  1. Daddy Longleg, the hippie spider, protests Tyrant's un-friendly to the environment methods on the streets of Praetoria with his fellow hippie spiders.

Tie-dyed arachnos fliers with enviro-friendly fuel or something.
  2. Meh they suck anyway. Ill keep using my real dmg procs and purples kthx.

If you can only pull off something close like 43% or 44% def to some dmg type in your build, it can at the very least have the extra push needed for soft cap in most cases.

    Shield Offense

Instead of making an entirely new shield offense set, just make alternate animations for SS users weilding shields, involving shield bashing, smiting and even throwing ur shield (hurl)
  5. Not sure if you'd like mine, rely's on NR+sprint (and jump pack) for travel, it has a gladiator in it so the cost jumps up a buttload, but yea:

  6. Just a quick question, does critical hit calculate into the DPS of the scrapper primary attacks? If not would that be possible? Critical hits effecting dps so i can compare scrap dmg to brute dmg a bit more accurately
  7. Be cool if dom's could get something like High pain threshold from /WP as like a last tier, or some auto-hp buff of some kind. Not sure how well that'd sit with people like Castle and Arcanaville though.
  8. Realistic Undead costume parts (including see through bones/ripcages/etc) Not possible? If possible I vote make an undead themed booster
  9. Glad it helped, I'm not 100% sure if its gonna be a permanent fix or not but according to you and of course for me no lockup's along with that specific driver so far.

The problem is we can't stay attached to the 185.85 driver forever, eventually there will be a new driver actually worth upgrading to (or that we NEED to upgrade past 185.85 for) but for our sake I hope it doesnt bring back the crashes from the newer drivers.
  10. I was having the exact same thing on CoH a while back, thankfully it only happened a few times before I was able to remedy it. Full system hangs definitely aren't fun, not only are they hard on your hardware but they're completely unstoppable (aside from finding and fixing the real issue).

Anyway for me I'm using a gtx 285, but we're both using windows 7 64 bit. I looked at all the stickied threads for win 7 related crashes and did the regedit stuff and all the properties/compatability mode stuff and with recent drivers still got the full system hangs.

The ONLY thing that fixed the full system hangs for me was reverting to a fairly early driver (crashes were present in nVidia 196.'s) crashes are gone when using the 64bit 185.85 drivers. So just looking at your driver version you could maybe go back a little further (to one with an older physx version) and hopefully that works. This is assuming this isn't a ghost in the recesses of ur machine (aka a hardware prob).

PS. I've also noticed full system hangs much like the CoH one in 2 other programs, a few times in photoshop cs3 after having copied images over and then zooming into the picture, and once when maximizing windows media player oddly enough. (Havent noticed either of these since i've cleaned my registry however)

A part of me has a gut feeling something about Windows 7 is to blame for all this but that's just wishful thinking.
  11. Want to play my Wii at the desktop with my computer LCD (Dont have a TV and even if I did I don't watch TV so its a waste of money)

Got a VGA cable, adjusted my Wii using a HD TV and set the screen to EDTV/HDTV. Set it up to my monitor (HDinput for the computer, VGA input being for the wii) boot up the wii, picture looks fine, set up my wii sensor under the monitor and everything works fine.

Only problem is I have no where (that I know of) I can put the L/R sound jacks, my comp's speakers don't have any extra input ports or anything. (Just for Headphones but that's it) So while I can still technically play my Wii, I'd like to actually be able to here sound lol.

I'm guessing I gotta buy an extra cable or something for speakers so I can hear the sound from the Wii?

(this is the VGA cable btw) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ArIj-EUlevI

Totally unrelated to CoH but yea, any ideas/suggestions would be appreciated.
  12. My Kat/wp's current build, expensive, no travel (other than ninja run) but yea I like it anyways:

    help on kat/wp

Kat/WP favors capping typed def. On some /wp builds ive seen some people able to do ok with trying to just cap melee/range but in kat/'s case just go for f/c/e/n.

For AV's you probably dont need it perse but your defenitely going to 'want' those soft capped defs, and make sure ur capping melee with parry as well if said AV melees alot of lethal or smashing.
  15. Juicy Info:

So after i17 we get GR, which im guessin will release with a small i18 update,
and then in i19 we're getting:

•Incarnate end game system: 10 new "Incarnate" levels with new powers, story arcs and other stuff I'm sure, we get a "taste" of it included in GR

•i20+ will include Staff/Polearms, Base Raid revamps, possible PvP changes, and other new powersets.
  16. This is on a nvidia card if it makes any diff... So i guess this is a question in relations to nvidia users.

Currently using a 22'' lcd at 1680x1050, and have always been wondering about fsaa and its effects.

Now usually i just run at 4x fsaa, application controlled in nvidia control panel, but i know my card lets me go up to 16x, this obviously isn't supplied in the CoH graphics menus but alas is accessable via slash command.

Whenever I do turn it on it sorta seems to make some things appear more well-constructed and less jaggy far off, but in alot of cases 16x makes things seem more jaggy then 4x, especially like on things close and on your character, 8x does the same thing but is a middle ground between 16 and 4 of course.

I'm wondering if this is just because 16x is too much for a 1680x1050 res? And if I were using a 30'' lcd and at 2560x1600 the 16x could actually yield a visual benefit? Cause as of right now 4x looks better on my res and runs smoother. Could potentially be a CoH thing as 16x does seem to work better with games like Arkham Asylum etc.

Just wondering if anyone notices this or could go into more detail. Oh, and regarding visscale, is there any way to keep /visscale 4 permanent? Sucks having to change it back every time i zone/relog.
  17. Yeah the rivatuner and speedfan are pretty much there for a single reason,

rivatuner so i can control my own gpu fanspeed (nvidia driver ones get hot wayy too fast) and speedfan just for any easy way to monitor all temps.

FYI the gtx 285 i have is OC'd a bit but its factory OC'd, ive done nothing with it in that regard.

So far reverting back to the older 185.85 driver has not only gave more stable performance in CoH, its eliminated the crashing completely, so for now im just going to stick with that driver until a newer driver releases that manages to fix whatever is causing it or I have no other choice.
  18. Over the past few weeks (since upgrading from the 185.85 nvidia drivers, to the 196.21 and now 197.13 drivers) I've been getting crashes in CoH, but I've also noticed a crash or two in Photoshop cs3 as well.

These crashes are full system hangs, cursor freezes, can't alt tab or anything. Resulting in a power button shut down.

The photoshop one has happened 2 or 3 times, however i've also reinstalled cs3 since then and have yet to notice the full system hangs from that since. That usually happened when I was using a paint brush or eraser tool and I might've been zoomed in on the pic as well if that has any relevance.

The CoH crashes are also full system hang-age, which is kinda scary cause usually CoH will give an error report or let you alt tab, task manager your way out of it. I've noticed this a few times, once when I loaded into atlas and came back from being alt-tabbed out, and the others we're in missions. When the crash happens i can hear a sound loop, I see the spinning Windows 7 thinking cursor, but I can't do anything, am able to move the mouse around briefly andddd then full system hang.

I WAS using newer drivers than the 185.85 or w/e when i first started using windows 7 in december, but CoH did get crashes with that before so I went back to older ones and they seemed to stop. I upgraded to some of the most recent drivers because of the new physx release with the slight hope that Nvidia cleaned up its act in regards to sloppy Win 7 64 bit support so far.

I should also note that all my anti viruses, and trend micro scan, come up nada for any malware/viruses, so I should be good in that dept. (I hope)

So I'm kinda wondering whats up, those 2 programs are so far the only ones i've noticed the full system hang with, everything else seems to work fine.

    Long post, but yeah.

This full system hang isn't an every day thing either, it pops up every now and then.

I should mention that as far as hardware upgrades go I put in a new GPU, new ram, and a new CPU over the past 6 months into this comp. I've tested each and from what it seems up till about a month ago when I started getting these crashes the PC had been running smoothly, no blue screens, no overheating or anything. (even ran memtests on the new ram)

So yeah, if someone has any ideas let me know. Or if anyone else is having similiar problems might be worth mentioning incase I'm not the only one.

I'm hoping this isn't a gpu driver/windows 7 related issue -_- (Reverting back to drivers that don't crash will suck for new games / ultra mode etc)

    *UPDATE
Reverted back to the 185.85 driver and so far no crashes, may have to stay this way until something get fixed
  19. New Stuff to do, I hope the GR content is worth the time.

and the "End Game system", more stuff to do on my 50s is what I really want.

I want a Map maker and more types of possible "events" for MA as well, I don't care how hard it is, that is something I hope we eventually get and is the one critical thing that MA lacks.

Oh, and along with the above comment, new maps for CoH/V in general is direly needed IMO.

Adding in all the unique/missing maps from missions back into the MA that were never added or bugged is a good start.
  20. This is why I kinda like being in control of my temps.

    For those interested:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXr6IIj1sLY - RivaTuner auto-fan control tutorial

While you could technically revert to an older driver, you can keep the driver and at the same time with this prog your GPU wont die.

I don't trust default fan speeds even when the driver's aren't faulty
  21. No to the first one (without third party macro use)

Yes to the 2nd one, use /bindloadfile or w/e everytime you press x button for form switching, that sets the bind for TPing if your in dwarf, and then have it bind something new to set it back when you transform back.

You could maybe try to but I know that it would be worse for this build. With Stam+QR and the IOs in this build CP is pointless, the only end issues you may see is if your fighting a very tough AV or a pylon. And when the enemy x is down to 15% Health (or whatever) all u have to do is turn off tactics or turn on SoW and ur end will go up again.

The extra bit of regen from PP could be nice but reaallly is not needed especially since u'd have to get CP or FA to get it.

As for Hasten this build already cranks out roughly 200dps without it and has more than enough recharge for an AV downing attack chain.

The Soft cap numbers are 45.1% for Energy and Negative Energy and 46% for Fire and Cold, so yea its barely pulling it off but its pulling it off nonetheless.

GD slotting has OK DPS, but getting the endurance and recharge up is kinda important to. Other than that the slotting is mostly just personal preference. The Erad's help soft cap so really the rest is just open game. One alternative would be to put a lady grey proc in place of the glad proc if you don't have money/time to afford it and u could get a little extra HP and dmg out of it in the meantime.

This is my kat/wp's current build, 2.2k hp, soft capped f/e/c/n and all that, 200ish dps, but no SJ tho this build uses ninja run and sprint for added speed as the form of travel, you could ditch tactics or something and slot BU with gaussians if you really wanted SJ.

    Test Server Down

1 Thing i've noticed so far, the UI for the login screen, specifically the borders around the text, has changed. A little bit more squareular (Ill make that a word) but still Roundish.
