Adding onto the mezz resistance problem, mezz shields don't even seem to add that much exp to an enemy. Well, melee shields as a whole don't seem to boost xp rate at the same ratio as increasing enemy survivability.

It was interesting. I see I missed a cutscene amongst my happy lag times. Guess I'll have to unlock him at some point and solo it.
-
In the end, I decided to award both. I need to sit down and hash out a more specific reward criteria for the next one (be on the lookout for it). However, in-game email has been used to mail the inf prizes for this one.
For Hotaru's entry, he opted to keep the Warriors the same but with newer models. Perhaps the most defining change was adding "Amazons" that did manage to fit in with the rest of the group visually. While the arc itself wasn't the subject of the contest, it had a few funny bits in it here and there.
For Kidou's entry, he played up their dedication to Greek myth by having high ranks don armor and even having a rarer boss spawn with Zeus Lightning. It was a more diverse group than Hotaru's offering but had a few more typos and lacked one of the original Warriors mixed into the enemy group.
Both groups incorporated archers for more range than standard Warriors and both had shielders though I'm curious about the powers the shield guys have.
In the "I'm not a dev so nobody cares" side of things, I'd actually merge the two. I'd have an Amazon faction within the group while having the group as a whole slowly become more myth inspired as they go up in rank. I think Kidou may have had them level up a smidge too fast. Granted, random weapon caches and mystic artifacts abound in Paragon but I'd have a more distinct half and half between street thug and 300 for the LTs.
It may take a bit for me to get the pics from the groups. However, if any Ultra Mode enabled folks would like to take pictures then it would be much appreciated. *hint hint nudge kick stab* -
Quote:Pretty sure that's the reason why. Trying to figure out in my head what the actual exploits are and I'm getting a few ideas.QR
If they removed the Warburg option and won't say why -- exploit.
I think CoP is another example where rewards = time fails. As far as I've been able to tell from my own server, it's either 15 minute perfect runs with well oiled SGs or the trial fails. The 15 minute runs are driving down the reward averages while the failures don't even get factored into the average. -
That would be protection from the end drain aura so it seems like they went with VEATs = HEATs since VEATs got the Brute power. Personally, I think Kheldians and Scrappers should switch. What was the thought process there? "Regen is so good it could care less about lasers." Seriously doubt it'll happen though.

Quote:Ah yes, Fist of Annihilation. With a Kinetic Combat proc you actually can turn it into a bootleg Falcon Punch.Yes, but in MA you can select an alternate animation for most attacks now, including Assassin Blow, in the costume editor. MA's alternate AS animation is pretty sweet looking.

Quote:And on the 6th year there were A-Merits. Castle looketh down upon them and it was good...I pretty much refuse to pay the money required to buy damage purple sets for my blasters or scrappers
Quote:I'm gone for almost a year and decide to check this forum for the first time in maybe even longer than that and we're still talking about this? Really?
The more things change etc.
Better? There's Some great arcs going on so it seems like there's catching up to do. -
Both entrants have valid takes on the redesign. Gonna take a bit to decide between the two. However, I need to check something because there's a possibility that one might lose on a technicality.

While some things couldn't be "fixed", I opted to make a few changes to Dhahabu Kingdom and the Indelible Curse of Hate. Hope everyone enjoys them.

Quote:It shouldn't be a big deal but there's some key problems with it in AE.Fundamentally, though, I don't see why anyone cares. So what if people are farming AE, or sewers, or whatever else they can figure out how to farm?
- Clutter. It's not that one or two or even ten people have farms published. It's that there's such a large number of them and they don't clear them out after their done. It's very different from doing dev arcs with mobs that are underpowered for their level range since that's key missions as opposed to making their own. Or begging for someone to make one/drag them along. I was on field trip mode to other servers and I had to scratch my head at this fire/kin at 50 begging to get in on a farm. Wha..? How can you not find a farm on a fire/kin? That leads to the next problem:
- Annoyance. Essentially the difference between the groups who pick a mission to farm and you never know they even exist as opposed to standing in Atlas/Cap giving shout outs for a farm team. It may be different for those who turn off broadcast but it can be a detriment to the environment of the game. Because of...
- Perception. The 5 year vet who wants to only do X is set in their ways. However, the new player who gets power leveled to 50 and then doesn't know how to play their character or where the "end game" is winds up with a poor impression of the game as a whole. People who only know of the AE for farms will never see the enjoyable missions...despite claiming boredom in global channels.
In the end, it's less of farmers versus non-farmers and more about a culture clash in gameplay that forces people to pick sides when we shouldn't be put in that situation. -
Adding on to that, make sure there isn't a space or carriage return/Enter in your tag.
-
Looking at my watch, today is the 14th, therefore tomorrow is the 15th and the deadline. 50 million inf is up for grabs for one lucky entrant.

Oh ho, but you aren't really emailing it. What you are really doing is using your status to validate the heroism or vileness of another super.

Save a CoH player from Arachnos! was interesting to say the least.
Overview
The main issue with the arc is that it is simultaneously goofy humor and full tilt serious business in the story. I was rather conflicted when I ran it on how I was supposed to view it and react. I will say that it's not impossible to pull off. You might want to watch the movie Life with Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence on how it can work to handle both though it'll be different for everyone viewing the movie or your arc.
I have to wonder if it would be better to have the dramatic reveal much earlier in the arc so that it could be interwoven a bit better. Or at least it wouldn't seem like such a heavy drop in the end. I think this is where I got the most conflicted on how to view the arc so maybe you just need another pair of eyes to look at it.
Couldn't see any major mechanical errors. The glowie in the first mission lacked a time. The mission 3 version of James lacked a bio while Charles and the slave shared one. No clues and the time Portal destructable lacked a bio.
Also, the gun holding emote lacked guns. I don't think this one is your fault at all because I found a similar quirk with an arc I'm writing. Needs testing to see if it's a one off problem or needs to be reported as a bug.
Spelling/Grammar
Arc description
Arachnos has gone back in time to prevent two slaves, one of them being my great-grandfather, from being freed, all because I won too many missions against them. I had no idea they were real! You've got to help me!
This seems like a run-on sentence. Consider changing to
Arachnos has gone back in time to prevent two slaves, one of them being my great-grandfather, from being freed. All because I won too many missions against them. I had no idea they were real! You've got to help me!
OR
Arachnos has gone back in time to prevent two slaves, one of them being my great-grandfather, from being freed...all because I won too many missions against them. I had no idea they were real! You've got to help me! -
Touching on what Lazarus said, you may want to flip that order with bosses as recolored standards (if possible) and minions as customs as far as xp payouts is concerned. Plus, you see more minions than other ranks in an arc.
-
If it's a low level arc, you can recolor standard mobs such as Skulls, Hellions, or even Outcasts and Infected to suit your needs.
-
Still in wishlist status. However, if you know the author's global, you can search for them again. Also, when you click on an arc to expand it and read the info, you can click the author's name and it'll pull up their published arcs. Plus, you could use in-game email to send yourself a list.

I both agree and disagree with some of your points. I know mission 3 has a potential for rage due to the setup. It's very love/hate and people are 50/50 in their response to it. I really wish I could chop the map for mission 1 in half due to the size but it is the only map that works. I actually have deliberately fewer spawns in an attempt to cut down the tedium. This also surprised me that you seemingly had few fights in mission 4. I disagree with your view of Mission 2 for the fact that it is perhaps the single most linear outdoor map in the game.
I kept things a little light on ambushes but I've been contemplating tweaking the difficulty here and there. One of the problems with ambushes in mission 4 is that pending on where they spawn and how high your damage output is, you may kill the final boss before they even get there. Then again, Chukizi probably breaks a few too many rules on the Evil Overlord List so it could bear looking at.
I didn't perceive Auri's voice as whiny but different people have different perspectives of things. The Auri/Aurus thing is a reference to gold ("Au") so perhaps too clever for my own good (keeping it though). Likewise the sigil mention is the skull symbol on the possessed villagers but I don't think I ever directly note it and it doesn't glow or anything.
While I wish you enjoyed it more, I'd prefer you be honest and give decent critique. Gave me a few things to think about and it's better than getting 1 starred just for the heck of it.
One question: Solo or team? Settings affect a few things so I'm just curious for reference. Most of the original testing was on a large team and I generally set myself to be x8 but invincible when testing. -
I know it won't perfectly fit for 9/11 but have you considered running LaserJesus' Made to Wave the Flag? I know it broke at one point since the generator destructable seems to break at least once an issue but I know it's back and hopefully he got it fixed.

Quote:Actually, I believe the first group was friendly. I was more of giving my initial thought process. During Agent Six Task Force while the main tanker/brute was dealing with Gyrfalcon, my stalker had to offtank an all-Titan spawn for an 8 man team. It was more of me reflexively wanting to curl up in a ball than your ambush being that bad. This is the Destroy the Titan Plant mission?
The way I have that set to run is that a wave of friendly Zeus Titans spawns when the guy's on 3/4, and then a wave of hostile Zeus Titans spawns when he's on 1/2. This means that most of the time the second group encounters the first group offscreen and you have either one or two near-dead Zeus titans wander in, hostile or not. The rest of the time both groups meet at once and there's a colossal Titan Fight in the middle of the fight. I've never actually seen the hostile ones get to the player first.
Wait, were both of the ambushes hostile?
Quote:The map's a big one, but given the sheer number of options dropped in most of the others would just be too small.
Quote:Pity there's no team recognition text. I'll see if there's a size-neutral way to word it.
BTW, when updating an arc make sure to give it an extra minute or so to fully change in the system. Sometimes go as far as closing the MA interface. Just something to note if changes are reverting. -
-
It's a glitch that seems to negatively affect all types of MM henchmen.

Quote:If you look at every person that voted Option 1 BUT a caveat as to not replace this or that... Maybe they should be put into Option 2.
Everyone can have something that they'd not like to see change too greatly. Voting Option 1 with the exception of [fill in the blank] is sort of a selfish vote for Option 2. How about the things that someone else might find as dear to them as that person holds that particular category dear? Hmmm?
