Any new thoughts?
[/ QUOTE ]
Shadow Punch is of less worth now.
Shadow Meld is insane. There is literally no reason to go any other Patron. Use it prior to every fight and you will almost never die.
Siphon Life is now one of the best attacks in the game. It has crazy high mitigation values with an incredible amount of damage (think Disembowel level of damage). Not taking it is like skipping Placate and Assassin's Strike.
Midnight Grasp is now a great attack, and was always pretty good.
I'm sorry that this guide became out of date so quickly. I'm thinking of rewriting it, but the necessary time commitment is an issue. -
Yeah, I remember announcing that, but I tried to separate the PvP and the PvE placate bugs as much as possible. They weren't even remotely the same, except that they both caused aggro where aggro shouldn't be.

This bug affects PvP only. Why would Castle bother fixing something for six people?
[/ QUOTE ]
Last I checked, it still affects PvE as well. At least the DoT's aspect of it does.
[/ QUOTE ]
I can state with certainty that it affects PvE on my Elec/Nin.
Placate boss who is getting up from being knocked down from Thunder Strike (no attack started because it's impossible).
Boss gets purple glowy-head animation.
Boss takes a few steps away.
Boss turns around and thwaps me while AS is still interruptible.
Stalker curses loudly, queues Havoc Punch, mutters about how this still is broken.
The good news is that the LR+TS took out pretty much everyone else, though...
[/ QUOTE ]
And I can state with certainty that this was nailed down around I... I.. wait, when did Elec Stalkers hit? I11? Feh. Anyway, Castle just forgot to make recovery debuffs an exception to breaking Placate. -
[ QUOTE ]
Why not?
[/ QUOTE ]
'cause if I were him, I'd be more considered with the mass-exodus of PvPers in general than a bug we've lived with for 7 issues.
Also, in-before-AC-is-a-stalker-traitor. -

Red name post?
Who is that guy anyway?
[/ QUOTE ]
Used to, in the Time Before Times when Friggin_Tasers ran free, each AT was supposed to have a liaison of sorts with the developers. Castle was for Stalkers, Positron for Dominators, and Jonyu was for Brutes. There may have been other reps, but I can't recall any. Needless to say, this didn't work out so well. Posi and Castle were promoted, Jonyu went the way of the dodo. -
Bad idea about the Arean change. If they're so unpopular that you have to build an option to put it back the way it was, why not just... like... put it back the way it was, for the most part?
-
I really hope you rethink the PvP changes, guys. Other than that, the issue is mediocre especially for the time taken, but so far it's not bad.
Now for a real question. SS/Shield or Mace/Shield? *bwahahaha* -
My Fire/Kin Corr explained it as taking and manipulating souls for raw energy potential. It was quirky, but it worked.

Exclusive Valkyrie Costume set - Costume pieces include two varieties of wings, a cape, a skirt/kilt, pants, boots, shoulders, chest, gloves, belts, and helmet with multiple details.
[/ QUOTE ]
*facepalm*
So, out of curiosity, when are you going to stop this policy of "pay us inordinate amounts of money so your character can have another look"? It is my opinion that full size costumes should never require payment like this. Neat helmets, a neat aura, something to that effect, sure, but this is a pay-to-play MMO. We pay for a reason. That reason is to have additions doled out to us at a regular basis, otherwise we're just another free-to-play Korean MMO that'll charge you money to buy in-game items.
Not that it matters, since you'll likely make a pretty penny off it nevertheless, but that's my feedback on the matter. -
[ QUOTE ]
Do I read things correctly? Is.. this..... exclusive Villain Content? Not just more.. Co-op?
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm not jumping for joy yet. I got the distinct impression it was just "save the world... villainously". -
You, uh, kinda missed both my guides, mate.
Edit: Acutally, you put Art of Ninja in an incorrect section and completely left out Death and Darkness. I feel ever so unappreciated -
Actually, what your four Dark Defenders did was floor her damage with four Darkest Nights (eight with fluffies) and many, many Twilight Grasps. Like, by 90%. She was only putting out 10% of her normal damage. She was neutered, pretty bad.

Nice guide, except it really wasn't undoccumented compared to other changes really, and I covered 90% of that in my guide which once I update it in I13 will be the bible of Stalkers.
[/ QUOTE ]
BS, bish I'm updating mine too, so yours will only be the bible of Ninja. -
Thanks for writing this up, though I think you should've waited until I13 hit in order to include a few potential questions that may arise.

Writing a decent guide isn't so easy,

What are you TALKING about? Writing guides is easy as pie. Heck, I whack off in the bathroom, there's a guide laying there in the morning!*

WHAT??!! I can't reuse the same joke over and over again???
[/ QUOTE ]
Good guides aren't easy to write, how about that. I spend months refining mine. -
[ QUOTE ]
Not many people write guides mainly because there isn't much of a point. With the addition of the real number system, comparing power choices is incredibly easy.
[/ QUOTE ]
... and on the other hand, I vehemently disagree with this. Any good guide provides more than numbers. -
I've written a couple guides, and working on a new one and updating an old one. My guides tend to be extremely detailed and very lengthy. I write them slowly - and often rarely - because they require a lot of effort on my part. I do them for the simple fact that it vastly reduces queries regarding some combos or primaries/secondaries; queries which I often end up answering.
I understand that you'd like more guides, but some of us take rather a lot of pride in the completed product and wish to make ours as complete, detailed and easy-to-read as possible. -

The kin didn't use Transfusion much,... Those two factors alone easily doubled the time for the TF.
[/ QUOTE ]
This is beyond absurd and shows a lack of knowledge about how -regen (and regen, for that matter) works.
Let's say an AV has 31,000 hit points. They regen from zero to full in five minutes. That means they regen - roughly - 103 hit points per second. A level 54 AV has 87% resistance to debuffs, and when you take that 13% effectiveness and apply the purple patch, you're looking at around 6% effectiveness for your debuff. Transfusion applies a 50% -regen effect. 50% * .0624 = 3.12% -regen. That means you just lowered their regen rate from 103 to 99.78, meaning a whopping 3.22 DPS from casting Transfusion.
Now let me ask you. Does your normal attack chain exceed 3.22 DPS? Oh, it does? THEN STOP WASTING YOUR TIME AND USE ATTACKS. -

4. As one example of the Epic/Patron changes, Castle mentions that Weapon Mastery for Scrappers will now include Focused Accuracy. If his memory is correct.
[/ QUOTE ]
Sorry, but this is ridiculous if FA remains a 20% +tohit buff and doesn't go into villain hands. -
Since you went off on a tangent, I gotta respond to your points, Daemodand.
[ QUOTE ]
I went with Mace Beam on my build. The two powers (Mace Beam and Bash) are actually very equal overall if you factor in the advantages Mace beam has: range, more reliable secondary effect and smashing/energy damage (one of the most potent damage combos in the game).
[/ QUOTE ]
Mace Beam has significantly longer cast time. Cast time is God in CoH. Surely you know this.
[ QUOTE ]
But ask yourself: why is the Bane compared to Night Widows, while Crabs and Forts aren't? Crabs and Forts would also look bad in comparison to Night Widows' strong points! (NW damage is greatly superior to Forts, NW survivability and single target damage is greatly superior to Crabs, yet no one ever holds these facts against Forts and Crabs only against Banes. Who ever said Banes were supposed to equal Night Widows? It was an assumption made by some players based on nothing more than speculation and is really unfair to Banes. Banes bring their own strong points that the other VEATs don't: better single target damage than Crabs, better pets and mez than Night Widows, better single target damage and pets than Fortunatas. All VEATs can be compared in this way showing where each is superior. The bad rep Banes currently have is entirely unjustified!)
[/ QUOTE ]
Crabs vs. Forts = Forts have higher survivability and significantly higher single target. Crabs have better AoE and can easily multiply the damage of a team (better than Banes, I might add).
Night Widows vs. Forts = Forts have higher survivability and higher AoE. They can also stack Follow Up, Aim and double Assault for ludicrous levels of +dmg.
Crabs vs. Banes = Crabs have higher survivability by far, better debuffing potential, and significantly higher AoE (even with the gun).
The Bane rap is entirely justified, contrary to the evidenceless attacks against the opposing arguments. Additionally, you may not want to go into Fortunata vs. Bane. As Arcanaville would say... there be dragons. -

This sounds ominous:

To start, we rebalanced the Patron powers and the Epic powers that villains and heroes get so they're more in line with each other. We looked at what players were picking more often and changed some powers completely and pruned some powers.

Patron buff or Epic nerf?

Epic nerf. Bye bye Power Boost. -
