  1. When I was setting up RIS I chose the Paragon Police for the corrupt cops and was surprised to see that they were all SWAT and tactical officers. After todays patch they were changed to uniformed officers and undercover officers, which was what I really wanted from the beginning.

But why are the beat cops in white uniform shirts when the ones I recall from seeing on the street are in all blue uniforms?
  2. I submitted a mission last night, about how long does it take the devs to process and inspect a mission before it shows up in the list for other players?

This entire thread should be a huge honking clue to the Devs that there is something seriously wrong going on.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, they made a game with too much grind and too many repetitive play fields.
  4. Can I test with a team?

1 stalker, single minions as I recall, and my difficulty level is the default.
  5. What I have been seeing is lone, single enemies scattered thinly around the map.

I'll put in an ambush and see how that works.
  6. I am working on an indoor small map villain mission featuring Paragon Police as the enemy and only about 10 of them are showing up for the mission. This seems a bit light to me.

I've got one boss and two collectibles as objectives and one collectible, one patrol (spawning twice) and one ally as optionals.

Does anyone know if any of the objectives can limit the number of enemies that spawn?

This is the thread in which all farming related discussion is supposed to be kept in:

Didn't mommy and daddy pay any attention to you when you were a child?
  8. OK, I fixed the problem by deleting a captive rescue event, I had used an existing villain group for this that I thought was offering me a badguy from level 1-54. I'll try another one with a custom captive.
  9. Deserts, mountains, shoreline/beach, small town, and small town (abandoned/ruined).
  10. There are no errors, and this happens when I try to test it. The mission description indicates it is for levels 1-54.
  11. Anyone got a clue on this?
  12. I come from LotRO, the most story intensive MMOs on the market. I love a good story. I used to play CoH/V, even though the stories were not that interesting (some were, some were not). I stopped playing CoH/V due to the steep exp grind (I tended to solo or duo with a friend) and the repetitive mission environments (back in the warehouse again?).

I came back for the free weekend in order to try the mission editor (I'm a game editor junkie: nwn, aow, homm, etc). I went out on some farm missions last night with a level 2 character who after a few hours is level 23. I do not particularly miss grinding out those first 20 levels at all (been there, done that, many times). More important, I gathered up enough tickets to unlock all the optional content for the editor so I have all the available resources to work with for designing missions. The fighting in the mission itself was pretty intense and a lot of fun in a chaotic, wild west sort of way.

Farming missions are an option, and they abate the advancement problems that made the game unfun for me as a player. I can level up when I want to and do story missions when I want to. I have options, and options are always good.
  13. Anyone know what the editor is trying to tell me when I get the message Level Range Invalid when I try to test my mission? The mission indicates that it is for levels 1-54.
  14. What is it that makes a farming mission what it is? What is different in design from a normal mission?
  15. After doings some testing it appears that you cannot add a "person" to a group, and thus cannot have a "person" used in a patrol or similar, so no crowds of fleeing citizens.

    Oh well.

I don't know about to 50 ( yet ) but I took an at mate from 1-32 in one run. That took about an hour maybe.

I was going to try a 1-50 run. Ill post rresults here is we do it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I've been gone a long time and have just started playing with the mission editor so bear with me, but how the hell can someone go from 1 to 30 in that short a time?

You could add a group of NPC's on patrol, but they won't run around screaming like chickens with their heads cut off.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I was thinking of that, or maybe an ambush, but the whole running in panic thing is kind of important. Time to experiment, I guess they will run if the get close to a badguy.
  18. How does one add civilians to a map? I guess this would take adding a second npc group but I have not figured that out yet.
  19. I created a custom group with a boss, a lt., and two minions. How do I remove some of the types from a patrol? As it stands it appears that all types can be included in the patrol and I wish to only have the minions doing the walking.

if there is a detail enemy set up tutorial or document that will tell me this just point me in that direction, thanks.

Ahhhh...but that is the rub isn't it. YOU haven't given us any middle ground either. Your entire stance is for us to stop doing what we like to do.

Straw Man: The Straw Man fallacy is committed when a person simply ignores a person's actual position and substitutes a distorted, exaggerated or misrepresented version of that position.

Nice try, but what it comes down to is that you want to control how other people play the game via your complaints about what frustrates you personally. You are selfish, it is that simple, and you try to cover it with a pose of erudition.
  21. I haven't played in several years and this is my first try with the mission editor, wasn't sure if npc's followed the same rule as pc's.

Just wait, I'll have more questions soon.

So the weapons are just props for the correct power set?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Yep.

Why, how did you think they were used?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I thought they were inherently powered for use by npcs without any powers. Sort of like giving a gun to a flunky in Champions p&p.
  23. So the weapons are just props for the correct power set?
  24. I haven't picked power sets, which one can use various guns like a SMG or Assault Rifle?
  25. I unlocked a bunch of weapons at the ticket guy but when I got to create a npc I cannot find them to assign them to a npc. Where are they hiding?
