own Field Medic Aid Other and Aid Self get a bonus:
- Aid Other is uninterruptible
- Aid Self gives an Endurance Over Time effect
Useless pool power prerequisites have been addressed in every pool except for Fighting in Issue 24. -
Since you're F2P I'd suggest Energy Aura since you won't be able to use IOs.

I'm really looking forward to this set. I have an EM/EA brute that I'll probably reroll as Psi/EA. I know I'm in the minority in thinking that EM isn't actually a bad set, but I will say that it's not a fun set, at least for me.

I like running a Renault SF, lots of mobs along the way and that final room with all the coralax ambushes is great for xp.

Quote:Oh I agree, I'd love to see the attacks be decent. But my idea was more about turning the first 2 attacks into something similar to divine avalanche when you take tough and weave. It would probably be OP to make the def buff as strong as divine avalanche but the fact that it would also give some resistance would probably make up for it. If all you want from the pool is something to help your survivability then at least the attack could help that if you wanted. But Tough/Weave are really the sought after powers. All that does is say "Here get a bonus for taking Tough/Weave by taking a power you had to take anyways."
Even if it's something as simple as DDR.
You're basically giving a bonus for something they had to take anyways.
The synergy they were going for with the attacks could at least give people the idea of "Hmmm...maybe I'll use the attacks"
Sadly, it would just be an idea without decent damage to back them up though. -
Required teaming has actually been the downfall of a few MMOs. Teaming should be user friendly and offer increased rewards, but it should never be a requirement. (I don't mean EVERYTHING should be available solo, just that you shouldn't hit a brick wall with your character's progress if you don't want to team.)
