Quote:I'm only curious here but if the server list has been merged that must mean the database now recognises all CoH players, NA & EU, so surely EU players can log into NA test or am I mistaken.Well, I'd hoped that they'd followed through when they said they were merging the test servers for equalitys sake.
Obviously I was wrong, and should expect to resume normal shafting services from now on out

I am thoroughly enjoying all the new additions to refreshing CoH for the modern player. One of the most encouraging, and basic fundamentals, is that the likes of Ultra Mode offer new machines and players a fresh and modern outlook of City Of' yet it is optional so as not to distance themself from original players still on Windows 98.
Keep this work coming, it is invigorating the game once more.

Quote:Whilst I agree it seems like a massive "gimp" to the original status, I somewhat disbelieve Interface was truly WAI. In operation it may be, but in the less subtle mechanics such as the limit/caps it may not have.This.
There has to be a better answer than the stupid 10s rule; and the 1 target thing better be a bug.
What's next? Should my damage aura also only hit one target at a time? <_<
Of course Incarnates are meant to provide you with more power, if we compare Interface: Reactive to any other Interface Incarnate slot there is no argument that Reactive is, relatively speaking, incredibly "OP".
Fury -
Quote:Even when only proccing once every 10s, Reactive will still be very good.
EDIT: It could only be limited to one target as well as the 10s, see below.
There appears to be a change to rain powers on the test server, check out the test server discussion here. There are no specifically released notes but it seems Reactive will be drastically changed, not finalised as of yet, but its effect changed.
A heads up for those curious as to the current, live, operation of Interface.

Quote:I take your double and raise you a triple:I can officially confirm that Issue 21 does indeed contain stuff.
There's cool stuff.
There's new stuff.
There's needed stuff.
Hopefully there's not any broken stuff.
The only stuff that I can definitively state will not be included in Issue 21 is...

Quote:I concur with Silas, lately the Incarnate-Trials have delivered a more noticeable effect of "greyed-out" temporary powers, although this does not explain the effect affecting Incarnate powers it may be linked. The bug is a little arbitrary in nature at times.Maybe related to the TF temp powers bug? I don't know a lot about it but what I've read seems to be that temp travel powers are sometimes greyed out and sometimes aren't.

Quote:If you are referring to "crafting" a recipe: recipe + salvage = enhancement. Go to the 'University' in Cap Au Diable (via ferry) and head inside via the main doors, there are clickable tables that pop-up giving you a list of crafting choices. For non-standard Inventions (Those with peculiar names) look for 'Inventions' under this menu.Hope this is the correct place to ask...
Ok, sounds lame, but cant find it (i already ask google)
Where u could "cook" recipes in SharkIsland?
You will require the recipe + salvage + crafting cost.

I understand the frustration of the EU-side here, I honestly do, but I can't see them making any changes. The way the system is and has been has led to the long-term effects whereby @Global is taken, and now it may clash with EU merge @Globals. I do not foresee them deleting or changing accounts that are "inactive" or even "banned". I have one account that is "banned" (because I meant to add CoH to CoV Account rather than a new account) and it has sat there all along.
I didn't log into the game luckily enough to create a @Global that some poor person would have rather enjoyed - I understand this. I advocate they cleanse @Globals for permanent banned accounts (very few I surmise) which in all honesty won't have an effect on the grander scale.
Trial accounts, perhaps they could cleanse @Globals for them and begin a system of @TA_<globalname> to fix that (after all TAs are not going to appreciate the bigger picture in the TA timeslot) but I can't see them deleting their accounts. Namely because the likelihood of a new, or original player, choosing the same Global may create confusion or clashes or may technically be impossible. I'm not an expert in this system but there must be a reason banned accounts are not even deleted.
Purging inactive accounts is as creating a black hole in a very gradual MMPORG social system, even two players that changed their name completely I still take time to register. Doing the above would be kicking the hornets nest because, again it is down to damage mitigation, would they rather have a collision on the cost of the least percentile or would they rather have a monstrous task of the larger percentile complaining. I fore-see that those seeking the opportunity would change their global (I am already seeing drastically flippant global name changes) and create a bigger hole whereby everyone wants to log-on and get that @global but again I reiterate: too late; they weren't available; beat to the chance, etc.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that whilst purging inactive/banned/etc accounts is a good idea, I somewhat disbelieve it will have the effect we all hope for.
The final conclusion is that rather the smaller percentile of EU being "shafted" so to speak; you have basically everyone going nuts.
I am not against you nor any EU players in this predicament, but I just can't see it happening - sorry.

Since crafting a VR via Rares, etc is set at 400m and 100m respectively I do not fore-see values of VRs around 50m-100m. I'd guess ~200-300m but I have no idea of the amount of supply it would generate so my plausibility is out the window.
I'd pay ~500m for VR, I organise trials quite quickly so the monetary value - for me - is not primary.

Quote:Unfortunately, I hate to say this, they had to perform some form of damage mitigation and that meant us. In the bigger picture (I have no numbers) but NA must outpopulise us by a lot. I appreciate, this is not meant distasteful, that doesn't justify the actions but I can imagine these forums lighting up like christmas if NA got the blow...
My suggestion:
A simple fix to this would be after the reactivation week to issue all active accounts a global rename token and simultaneously purge any (NA) globals that are on inactive accounts (and trials) that were NOT activated during the reactivation period.
(If they have activated then they will of recieved our game 'gleemail' requests regarding each global.)
I think a global purge will aggravate a lot of people and it'll start a whole new argument:
- "The purge was on at midnight, I didn't get a chance to try my @Global, now I lost it"
- "I was here first."
- "I have more veteran status."
- "<insertglobal> is a $$$$"

You don't want to see it all in Ultra Mode spectacularity?!
It's butayful.

I won't repeat everything since I do not wish to spam, but everyone who participated in the Praetorian Invasion in particular Peregrine Island - check yourself out in Ultra Mode.
This is for a point of reference, a lot of players were asking for screenshots and non-forum users will most likely try here.
Union invaded: Praetorian Invasion in Ultra Mode.

Updated with Part 2, and finish!
Fury -
I could add a lot to this discussion if one requires ticket data, I cap out quite frequently so if there needs to be any help just ask.
I find myself using silver simply because 3x 9999 Bronze rolls is really too time-tasking when It is simply a side-effect of my runs. Often silver rolls grant me a lot of good quality IO's that are the costlier of the builds.

That was only PI-Instance 2, I have another set of PI-1 with many more heroes however I think I might have broke the forums.
EDIT: I had to resize them, I was concerned by uploading them in this format a lot of people would have had trouble viewing the thread. If anyone thinks it will be fine, I will post Part 2 which is even better, in full view to see UM at it's best.
I decided to make an addendum of Part 2 into this post so as to keep the collusion of the photos.
Without further adieu:
Part 2:
Peregrine Island.
Finish. I apologise if this was excessive but a lot of players barely managed the event with low graphics so I wanted to do them justice - especially not leave them out.

At 6PM, May 9th: The Praetorian Invasion.
I give you..
Union!
Hold on a minute.. what is this, 1996?
Ultra Mode
I also had a storyline attached to it but one half has taken 1000words already, and I don't want my readers to go "oh lord" at the sight of so much reading. I will negotiate with myself the best way to put it on the forums.

I had this problem loading Grandville, something bigger on the zone at the time crashed anyone loading that zone. A simple petition/ email to support will get them to reset you at another zone, I logged onto Mercy Island a few hours later.
Other than that, have you had trouble prior to Ourorobos, any hardware changes?
Fury -
I have a few(10-20) of Union in both Peregrine Island Instance, I could not but add a story so will be here shortly.

I wholeheartedly agree, this list merge was a fantastic idea and dare I say it will sustain the global (or was EU) community in the 4 servers.
I understand the significance of everyones loss at their identity but why are some people changing from "Fred" to "MegaManZero" or "GreenBlur" to "Jon" for example.
Why can't you add a "." and save your name? It is what x2/x3/etc accounts do.
Fury -
Firstly, massive thank you for the Ustream appearance, I enjoyed discovering how much you put into the game lately and what your favourite part of the game is - wait its not released! Your work so far is fantastic, the latest onset of auras has been awesome so keep up the good work!
I would like a transparency aura/setting, I understand this may conflict with stealth but there has been many times where I wanted to create a ghost-like character with an glowing aura. At the moment the only way to do is is to turn the aura up to the brightest to create the effect which can be mind-numbing!
Can't wait for steampunk!

I found Union to be a little laggy, but nothing moreso than 5second power lag which I could cope with. I would have loved to join Virtue, as Freedom will be just too maddening, to see a top-end population invasion but it was in the middle of the night for me.
Was it just overall lagging effects: warping, power lag, unresponsiveness or was it crashes from trying to load the magnitude of the sitatuon?
I had Union on Ultra Mode during Invasion and didn't have too much trouble, I did crash once but that was in tandem with taking a screenshot (possible bug?) at the time.
Where would be the next best server to check out a big invasion, population-wise, excluding Freedom - no disrespect.
