Demo recording is good stuff for some things, not so good for others. Depends on what you are recording.

Actually, in the CO gameplay video, Jack mentioned that it was playing from demo so they might have functionality like that.

I haven't seen a game that had a demo you could have any hope of altering yourself since Air Warrior, though. And that was a LONG time back. Like late 80's.

You can change the angle but you have to get into the demo and change the camera position - then keep it changed. Balshor's demo edit program can do that and so can mine.

Pausing is actually pretty easy, just go into the place in the demo where you want it to pause and make the timing value bigger. Set it to 60000 and it will wait a minute before executing the next command. It's all explained in the demo edit documentation. Try checking the ParagonWiki.

It would be even neater if we could snow.... ummm... if we could make obvious the sheer number of powerset combos out there by having a video for each powerset combination. Let's see, that would be 48 blasters, 56 defenders, ....

OK, so it would take awhile. For one person. So hold a contest. The winner for each powerset combination gets a new car (or a "costume" temp power, if you folks aren't as rich as Microsoft). Deciding the winners would take quite awhile, too, so you might need to set up some sort of voting system.

Video would have to be powerset powers only. No temps, no vet powers, no Ancillary/Patron powers, maybe just travel powers from the pools.

We've got a lot of ace video makers around here but, honestly, there's no way they can cover all of the powerset combinations. That means everybody has a shot! Maybe even me! (I knew my AR/Cold corrupter would come in handy some day!)

Logging out on the Rikti crashed ship should give an alien infiltrator job.

Jeez, there are really TONS of locations in this game, they could be making new jobs for years to come.

On Test, I've got a character that's still in the old Paragon Dance Party. I've got another that has been standing on the roof of the Storm Palace for years now.

I think my villains will be fighting for a weather forecaster job. Today's outlook: sunny. Tomorrow, sunny. 10 day forecast: sunny! Sunrise and sunset times never change. Even the moon phase stays the same! Now that's my kind of work!

The mission creation system sounds like something that will need extensive player testing. Very extensive. Probably should start soon. Like, in a couple of hours.

Actually, just about any character should work if you stick it on the front. The game ignores lines it can't parse. I would use something like a ~ or some other character that isn't likely to show up in the demo. Then you can use search and replace to get rid of all of them easily.

As usual, make a COPY of the demo and work with that, just in case!
