I've noticed that the power tray icon recycles before the power is actually ready.
I am only up to lvl 5 but so far, I really like the set. I am wondering, as others, if the end transference will be slottable enough for me to skip Stamina...
[/ QUOTE ]
Nope, I even put recharges in the attacks hoping to get more end drain attempts. No avoiding Stamina here (but elec shields have 2 end reducing/recovering powers). -
[ QUOTE ]
I lost ALL interest in this set by level 2. It uses the superstrength animations for your first two attacks.
Words cannot capture how much I loath those animations. I was expecting something fast, like on that Korean release video. It's bad enough the set not a mixture of kicks and punches, but body blows and overhand clubs make it just laughable visually.
If power customization ends up meaning we can choose different animations, I'll try it then.
[/ QUOTE ]
Some dev slacker(s) didnt want to make a new animation. I'm not crazy about the animations either. Even in the SS pool, really. And the RED color? What's with that? Can we have "realistic" lightning colors please? I don't want to have to design costumes around black and red *again*. -

Tried a elec/elec brute...and from what I saw before any slotting I was not impressed...might get better at higher levels but at this level I couldnt even take out one LT and a minion....very sad...not sure if elec brute is gonna be for me.
[/ QUOTE ]
did you remember to attack? I took on three 1+ minions and one 1+ LT was close but i got them all.
Anyone else thing Jacobs ladders cone is very very small? I can only catch 2 of them in there.
[/ QUOTE ]
Might just be shallow like the sword/katana 3rd power (slice?). -

i like! although, i feel like CB's animation has been slowed slightly. maybe it's just in my head.
[/ QUOTE ]
The animation is certainly different.
Charged Brawl for blasters uses brawl's animation.
Charged Brawl for brutes uses Jab's animation.
Personally, I like brawl better.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, brawl good. Jab bad. -

Why does it have to have knockback resistance? WHy does it have to have immobilize resistance? Shouldn't the set have inherent weaknesses that you could choose to cover with pools or ignore and play to the sets strength? Unlike ALL of the other sets it has -end resistance, thats its unique feature. They may make a change to the way end drain works to make this set look appealing. Not every defensive needs immobilize and knockback resist. That is what we have pools for. If they did have it inherently, this set would be better than Fire Aura in terms of protection in ALL regards, Fire doesnt get a move to speed them up it gets a Tanking move which we already proved brutes cannot do. Burn doesnt help fury and it doesnt have a god mode clicky that you can use anytime. you have to die first.
Stop whining about what you dont get, and look at what you do get.
-end resist, slow resist, +recharge speed, +running speed, Unstoppable like power, no self heal kinda sucks but aid other will work fine, we get a damage aura similar to Fire whihc is affected by fury but doesnt increase fury on its own, it is the ONLY set toget TP resistance, and an endurance recovery move.
I do feel you guys on the useless passive it seems fire suffers from this as well.
They could change it to a clicky knockback immob protection, like a inherant breakfree power that lasts for like 10 seconds or something with a 30 sec cooldown could be cool but it only works for Knockback and Immob. Just my thoughts on it.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think you're missing the point. The benefits you tout above do NOT outweigh the disadvantages of all of the holes and the cost of remediation of the holes is too great. That's the whole point here, IMO. -
[ QUOTE ]
I'd take it without the +regen...I just would like to not be falling down alot, and I really dislike super jump
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't necessarily dislike SJ, I just hate being forced into Leaping in order to make a viable build for my Brute/Tank. Defense powers belong in such a pool. Travel powers belong in a separate pool. -
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
just add +Res Knockbac, -Fly, -Jump to grounded =\ plzthxkluvubai
[/ QUOTE ]
Given that Grounded is an auto power that you can't turn off, I think that's a really bad idea to restrict your travel options in such a way.
[/ QUOTE ]
Now that makes Elec Brutes Superspeeders or Teleporters. -
[ QUOTE ]
i would've liked yellow
[/ QUOTE ]
Can't we have a pretty rainbow color effect? Or maybe some mixed pastels? -

Current holes are:
- No immobilize protection
- No knockback protection
- No self-heal/or/ hp boost
[/ QUOTE ]
I guess if you never play anything but tanks an maybe scrappers you see these as holes...
I'm mostly Defenders an Corruptors...these are pretty normal for me. Though I could swear I saw a power listing Immob Res...
No Knockback? No problem. I PvP a fair bit nowadays and in both PvP and PvE I get hit alot since Sleet an Blizz tend to piss everything off...On my corruptor I almost never get knockback...
I think this is the perfect set for my playstyle since I'm used to keeping a few green an breaks in my trays...
And with the Quickness-esque power I might just be able to get by w/o Swift and Recharge enhancers in some of my powers...
[/ QUOTE ]
You can't compare Brutes/Tanks/Scrappers to Defenders/Corrupters. Apples and Oranges my friend. The former have resists and defense. The latter deal with damage by DEATH. Get real. -
[ QUOTE ]
I don't see anything glaring so far that seems wrong power-wise, but for the love of god, can Lightning Field's graphics get toned down?
I didn't think it was possible to make an aura that was more eye-searing and headache-inducing than Blazing Aura, but Lightning Field definitely is. It's -painful- to keep on, and that's even with a massively reduced particle count.
[/ QUOTE ]
Agreed about Lightning Field, in all it's AT/Powerset incarnations. Blazing Aura is tame man compared to the annoying shiny-ness that is Fortitude though... -
[ QUOTE ]
You can add slow resist and -recharge resist to that list as well, as well as very above average energy resist
[/ QUOTE ]
slow and recharge resist...hmmm...isn't that called...
Hasten!? -
[ QUOTE ]
they need a new power similar to dull pain like..
Defibulator - Enter your whole body in a suspended state of shock, causing you to feel numb and far less pain from injury. Your overall hit points are increased. (also a heal like Dull Pain)
[/ QUOTE ]
or maybe we could call it...
Defibrillator? -
[ QUOTE ]
i'd rather swap the power drain to 28 and get something different at 35
[/ QUOTE ]
Second the motion!
/agree -
[ QUOTE ]
the imm i can mostly handly (seeing that we get a tp type attack, which will bypass imm)
but seriously...NO knockback protection?
have you SERIOUSLY thought about pve into this? cause more than HALF of what we fight used KB, pvp as well for ice types and assault blaster/corruptors
let me make some points...
Circle of Thorns...Ruin Mages plant KB types 90-100% of the time
Devouring Earth, some of their pets (DE dropings) have KB
Longbow, grenaders have KB
i can go on and on about the types, what i'm pointing out is BRUTES need KB protection to do their brutish needs, we shouldn't have to rely on acrobatics, it's WEAK skill ONLY for total KB protection, it's a waste simply put, so DONT make us take something we just can simply have in a defensive toggle (in pvp can drop it, and blappers LOVE to drop toggles so just add it in!!)
in conclusion, i want a brute if it's not gonna have ANY healing power, to not be on it's rear half the time and get killed cause of it, it's on test, can change it, so PLEASE do so!
[/ QUOTE ]
Yah, Dark Armor may be *really* end heavy but at least it has a heal. We don't need another armor set that all you do is manage toggles all day. -
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
I don't see any mediocrity for pve. I see a set that does outstanding in pve and pvp so long as you fill the holes.
[/ QUOTE ]
As much as I hate repeating myself over and over again, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you weren't a part of the last Electric Brute 'debate' thread.
You see, it's the holes that are the problem. There are too many of them. This set was balanced around power pools. You know, those "optional" things that we're not supposed to be required to take in order to "do our job."
Will an Electric Brute be able to do it's job without the three hole-filling PPs you mentioned? Sorta. Sure, I guess. Will it be [censored] annoying as all hell? Subjective, but you'll get a healthy Yes from me. I don't want to take Leaping. I don't want to take Aid Self. I really don't want to take Fighting.
I want to take Flight, SS and Stamina. That's it. Why should I be penalized so much for not filling these arbitrary and unoriginal holes?
Why are we focused on the holes? Because they don't balance with the benefits. I'm not ignoring them. I'm well aware that they're there. However, I don't think they're enough. Situational mezz protection does not a well-rounded set make.

Well said. -
[ QUOTE ]
Mediocrity in PvE for viability in PvP. Sad, really.
[/ QUOTE ]
What did you expect? Cryptic took a great PvE game and then futzed with it and caused us a lot of grief just to accommodate a very small percentage of players who actually give a hoot about PvP or participate in it.
PvP needs to go away. -
[ QUOTE ]
just tested the smashing/lethal resistance on my elec/elec brute:
longbow brawl, no shield: 2.42 damage
longbow brawl, w/ shield: 1.78 damage
shield base resist: 26%
shield max (3 SOs) resist: 40%
color me unimpressed. we get no immobilize protection, no knockback protection, and no self heal, and still fall about 10% short of invulnerability to the most prevalent damage types?
i'm going to go test conductive shield as soon as i get back on test (just got dc'ed).
[/ QUOTE ]
Agreed, it doesn't seem to stack up against other sets. Where's the unique benefit? -
[ QUOTE ]
I just have to say that the instant I turned my electric armor on I had a total joygasm. It is everything I could have dreamed in every way. The look, the sound...god it just makes me happy to be alive!
Elec/Elec is the reason I came back to CoH/CoV. I saw it coming in I7 and reactivated immediatly and I'm not going to be regretting that decision.
My only saddness is that my partner in crime cannot be an elec/elec corruptor with me
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, but RED lightning? C'mon...even the Crey lightning on the Voltaic Tanks isn't red. Mr. Horse what do you think?
"No sir, I didn't like it." -

Poor Bone Smasher ; ; I'm going to miss dropping toggles with ye.

They should have never touched Toggle Drops on Dominators.

What they really should not have done is introduced PvP into CoX... -
[ QUOTE ]
while i do love a meaty gunshot, you do have to consider the possible scenario of such a sound effect un multiples and in unison with others of its type.
ie: a single shot might sound a bit weak. the same shot fired of by 8 different sources (2 thug masterminds with 3 henchmen each) shooting in rapid succesion could be a bit much.
[/ QUOTE ]
There have been enough obnoxious sound choices made by devs...let's not encourage them to make the sounds more annoying... -
[ QUOTE ]
The pistols are fantastic. The only problem I have with Thugs MMs is that none of the secondaries seem to fit, and I can't even think of one that would.
I really, REALLY hope you guys consider Pistol Scrappers. I'm aching for some Equilibrium style Pistols/SR with these awesome animations. Make it identical to Spines, with all the melee attacks as pistol whips, and probably trading Quills for one more 20-40' ranged attack.
[/ QUOTE ]
Neat idea but I don't really see it. Scrappers are melee and pistols are a ranged weapon. It just doesn't fit. Yes, I know scrappers have some ranged abilities but I just don't see it here.
Besides, I think the Spines power set is a result of someones acid flashbacks from the 70s... -
I hope that Positron isn't responsible for the bland and unexciting PPPs else I will be afraid for the future of CoX.
With CoV it looks like it was done in a low budget manner, maximizing reuse of the code while providing less a fresh experience to subscribers. The PPPs are just one example (of course we shall see what they actually turn out to be).
Veteran rewards? Whatup wit dat? These were silly in SWG and I don't see how they will be any more than fluff here either. If you give the vets something really impressive and powerful the new folks are always going to have a burr up their butt about it. And the vets will kick newbie butt in PvP. Unless it is fluff, of course, which I anticipate. In either case, vet rewards I do not see as a great idea or good use of developer time. How about fixing bugs and adding more content instead of adding spurious bits and bytes to the databases?
-
Yay another PvP change invading the game. Isn't Cryptic ready to throw out PvP yet? Scrappers win. The game has been a good PvE game but all of the disruption and changes due to some madman's desire to include PvP is WRONG.
Stop this PvP disease today!
Masterminds do NOT need any changes unless they are nerfs. They already stomp through missions on the highest rep levels. So are we adding additional rep levels so they can *really* kick some A? -

I wonder how useful it would be if someone wrote up a complete guide & posted it outside of the forums. For the most part, people who frequent the forums will be able to figure out raid strategies. The real problem is educating the people who play the game & never see the forums.
The site still needs a couple tweaks, but it is functional.
[/ QUOTE ]
Huh? Who plays the game and doesn't read the forums at least occasionally or when they need help solving a problem in-game? Did you read before you posted? -
Weave. Totally not worth it now even with this. Even six slotted it's not worth the end to get what...about 10% (if that)...defense. And with ED...a totally useless power.
:-(
