All that matters is that I got a kill. Woot!

Bloody killstealer!! -
I'm NOT a PD dammit!! I'm a monkey to the bone...not one of those apes over there

My first sign of trouble was when the message flashed up saying Hammerfall had been deleted .
[/ QUOTE ]
AHAHA... (Hammer's not gonna like that!) -

We're looking at having another bash next monday, any takers?
[/ QUOTE ]
Any chance of moving back to Sunday?
[/ QUOTE ]
Sundays are really our preferred day but since not many of the leaders actually would be able to attend this Sunday we decided on Monday....sorry. -
[ QUOTE ]
Yeah, it seemed to be going well up until that point. Lag seemed to be less of a problem (I heard less complaints about people losing the targetter anyway). So thanks to the organisers anyway.
On the subject of GM aggro, might it be an idea to have a standby firefighting team? Say, 3 or 4 tanks and some empaths, ready to step in in case of a member of the tanking team dropping connection, or GM aggro? Since, after all, tanks and empaths aren't doing much during the holding phase anyway.
[/ QUOTE ]
We already have a GM scouting team but unfortunately they didnt have a tank with them today because of various reasons.
Anyone actually see the GMs walk in? From my point of view they where suddenly just there.
Anyways....Next monday then? -

The single target immob is essential for PvP for setting up containment on melee toons, but the AoE isn't essential and getting both certainly isn't. The end cost of the AOE is very high for what it does, and the only time you're likely to find it useful in PvP is against MMs.
[/ QUOTE ]
Taking both immobs is for faster stacking against things like scraps, tanks, brutes and such....nothing to do with MMs.
Fighting MMs is easy on a ice/storm: Lay down ice slick and go to town.
[ QUOTE ]
And if you're arguing against a power pick, merely saying 'it's just bad' comes across as glib and dismissive rather than informed and persuasive.
[/ QUOTE ]
NBs just stating what others have already said in the thread....no need to repeat it. -

Good idea in theory war but can get a little timeconsuming i would think.
The best way we've found was basically just to target anything close to you and just bash away thus not moving around too much.....I know it sounds quite hectic but actually very efficent.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm not sure how having a plan of movement so everyone knows which direct we are going will be more time comsuming to be honest. The best way so far does not take into account trying this way and seems to loose momentum some times as people are trying to see where the mitos are when they keep blinking out due to lag.
I think a general plan will help overcome this.
[/ QUOTE ]
(Some) people don't read the guides unfortunately and will get confused by a big master plan.....simple is sometimes the best way to go....but try it out mate -
Can you add
Arch Ned, Gravity control / Empathy / Primal Forces pls? -

If you want to try its fine by me...always good to try out new ideas
The guide is "always" being updated because of changes to do with raids. The current guide we're using is a bit outdated atm but since no major changes have happened since Xanthus wrote it, we currently see no point in updating it. If you do decide to try this and you're succesful then of course -

Arctic air is good in pvp, but hurricane is better and the two don't work well together, as the 'cane will push them out of the AA. They both cost painfull amounts of endurance, and endurance management is the biggest problem for ice/storm in PVP, in my experience. In fact, slot for end reducers wherever you can.
[/ QUOTE ]
Most people have knockback resistance in PvP (they'd better!) so that isnt that much of an issue
[/ QUOTE ]KB, yes, but not repel
[/ QUOTE ]
True, but the repel effect is neglible now as anyone with sprint (oh...thats everyone!!) can get a hit in before they're repelled. -
I'm not a PD dammit !! Stop telling lies !! (rest is true though )
-
agree that LS can be quite useful in PvP if it suits your playstyle....I'm always moving so LS is useless for me.

TAKE TORNADO!!! it is a very good power in pvp. It hits almost anything with just one acc in it and is effective against anyone. If they have no knockback and mez resist they are helpless in its power, and if they do (i.e. melee toons) it sticks to them like a whirly terrier, does some decent damage over time and just annoys the hell out of people. It doesn'y work on fliers of course, but then you have snowstorm...
I slot mine for recharge and damage, although disorients also work well.
[/ QUOTE ]
Tornado doesnt take acc does it? not the last time i checked anyway? Tornado is brilliant for PvP as it has a massive def debuff.....it can negate PFF for gods sake!
[ QUOTE ]
Finally: I love lightning storm. There are loads of ways to use it for both offense and defense in PVP, and it looks cool. Why be a stormy if you don't take your storm? For more details on how it can be used, i suggest an after dinner discussion over port and cigars. How about next Tuesday?
[/ QUOTE ]
Lightning Storm lost its appeal after the toggledrop nerf
Now it's , as Psydock says, next to useless. Stationary pet which dmg isnt that great and since it can't (well it can but the chance utter [censored]) drop toggles you would definately want to skip it....still very good in PvE though. -
Carni is kinda right (as always...right that is )
If youre planning on playing a kin thus getting fulcrum shift hotfeet will even outdmg imps....both fantastic. -
well...both are good as already stated
If you're planning on teaming with your grav/kin I would probably personally go for /kin as speed boosting each other and double FS just simply rocks!
Rads very very good though -

I'll be there. Oh yes I will. Sonic/Sonic defender OK for you? :P

but but but....that little piggy doesnt exist?!? -

bha i think all aoe hold powers need a buff... they are weak, slow, bad acc and bad duration.... totally helpless in every builds

Pardon me?? I find them great and amazing atm

/agree (oh dear...I just agreed with Dark....now I'm surely doomed! ) -

What is RI?

Radiation Infection from the Radiation Emission set. -

Flash IS the weakest of all AOE Hold powers
[/ QUOTE ]Is it? To my knowledge it's no worse than cinders or glacier.
[/ QUOTE ]
All the AoE holds are good (Volcanic Gasses is a special one though). None weaker than others.
The only differences is whether theyre PBAoE, ranged and the animation times (with the exception of Volcanic Gasses). -
[ QUOTE ]
No it's not
[/ QUOTE ]
haha...can't argue with that kinda logic -
[ QUOTE ]
Dis will be there with his heals for Hammer like last time
hopefully i will get a better hami-o this time, last one i got i couldn't use so gona end up giving it to Archy
[/ QUOTE ]
oi!! you haven't given me it yet you gimp!!
And about PA drop teams you can send a tell to me on @Archy or Generalissimo 2 on @Gen 2
We will be on toons called Arch Nemesis and Righteous Bob (haha...thats actually pretty funny names when put against each other )
And pls pls pls read the guide. -
pfft....gimp!! now go earn some prestige dammit!!
...oh...and grats man -

Choking Cloud is a complete aggro magnet too, if you have it. With it and Hotfeet I can out-aggro any aura based Tank.
[/ QUOTE ]You know that's theoretically impossible, right?
[/ QUOTE ]
Theory is one thing but putting it into practice is another MaX....you should try it sometime. -
hehe...turning into an addict now Mag
There's still no ETA on when Xan's gonna be able to log back in so if you want to do one soonish you should just go and set a date actually as I'm sure a lot of people would see more raids happening.
Think it's a good idea to have alternating days. Experience shows that Mondays, Thursdays and Sundays are the best days.
I agree with Gen 2 that we could "easily" do daily raids to some extent but it would quickly become too much of a chore so biweekly seems the best way to go.
You know I'm always up for some raiding
Go Go Inner Monkeys
EDIT: Actually put our guide in guide section for easier access: HAMIDON GUIDE!
