I laughed, that was great.

Too rich for me, but I will say that your art is fantastic.

Quote:Yeah, but outside of sitcoms there aren't any prime-time animated shows, which is what I assume is what they are going for.I would rather see a well-done animated series than a cheesy live-action series. And given the budgetary/technical constraints involved in producing live television, I expect cheesiness.
An animated series that aims for a Batman:TAS or Superman:TAS level of quality, however, would be very welcome. I think it would be easier to sustain than a live-action version. -
Del Toro is awesome, so my hopes just went up... still, it's gonna be hard to make Hulk look right on a TV show's budget.

Quote:Ah yes, that was the other thing I forgot. I read it somewhere not long ago that humans are the best long distance runners.Another of humanity's gimmicks is endurance, surprisingly enough. We may not be especially fast, but we can run forever, comparatively. Persistence hunting is still in use by Kalahari bushmen, among a few others, who can chase prey for up to 4 hours until it simply collapses out of exhaustion.
I suspect it's probably related to brain power in a way, as it allows us to condition our bodies and to push past boundaries. -

Quote:Yeah, I always like it when people say humans don't have "super" powers when comparing us to other creatures. They always forget about the brain, ours is huge and amazingly effective compared to any other creature.Humanity's gimmick, so to say, is our brain power. We're the smartest critter we know of, and we used that to conque the world. So any animal bitten by a radioactive human would, in comic book science, gain intelligence comparable to a human.
Comic book science is fun. -
There's no texture on it. It's just a colour with lighting effects... basically, it looks like 80's CGI, before they learned how to make things look like they actually exist...

I was neutral on this film. I neither like or dislike Green Lantern but I DO like super hero films regardless of character.
So I'll just say that the quality of that CGI is not promising at all... -

Another thing to take into account is that Zeus by all accounts was a huge jerk (to put it mildly) who'd probably try to rule the world if he existed. So yes, I'd say our Statesman is indeed the anomaly as the others are much more Zeus-like... unless he's just trying a different tact from the others

Quote:No, but I think you might. That being said, does anyone else get the impression that Joephisto actually works for DC?
Seriously though, while Joe is clearly a moron Marvel has always been about having a darker more realistic bent that DC and hasn't pushed the concept of it's heroes being role models nearly to the degree that DC does. One example of this is that as far as I'm aware none of their main hitters have a "no-killing" policy the same way Supes, Batman and Wonder Woman have. I mean, they don't deliberately go out of their way to kill people, just that it isn't so "in your face" as with DC.
Edit: But at the end of the day, morality is irrelevant so long as the stories are entertaining and the characters stay true to their, well, character. Joe is severely failing at this, and that's what make OMD suck, not that it was morally screwy, but that it was stupid and didn't fit Pete's character. -

Quote:There really isn't a reason to change the numbers anyway, if CoH wasn't getting the money they wanted, they'd just cut and run, sell it off or something. They have no reason to pretend it's doing better than it is.NUMBERS LIE!
Blah! That's just anti-intellectual conspiracy-theorist stupidity.
Sure, you can alter numbers to hide the truth.
But if you're a big corporation making reports to your shareholders on a quarterly basis, then such number-altering can put you in jail and is not wise to do.
And nearly impossible to do for a decade. Eventually, if you are number shifting, it will crash around you (cf. Enron).
There's a high confidence in the numbers NCSoft puts out. Anyone claiming otherwise is doing so based on nothing more than tin-foil-hat stupidity. -
Quote:Actually, getting stabbed in the butt is quite a bad place to get stabbed, due to there being some arteries that go through it.Seems if he was stabbed in the butt he was either running away (can't blame him) or it was staged for PR. If you gave me a chance to pick where I would prefer to be stabbed I would pick the butt, I've got a lot of junk in the truck so it probably wouldn't even hurt.
I'm not saying it's not staged, just if it is, it was a pretty poor (and rather embarrassing) place to get stabbed. -
Every minion is different and every set is different. If you're going for theoretical you may as well just make numbers up.

Quote:I looked it up on Youtube too, I saw the first one, didn't see the second.I've seen some of it. It's hilariously bad. Musashi Gundoh is the Plan 9 of anime.
This show must be Abridged! -
Quote:
Now, I want you to think about something else here too... usually, a lot of a show's budget goes into it's title sequence to make it as fluid and nice as possible to sort of make the show look better than it really is...
Just how terrible is the actual show if that's the best they could do for the intro?
Anyway, Avengers into. It was "meh" for me. Not bad, wouldn't buy the song or anything but it's not gonna make me mute the TV when it's on. -
