    "Yes...i am superior, im am a Templar of the Countess, and i will not be stopped by a lowly creature such as yourself!"
    Raising his hand the flames around him began to flicker towards him, bringing his hands down hard on the ground it erupted in a fireball surrounding himself and unless he had avoided it, his opponent.
    The flames roared, an obscuring column of heat, smoke and fire burning where Leon had stood. Eventually they began to clear, a dark silhoute stood in the midst.
    Leon looked up, one eyebrow raising archly. The flames hadn't even touched his suit, let alone his skin. He raised a fist, flicking his fingers and causing the last few errant sparks of electricity to dissapitate.
    "'Templar of the Countess'...there are thing that have crawled off the underside of my boot that are superior to the likes of you. Lowly creature? It's nice to provide a definition of yourself. Now, where was I...ah, yes. Die."
    Leon lunged forward, teleporting across the distance in the blink of an eye, blade moving expertly in one hand.

    "Lawrence!" Marie shouted, jumping from the titans shattered knee and beginning to brutalise the other one.
    "I'm on it, I'm on it!" her younger brother shouted back, already arching his flight path directly in line with the soaring missiles. His eyes glowed blood red, pupils becoming black slits, even as fire roared in his palms.
    "Heat necessary to breach a missile casing, with sufficient force left to detonate payload, incendiary level sufficient to assure complete detonation and dispersal...adjust for wind speed, direction and ambient temperature..."
    Blasts of fire arched skyward, volley after volley thrown upwards with extreme force to meet the missiles head on, with the aim of detonating them before they had a chance to land.

    Heh, don't count on that dude. Theres a LOT of stuff that the same could be said for, across costumes, gameplay, powers and ATs.

    Rest assured, though, the devs do read the boards.

    Without you the Nighthunters will fall....perhaps we could save you for the very end, as you are quitting now, right?"

    Erez'Zul started laughing, his eyes turning to the giant robot again, the whites of his eyes burning a bright red-
    And Leon DeFeurard was stood in front of him.
    "Y'know, chap, I simply can't abide superior scumbags who'll kick a man while he's down," he said matter of factly, at the same time bringing the katana up and falling on Erez'Zul with an onslaught of cuts and thrusts. "So...how's about I send you back to little Miss Superior, hmm? In pieces. Cure this!"

    Meanwhile, the younger DeFeurards kept at the robot, Marie leaping and vaulting from one leg to another, occasionaly blinking between the distances in a strange blurr, while Lawrence applied intense firepower to whatever joints looked the most vulnerable.

  6. Adding a comment to this, as this topic highlights an interesting QoL feature;

    -Any badge that requires more than one badge/defeats should have an expandable list of which badges you HAVE and which ones you DONT HAVE.
    -This should also apply to defeat x,y and z badges, such as the Praetorian Guard badge. I.E. it should list the required AVs, and highlight them once they have been defeated.

    Just my 0.2

  8. Jinpachi Mishima from Tekken 5.
    "Oh look, it's Jin's Grandad's dad who's now part demon and...uh...wants to kill us in the..tournament? Because...he...wait, what the hell are we on here, dude?"

    Or, the shorter version;
    "Christ on a stick, you cheating [EXPLETIVE!!] Go to HELL! YOU [EXPLETIVE!!]"

    Because damn, did he cheat like hell. Teleportation, unblockable attacks, stupidly fast moving and fast attacks and more damage than Ogre from Tekken 3...even my brother, a die-hard Tekken fan, was reduced to grumbling.
    And...what is it he's trying to do again? *shrug*

    Will come back if I think of any good game/film ones I know of...
  9. I don't think I can /SIGN this hard enough

Iron Man could quite easily be a Blaster (likely Energy/Dev or Energy/Energy depending on the writer) and simply use the durability of his armor to represent the fact that he can shrug off a few bullets before he goes down.

    If you want canon demonstrations, Positron lives in a suit of armor and is a Rad/Rad Defender/Corruptor. He's not some special Rad/Invuln combination due to the fact that he lives in a suit of armor. The armor makes his normally humanly squishy body resilient enough to actually go out and hero about.
    Yeah. He also has Elite Boss/Hero level HP and resistances, not to mention his Overload Godmode power. He might as WELL be Rad/Rad/Invuln, because that's how he plays out.

    We've been through all this before. Multiple times in fact. The base truth of the matter is that it IS possible to make a Blast(Or Assault)/Armour AT without over-powering to the point of Tankmagery. And thats what the definition of 'tankmage' is, anyway; overpowered. I don't think theres a single OP'd AT in the game as of yet. Really tough? Sure! Tankers can and do go toe-to-toe with Recluse and co. Really really destructive? Step up Fire/Fire/Fire blasters, where death simply becomes part of the attack chain.
    Over-powered? None yet.

    A Blast(Or Assault)/Armour AT would really help fill a gap in the available concepts in character creation. Right now, if you want anything close to a DP/SR character, you effectively have to spend a but-tonne of inf on IOs. And thats after wrangling a build that will likely be far from optimal.

    The concept is sound, the implementation is possible, the rewards are worth it.
    I still fail to see any of the so-called downsides (other than workload, which is a given on anything really) that people are latching onto.
  11. Even I lack a picture to describe how much win that is
  12. Leon and Lawrence landed beside Marie, having finally finished with their mission of mercy to the tortured occupants of the titans gantries. The DeFeurard sire growled quietly, lips curling slightly with distaste.
    "Disgusting creation. If it is the work of Bathory, the girl's just gone down in my estimates. And that's saying something. Bring it to it's knees," he added with a sideways glance. "Where it belongs."
    The DeFeurard siblings nodded once, before rejoining the fray. This time all three focussed their attacks on the things legs, Leon attacking the right knee, Marie the left, while Lawrence hovered behind it, blasting the joints with barrages of intense flame, attempting to cause an over-heat and siezure even if the other two could not cause direct physical damage.
  13. It puzzled me too. However, for me at least, I've noticed a huge difference. My MM is hitting the fly cap now, and even my level 24 PB is pratically zipping around with Hover. Even my WS is going faster in Squid form.

    It's all good.

    Is it confirmed?

    Brrrrrraaaaaaiinnsss....

  15. Basic run down of what it should be (IMO, anyhow);

    Paragon: Hero tips, Vigilante Tips, Rogue Tips
    Rogue Isles: Villain tips, Rogue Tips, Vigilante Tips

    There may be some wierd tech issue in the way we don't know about. But, basically, if your a vigilante in the Isles, you should be able to stay a vigilante, or take the plunge into Villain. Theres little to no point of having just Villain choices there. It kind of defeats the immersion and...purpose?
  16. Overhaul the UI, sure.
    Let me click on a line to select something, rather than the god damned cursor doing whatever it god damed wants!
    Seriously, text boxes have been narfed since I14 came out. You have to make judicious use of click, re-clicking, scrolling with the arrow keys, swearing cos the damn thing just skipped to the end again, nearly losing your rag when it refuses to enter a new line/backspace, and- you get my drift.

    That, and the UI is kinda boring these days. /Signed to that overhaul
  17. Just add the difficulty contacts.
    That way everyones happy. *shrug*
  18. Sorry, I for one would much rather have something a lot more options, like a Rikti EAT.

    While having different character rigs would be cool, it would also be a huge problem for the animations and powers teams, which takes up a significant chunk of anything except scenery going live.
  19. I'm guessing you mean 'design a future, Going Rogue linked character'. Since, y'know, GR is already out

    Still pretty neat.
    Oh, and; Devs hate EU!
  20. Does this thing have a day job working for someone named 'Khorne' by any chance?

    <The Blood is life>

    Blood dripped from the titan’s skull, flowing from its eyes, nose and jaws, only to suddenly spray with incredible force. The blood was tainted, mixed with the blood of various vampires, to have it enter your system would no doubt leave a mortal man bound to the will of the vampire donors, and cursed to rise from their grave upon death.

    But it was not the infection that made this attack dreadful, but the pressure, the blood flowed with such restrained force that it became in effect a hydro-cutter, capable of sheering through steel.
    The blood caramalised in mid-jet, before burning off with a rancid and thoroughly sickening smell that was offensive to every olfactory sense in existence.
    Leon lowered his hand, the palm glowing slightly from the jet of flame he had just unleashed.
    "Hmn. Frontal assault; bad idea. Plan B, m'dear," he shouted to Marie, teleporting away before the thing could spew again. She nodded, backflipping off the construct and freefalling to the floor, landing perfectly with cat-like grace, before launching herself at the things knees, hacking ferociously at any exposed joints and servos she could.

    Lawrence and Leon, meanwhile, set to the victims bound to the giant construct, Leon delivering what mercy and relief he could with quick movments of his blade, before Lawrence immolated the bodies, leaving nothing but ash to prevent them rising as undead.
    "We do what we can, in this veil of tears," Leon muttured, as if quoting something, a sad expression on his face as he worked.
  22. "Tch." Leon flicked ash from the cigar, taking a last drag before crushing it to ash in his palm. "Angels, demons, banishment...give me a good old fashioned stake and a fight anyday," he muttured, before clapping Lawrence on the shoulder. "See to all that flipping metal confetti, will you lad? Marie, dear, we've got some mechanical backside to kick."

    ~~~
    Huge gouts of flame scorched the air, shrapnel and exploding flames either melted or blown away on the updraft from the blankets of fire. Below them, Lawrence DeFeurard hovever with a calculating look on his face, occasionally muttering calculations aloud as he burned off the oxygen in the air around the shrapnel to produce a flame hot enough to destory it before it ever touched the ground.
    Meanwhile, a pair of figure suddenly stepped out of thin air, right in front of the skull 'head' of the Demon Titan.
    "Good afternoon, chap!" Leon exclaimed, grinning a little madly as his katana appeared in his hand. "Now, I can't contend with that pretty speech, but I'll do my best. I'm a complete and utter b*stard with attitude and new score to settle with the Court. Shoot me all you want; I'll spit your bullets right back at you. Step on me and I'll work my way in through your feet and bite you in the @rse. As we used to say back at school, Petro Abyssus; Go to Hell!"
    So saying, Leon and Marie lunged at the thing, Marie drawing twin swords out of the air as she and her father began to attack the giant construct square in the face.
  23. *shrugs* Kronos titans aren't that scary, even if it has got a ton of nearly-corpses, and it's spouting Latin
  24. "...Is he ill? Possessed? Just plain damn stupid?"
    "Surprisingly, it would appear not. Or, at least, people don't seem to consider him so, dear."
    "I could always crack him open and do an autopsy. Funnily enough, the brain does actually show certain signs of-"
    "Come on, Lawrence, less science right about now. Get your mind back on the arcane, if you please."
    "Father, that thing down there isn't magical. At least, it's shell isn't. Malta, did you say?"
    "Yes, after the Knights of Malta. Who, if I may say so myself, have fallen quite a way in my esteem."
    Three figures stood atop one of the taller buildings, watching the scene unfurl, listening to the Priests tirade.
    "He's going to get absolutely flattened," the attractive young lady in skin-tight red quipped, flicking a tress of long black hair over her shoulder. "Pulped. Obliterated. Creamed...No, cheesed, even."
    "Perhaps not," the black haired man next to her replied, brushing a bit of lint off his white suit. "He does seem fairly adept with a multitude of powers. That and, despite everything, he's quite hard to kill by the sounds of it."
    "Something to put to the test, perhaps," the bespectacled, brown-haired younger man on his other side murmured, before brushing off his black trenchcoat as he stood up from a crouch on the edge of the building. "Are we here to do anything, father? Or just to observe?"
    Leon DeFeurard's eyes blazed behind his ruby glasses as he glared at the giant robot.
    "No," he stated, glancing at his daughter and the eldest of the two, Marie DeFeurard, then her younger brother, Lawrence DeFeurard. "Fighting, war and conflict is one thing. Murdering children? You know what I taught you about that."
    They both nodded. Children were defenceless, temporarily innocent. Once a human reached eighteen or nineteen they were fair game, either which way. But not before then, and certianly not children. The same went for the elderly.
    "After all," their father went on, moving to the edge of the building and taking a casual glance at the dizzying drop off the edge, "We have standards. And remember; balance. No...we shall see what the pacifist can achieve, if anything. Then it's time to show these mongrel dogs what real vampires can do." He grinned toothily, pulling a cigar from his waistcoat pocket and lighting it with a snap of his fingers. "Time to even the odds, hmm?"
