Quote:Exactly what I've been trying to say. Give people some credit here. If given a tool, some folks can do some crazy things with it without the instruction of others.I guess me and you are the only ones. Even if you consider the knowledge and technology back then I would of still tried to water bend after an animal drinks thinking that it would help me bend them...only to discover that they are mostly made out of water.
There are other tricks that I would try with the other elements also like making vacuums with airbending or pressurized globes of air ect. -

Quote:cry doom moar, plzExactly my point. Thank you. Between power creep, class homogenization, pay-for-performace, etc. CoH has been dumbed down to the point there is no need to do anything beyond faceroll the keyboard.
Wonder how long 'til achievement badges can be bought in the store.. -
In your opinion. I think he's the perfect mix of realistic and super heroic enough to fit in the Marvel Movie Universe without stretching things too much. And I've always liked his character. The Avengers could always use another level headed bad *** on their team.

We used to get all sorts of small team/TF style content. Then iTrials happened :\
So I completely agree it'd be great to focus on more stuff like this again. -
Quote:Port Oakes doesn't need to be remade. None of the villain zones do, to be honest. Although I wouldn't mind if they placed the second Black Helicopter in Nerva in a better, farther spot.Vill zone I'd like remade: Port Oakes (spend far too little time there really outside of getting two Mayhems) or St. Martial (Could have tons more potential...) Heroside Kings Row or Skyway...
But anyway, villainside zones just need more content. Port Oakes has a lot of really great spots in it I'd hate to see lost. Would be great if they shot out some more content for the zone involving possibly making the Family neutral and you getting involved with them, for better or worse. -

I don't mind the super Packs so much, 'cause they come with a lot of stuff that I have used that aren't just the costume parts.
That said, it is pretty lousy to stick costume parts in here and say it's the only way to ever get them. Customization's such a huge draw in this game. We were just recently pitted against two other competitors in a contest to see who had the best customization options, and pretty much dominated over them. It's a little sad to see the devs take advantage of that so they can make people gamble on their real world market. -
If they can be traded, looks like you'll have to sell 'em the old fashioned way until the AH bug is fixed.

Was hoping for Black Panther

Praetoria 1-20: Great. Really good storylines, four branches of which that you can swap between at various points throughout your story. Amazing environments and maps. Memorable characters. Very shades of gray about morality. Really does a good job immersing you in Emperor Cole/Tyrant's city, while building you up as a powerful Loyalist/Resistance member.
Praetoria 21-40: Ball has been dropped. One linear storyline that completely disregards who you were during 1-20 content, regardless of if you were Loyalist or Resistance. First Ward is a very well designed map. Night Ward, however, is literally copy and paste with a different paint job. Overall story is forgettable and feels like a side adventure that has no real importance or impact on Praetoria or Primal Earth. Enemy groups include black knights with Warhammer-esque armor/weapons, British cops who act as grim reapers, sentient spells, and self appointed warriors of the Well of Furies.
I highly recommend playing through Nova Praetoria, Imperial City, and Neutropolis. After that, though, IMO NW and FW should just be skipped over. They're not even technically Praetorian content. Anyone, hero, villain, or otherwise, can run them. And they're such a departure from the style laid out by the 1-20 content that it's incredibly jarring to transition into First Ward. -

Quote:It was the same dam wall. Everything about it was the same, except they made the cracks no longer impossibly hard to get out of, and they made it look like it was actually being rebuilt. Someone posted a video awhile back of the old Faultline, and it literally looks the same as the update except with more with scaffolds, updated buildings, and elevators to help folks out of the cracks. It's not even a matter of opinion, it is a cold hard fact the new Faultline is better than the old in every way.In fact, I'd really like to see the old Faultline as an Echo. That place was pointless, but it was ten times as visually impressive as new Faultline. I thought the deep cracks and the AMAZINGLY huge dam wall were some of the best sights in the game.
I honestly believe you just want to be "That guy" who always has to disagree and be upset with everything everyone likes. -
Quote:What's wrong with practice? He stumbles upon a skill, finds out how powerful it is, practices with it, abuses it. Just like any other bender, or really anyone ever with any kind of skill ever. They had to explain with Hama because they introduced an entirely new skill. Bloodbending isn't new anymore, though, so why explain it again?Except Hama explained it to Katara, and by extension the viewer, how she realized water was a part of the body when denied access to it and the idea was foreshadowed by the swamp benders. Her discovery was laid out in a manner that made sense in the story. Yakone, on the other hand, can do it because... practice? We don't know. We aren't given anything that suggests where he picked up the ability, how he honed the skill, or even that he was naturally gifted water bender. They built up a little mystery but provided possibly the least satisfying answer. More importantly, they tied that mystery to the antagonist. It's a far larger problem than things that were largely played for Rule of Cool.
You're looking way to into this and expecting far too much. -
Quote:How did Hama learn it? Oh yeah, she randomly discovered it, which is something any other waterbender can do. How would it be deus ex machina to also discover a technique when he has just as much ability to do so as her? And how is it a stretch for Yakone to not only be a naturally gifted water bender, but also work hard to specialize in bloodbending the very same way Toph specialized in metalbending and grew stronger in it? He discovered a technique and practiced it. Not that hard to figure out.And just where did Yakone learn the technique? Oh yeah... he knew it because he knew it. After all, the only two individuals with knowledge of the technique were an old woman who was incarcerated and the water bending master that outlawed it. Even if he learned if from Hama in prison (the only reasonable scenario I can conceive, outside of him discovering it which is the same deus ex machina), it was still a stretch to master it without movement and without the moon... and, of course, without explanation. It would have only taken a few lines of exposition to sort out an answer. They stretched the canon of what could be done which is fine provided they reason it out; however, they didn't.
Did you nitpick this hard when Azula bent blue fire without explanation, or every time Combustion Man created explosions with his mind? -
Technically they aren't, or else they would be flagged to occur only during the Halloween season.
-
Somewhat unrelated, but since this new event, along with the Spring Fling and Holidays, are gated behind a specific season, any chance of doing the same for the Zombie and Banner events from Halloween?

Quote:Overreact much?it's in game time, they do not tic down when you are logged out.
That said I think they are one of the worst things ever put in the game. "I can't play the game so I will throw money at it and make it easier...." or worse yet, eventually they will make it so this type of booster is required for certain things, if not the whole game. That is something I expect out of Blizzard. Why not just sell maxed out level 50 toons while you are at it? I am sure they would sell well. And we get more people not knowing how their character works... -
Probably not. They didn't abridge his movie and just skipped right over it, so they'll probs skip over his filler saga. Which would be great.

It's not like they're withholding a fix just to piss players off.
