    That is all.
So I can assume you have no answer to the question asked.

It would appear that even the most passionate amongst us about this game and the community here on the boards will not say these forums provide a service that should be recognized as something positive.

So it would not hamper any organized efforts if these boards were taken offline? Unbelievable

Hint: try reading the last sentence - it is a question. Usually the point of a question is an answer.
  4. Given the threats to their business, the advertisements of competitive games and the general negativity being generated on the boards, what reason does this company have to keep these forums going. If they were shut down NOW, any organized attempts at generating a negative ad campaign or boycott would be severely hampered. The few posters - compared to the player base numbers - could try to organize on facebook or someother site, but that would most likely have little success.

So again I ask, why shouldn't this game just pull the plug on these forums - keep the rest of the COH site up but just place a "down for maintenence" sign on the forums?
  5. Bumping this thread to remind people there are still games to be played no matter who makes them. There are some toxic trheads out there from people wishing ill to certain companies and thus wishing more people will lose their jobs. I can't stand by and see these people do this to others with doing something.

    Ever.

If Arenanet breaks away from NCSoft and goes it on their own, I'll gladly support them. Until then? No. Not budging. Can't trust NCSoft.
IT is this kind of thinking that keeps hate alive. Iranian government bad therefore Iranians are a bad people. The people that spent years of their lives developing GW2 had nothing to do with shutting down our little game yet you want them unemployed for some reason. And the funny thing is you are suppose to be a player of a superHERO game. Very honorable yuor thoughts are.

  8. This thread definately has new meaning.

I again want to stress that this is by fans, for fans, and we're not looking to profit off of the CoH IP.
Apologize if this has already been addressed but when they closed down all those Harry Potter fan sites that weren't making money off of anything just posting copy-writed material and images, how could they be foreced to close them down given your logic?

Agreed. When I made a post about me liking GW2, I was called disloyal. What?!?! I played this game since before issue 1 and spent A LOT of money on this game and now because I found a new game because this game is dying I am somehow disloyal.

    Gimme a break!

    Confessions

I like to create threads or respond to certain threads with an unexpected answer or reply. Sometimes this results in threadjacking which often times gets to be so hilarious to me.

    Some examples have included:

The thread where this guy was explaning how he played heroes who were children (often girls). When I pointed out he had the characteristics of a pedophile, he flipped out and the thread quickly got locked after his hostility grew.

Another fun post was in the "What my 6 year old learned playing this game." I wrote that I created in an AE mission where Sister Flame got kidnapped by child molesters and you had to save her before she became victimized. The responses to that one was priceless. Think Mod8 joined that one.

    In game stuff:
I routinely absorb alpha's on pretty much any character I have when the tanks are too slow or want to herd EVERY SINGLE MOB. Once they see my trick arror defender or traps corr taking over the role they think only they have a right to have, they usually whine and rage quit - much to the gratitude of the rest of the team who likes the faster pace I create.

Good times. I will surely miss this game.

Guess it wasn't simple enough for you. The inquiry was concerning keeping up the "pressure". Your answer didn't address that. Troll elsewhere or try harder.

That Wonder Woman clone looks good. I am finding more and more people making clones now that they feel no one is policing them.
  20. With all the talk/reviews on this board lately of how good GW2 is, I had to try it out. Now having played COX since before issue 1 and initally poo-pooing any ideas of playing another MMO, once I actually tried GW2 and went beyond my assumptions that I couldn't find a game that gave me the same satisfaction that COX gave me, I discovered a really fun game.

Thanks for the suggestions all and I encourage others who were in my same mindset to give it a try.

This definitely isn't a business practice I was are of until now. I suspect that's the same for a lot of the people claiming CoH was operating at a loss because NCSoft shut it down.

Though from this context, it definitely explains why MMOs of CoH's vintage (or older) are still operating just fine with smaller and/or independent studios. Or why Cyan Worlds has been able to keep bringing Myst Online Uru Live back from the dead ...
LittleDavid, I don't think you are understanding what is being said because your response doesn't make sense.
  22. Wow. And I thought I had been with this game for a while.
  23. 8) Mothership Raid. Haven't done one of those in years.
