    OK I agree with you, but what is stopping the devs from doing this on test and getting player feedback? Isn't that what we'd all hope for anyways? They change something, put it on test so we can test it out and see how it goes from there.
  2. I would not want to lose conserve power. It's comes in handy before overload crashes. Pop conserve power, then when overload crashes, a blue or 2, energy drain a mob, and you're back up to full speed in a matter of seconds.

    I'd rather see the res passive powers either merged/removed for other powers. Cause they're really not that useful.

    I think balance is pretty good. CoX PvP is very difficult and mastering one character build takes a long time. The problem is that not all powersets can PvP and you won't know that until you have invested many hours into trying to make the AT combo work in PvP. Virtually all AT's can help a team in PvP.

    Bottom line. I have played on Villian teams where we had the right combo and held off a much larger force of Hero players so badly they couldn't leave there base for 30 minutes and I have done almost the same with a Hero team of the right make up. So it is balanced. It is just very challenging.

    I've been pvp-ing online for 9 years in various games. Most of them aimed for better, but not perfect, one on one balances. CoX is more team-balanced. Thats fine, better in some ways, but it means that some days you're a diamond and somedays you're dirt. Thats balance too!

    How often do you PvP? I'm not trying to be an jerk or come across as abrasive but, are you even playing the same game?
    I don't think anyone in all honesty can play both sides and say they're both balanced, it's just not possible. Villains are clearly at a disadvantage.

    Both are correct. The decision to keep Ice/Ice as a tanker only set was something I came to when we first started talking Powerset Proliferation, long after the COV beta. Ultimately, the concept was not adopted anyway, so the point is extremely moot.

    I disagree. Currently there are sets that villains have both primary and secondary that would work against Fury. For example, Cloak of Fear, fears those in PBAoE range of the brute. What's worse, being Fear and not being able to attack at all or just having your recharge slowed so you can't attack as often?
    Does that mean, Cloak of fear is going to be nerfed or removed because it works against Fury? What about powers such as Foot Stomp, Tremor, Seismic smash, or Knockout blow? They mez NPC(s) and without recharge from IOs and buff you could in essence perma foot stomp a mob, and keep them from attacking you. I fail to see how -recharge is simply automatically deemed "Anti Fury" when other powers could also work against building Fury. If I'm a Stone melee brute, I could one could just Tremor and Fault back to back and keep the NPCs on their backs and not get fury built from them attacking you.

    Another example, EM. EM brutes, cannot build fury as quickly, sure it's great at single target attacking, but I could hit one NPC with TF, stun him, ET another, stun him, another with Bone smasher, stun him, and I've stunned 3 NPCs and I've caused myself to not build fury because they're stunned instead of attacking me. Just seems to me people are sweeping this under the rug instead of giving a reason why Ice armor wouldn't work. It appears that the consensus is "oh it's -recharge so it breaks fury" and no one thinks anything beyond that.

    If one is going to say "Ice/Ice isn't for Villains" I would like a more in depth explanation simply other than "Because I looked into it and it's -recharge" Cause from my perspective, you're saying something but not really saying anything.

    Hope I didn't come across as abrasive or adamanent, just curious as to why all this talk about ice armor wouldn't be ported to villains and everyone just says "oh it's anti-fury". But when I think about it, there are plenty of powers brutes have that can and do work as anti-fury.

    Judging from your post there, you clearly have no idea what you're talking about nor have you played a thermal corruptor.

    An empathy's Fortitude and Clear mind is nothing compared to Forge and Thaw.

    Not to mention, Fortitude grants, defense(and this is defense to ALL, smashing, lethal, cold, fire, psi, etc), damage, and To Hit, AND it an be powerboosted.

    Forge grants damage and to hit and cannot be powerboosted.

    Clear Mind grants resistance to Immob, hold, disorient, sleep, confuse, fear and it grants +perception. Seeing as how this stacks, you can be at the perception cap with 2 applications of CM.

    Thaw however does not grant any sort of perception at all.

    Also, Empathy has 2 single target heals, one is an "oh crap" heal that heals for 90% of a targets HP. So just about anyone can be kept alive for quite a while if you keep switching between heal other and absorb pain.

    Thermal has only the equivalent to heal other and cauterize, and even at level 50, the heal values are not close.

    Empathy also has the ability the buff others and the caster. Using Recovery aura and regeneration aura which makes the caster more survivable in pve AND pvp.

    Thermal just has shields and cannot cast on themselves (obviously) and without a RA like power, Thermals are very end heavy.

    I'm not trying to say Thermal should have RA, just pointing out that there are differences.

    Also, Empathy is solely an all buff powerset, while thermal radiation, has buffs but also has debuffs with melt armor and heat exhaustion.

    Next time, play the AT/Powersets before you jump to conclusion that they're the same, and judging from your sig, you haven't.
    And no, heroes have gotten more than enough don't need poison. If anything Villains should've gotten empathy.

    Take AS away from a stalker and what do you have? A very gimp scrapper. Take defiance along with BU + AIM away from a blaster, and you have a very gimped Corruptor. Defender without buffs/debuffs? Not very useful.

    Please, don't complain about stalkers ASing you. You know how stalkers work, if you're in a pvp zone, don't stand still. Make it harder for them to AS you. If they AS and run, and you happened to get killed, they did their job and accomplished, you failed at stopping them. Don't wanna get ASed? move around, and bring greens to get past the burst damage. Not too complicated? But I guess when you PvE all the time, you want it to be just as easy no?

    Judging from the description, it seems like this is Hero only content? Am I incorrect in this assessment? And not that I'm complaining but adding new content is great, but making it Co-op between villains and heroes, is not so great. Why not some unique content for villains? New zones and story archs for the red side instead of sharing it with the heroes. Cause there's really nothing red side that would make a hero go "Whoa! They got THAT?!? I gotta try a villain out for that new content" or whatever.

    Or either make a new level 50 zone where Heroes and villains can team up together, cause WB is dead enough as it is.
    I would rather have a zone where a level 50 brute, stalker, corrupter etc, can team up with a level 50 defender, troller, blaster, etc. It would make for much more interesting pvp because then you'd have a hybrid of teams. Having stalker + blaster or stalker + troller go up against dominator + tanker or dominator + blaster. And all of them being able to use all of their powers would make it much more interesting and fun because then no one would be missing powers. And we'd have no one saying "Well I don't have X-power so that's why I'm losing!"

    OR, this may be a bit drastic, turn RWZ into a pvp zone, cause it's already coded to have heroes and villains on the same team, they'd only have to make it so that you're auto LK/SKed up to level 50.

  12. Wow! /Signed and I agree except for one thing.

    Allow villains and heroes to team but instead of Warburg, villains and heroes should be able to team up in a level 50 PVP zone. Either make a new zone or edit RV or maybe turn RWZ into a PVP/PVE Zone ? Seeing as how villains and heroes can already team up there anyways.

    Not game breaking in any way, but still a problem that needed to be fixed. So, all the servers were brought down during the day to fix it.
    Its been well over a year since placate was addressed.

    I couldn't agree more, it's annoying to see that a tanker bug which was in existence that wasn't game breaking or made the tankers not tank well, yet the servers were brought down for what 3 hours? Just to fix this bug and yet placate is still not fixed.
  14. This change that what one could call a "nerf" to the TFs, is basically going to make the prices for the already rare recipes to sky rocket. The market system is inevitably going to kill this game.
  15. So anyways, we (villains) had the dimensional riversion and of course the statue of Lord Recluse was in place of Atlas, the lighting was pretty cool and I decided to take a screen of my brute. I was too lazy to figure out how to disable the UI otherwise my health/stamina bar would've been removed. Anyways here it is.

    Actually he's spot on. It requires very little skill to hit BU + AIM + Power boost Bitter ice blast, ice blast, and then TF or Bone smasher.

    What exactly does that mean? If you own CoV/CoH you dont' get free access?
