Keep in mind that fun can be considered a reward. Make a zone more enjoyable and interesting to encourage people to go there!
Similarly, lack of fun effectively reduces the reward of a zone. As has been noted, adding a hospital and store to hazard zones would go a long way.
Beyond that, missions and trials are keen. -
I have to say, the Avro Arrow costume impressed the heck out of me. I really appreciated the additional shots showing all the detail, because it brought home how much work went into it. Great job!
My only disappointment from the results is that I really thought Spare Parts did a fantastic job; however, the picture put up for her didn't include a CoH logo, so possibly that disqualified her. -
I too got help from GM_Sean, in this case an Oranbega mission last night. After I'd been up and down the map 5 times, I figured I needed a hand. Apparently there were 5 enemies I missed, two of whom were guarding the hostage that the mission refused to tell me was the completion condition. Anyway, response time was under 5 minutes, and GM_Sean brought the mobs to me for fast beatdowns. Yay.
I will say, I am not sure the incredible coolness of the Oranbega art makes up for the incredible aggravation that nearly all missions set there seem to generate. This particular mission (which involved saving a named hostage and recovering a book of names, but also required saving an unlisted number of generic hostages) was particularly aggravating since it wouldn't tell me what I was missing. Ah well. As long as I can get quick help when my own resources fail me, I'll be content. -
I hate to kvetch, because I love the new artwork and models, but I had to bug one problem with Lou's back room:
There is no way for the parked truck to have gotten into that room unless he assembled it there. All the doors on the wall are loading docks, not garage doors. It could not have been driven in, and there is no way to get it out without disassembling it.
Other than that, I am a huge fan of all the work that has been done on maps like that one, the Frostfire map (!), the superadine factory, the Pwnz mission, and more. Kudos! -
Clear Mind stacks, too. You can get a ton of little Clear Mind icons next to a teammate if you are persistent.

Geko, what about the duration of Inertial Reduction?
[/ QUOTE ]
Oops.. meant to say Increase Density. I was doing that all day.

Oh. In that case, I *really* wish ID lasted at least as long as Speed Boost. -

Fact: Outcasts and trolls are far more powerful than they ever used to be in relation to their level, and are FAR more powerful than any other mob at thier level. At level 5, you are fighting things with ballbats, shotguns, sledgehammers, electric zaps, and zombie barf at worst.

This was a serious error in design. We've already toned them down once - and we're going to be equipping them with weapons similar to those used by Hellions and Skulls at that level.

Boo! Please keep Outcast minions interesting! If they are doing the same damage as other minions but using flares, ice bolt, stone fists etc instead of knives and pistols, I am very much in favor of keeping their flavor the way it is post issue 2. -

Geko, what about the duration of Inertial Reduction? I don't have it on my Kin defender yet but I hear it's pretty short as well. It seems it should be boosted as well, especially considering the slow factor.

Don't worry about it - IR is awesome. The duration is pretty short, yes, but it's exactly the same as the recharge. As long as you either put it on auto to travel or queue up the next instance every time it goes off, you shouldn't have any worries. Further, it's faster than pool Super Jump. -

How about a title...
Expansion 3: A Council of War
[/ QUOTE ]
So, assuming this is, like the other issue titles, a literary reference, any idea what the reference is? I searched Google for a while, and I only came up with these:
PG Wodehouse : Love Among the Chickens : Chapter XIV. A Council of War
William H. Duquette: Through Darkest Zymurgia! : Chapter 12. A Council of War
Charlotte Perkins Gilman "A Council of War" (short story)

We'll also be tuning down Trolls and Outcasts even more - to make them like Skulls and Hellions (fewer powers, etc.).

Dang. Try not to sacrifice the new flavor of the factions. I always bemoaned the fact that most Outcasts and Trolls were totally boring. At least keep the minions' elemental attacks - that elevates them from mere gang members to superhuman menaces.
