  1. 1. Stop talking about April Fools so that some people actually get fooled.

    2. While an April Fool prank is being perpetrated, don't post cloyingly obvious things like, "I wonder what date it is today? Hmmmmmmmmmmmm?"

I swear, the last few April Fools stunts by our Devs were exhaustingly anti-climactic with all the pre-April Fools 'wondering' and all the April Fools Day painfully self-referential 'but I'm not fooled' posts.

People don't know how let a good joke be pulled off anymore without spoiling it.
  2. So Superman became, or at leased seemed, much *underpowered* because he joined the Justice League?

The fight is simpler if you actually do immob/slow her. Alternate between attacking her in melee, then, when the blue death drops on her, have the melee back off and collect other aggro while the rangers stay on BM. When the next wave of swords drop, she will be clear again, the melee move back in on BM. One of the keys to the movement is actually purposely choosing where you want the blue patches. Sometimes it is very convenient to move a good distance away during the armored gather aggro phase (if possible), just to keep the area near BM a bit more clear.
What's great about that strategy is that when the BRoD clears about BM and the melee moves back in dragging the adds, it then clusters them all together so that the AoE on BM kills everything.

Captcha probably doesn't know. You're helping humanity by transcribing all of written English into digital form.

The first 'word' is made by Captcha and the only one you're being tested on. The second word is an image from a written manuscript you're being 'asked' to transcribe. If you get the first word right, the system trusts you to transcribe the scanned word. They probably pass the second word on to many people, and if they agree, then it's a trusted transcription.

So, the second 'word', since it obviously contains the number '6', is most likely a three digit number: 162. Or, it's '162-'. Sometimes only context can give an accurate reading. And if people disagree or skip on it, it gets kicked to a human being to look it up and try to decipher it from context.

Yes, but only for two events... for now.

The two new Incarnate Trials have a system for signing up, and when enough people (or teams of people) have signed up for it, they all get transported into the Trial to do it. (Which is similar to signing up for an Arena event.)

More than likely, this system will be leveraged for future similar Trials and perhaps retroactively added to already existing Trials or Task Forces.

But for now, it's only the two new Incarnate Trials coming out in Issue 20.

  8. Oh, this thread is rich.

The Alpha Slot was delayed because there was no 'story' tied to the mechanic.

Now people want the Lore Slot delayed because there *is* a 'story' tied to the mechanic.

Let me lock you in the room with the folks that delayed the Alpha Slot so you all can fight each other over it.

And boo hoo. Some of you don't like the story. Too bad. Like there was going to be any story you all would like.

And GBE's point is absolutely true. No matter which set of pets were chosen, they're be players whining it didn't include what they want. So, hold up Lore until their pet pets are included!

How about... make them customizable! Um... yeah. If they had that tech available, don't you think they would first apply it to... I don't know... MASTERMINDS?!

So, no. Delaying Lore for unreasonable expectations and a no-win scenario would be a colossal mistake.

And yet, that's the point I want to make about that point, namely, as you get more and more power, what power do you wind up not having? It's the arc of homogeneity in that omnipotence is omnipotence.

This has been a remarkably civil thread. Did you have to start this here?
No, it has not been civil. "I hate the Lore pets" is not the point of what you want to discuss and yet you let that go. There's a real blind spot of incivility when people feel they can piss on any thread about their personal peeve. I call them on it. Just like you believe you're calling me out on bad behavior. The only difference is, they started it. Why didn't you call them out on it?
  10. 1. How do you become a god without becoming a Cosmic Tank-Mage?

    2. Is "I hate Lore pets!" going to be the new tantrum that derails all Incarnate discussions like "I must have a solo-only path!"

Well, it's a good thing then that the Incarnate Trials are nothing like the WoW Raids that were toned down. That means we're on the right track!

It's Mortimer Kal, actually (stupid name dyslexia). He's the contact for the new redside TF mentioned in the official I20 web site. As for where I know his name... that's what Sneak Peeks are all about. The new Incarnate slots weren't officially announced either.
  13. MasterMinds still have the least amount of Primaries. All development should be halted and all new Issues delayed until there's a new MM Set ready for release.

Maybe when we finally beat Cole and disconnect him from the Well, the Lore pets will have other options. Right now the Well* doesn't have time to whip up new Essence Pets.

    *i.e., Powers and animation teams.

Hmmm... then they should have Come Full Circle Badge at 10x and 50x levels!
  16. I need to villain again anyway to pick up Master of Barracuda and some villain day jobs.

And the Promethean power and any likely badge to be associated with the Kal Mortimer TF.

Let's face it. For badgers, every issue is likely to be an occasion to go full alignment circle to pick up all the new badges.

The pet is an Essence of the Well, with a ghostly aura, just like the Shadows of the Well we saw in Ramiel's arc.

    They're based on Praetorians because:

    1. You're fighting Praetorians as you gain this power.

    2. The Well is 'siding' with Cole and Praetoria. If you call upon the Well's power for a 'pet', it's current obsession with Cole will 'color' the form of the essence.

While one may envision other types of pets and prefer to have them (e.g., vorpal bunnies), the in-game rationale for Praetorian essences isn't as capricious as it initially sounds.
  18. Flight is your best friend in that fight if you're a squishie. The Swords can't get to you. The Champions' arrows have no stun. If you don't get out of a Blue Rain of Death in time, its -Fly drops you.. right out of it!

If you train yourself to attack - move - attack - move - etc..., then you won't make the number one mistake: queuing up two rooting attacks in a row. If you queue up a second attack and a BRoD is coming, you'll try to move and then find you can't, because the queued attack starts going off.

You're second best friend is the craftable recipe Envenomed Dagger. Since the BRoD causes attack chains to be broken, keeping the AV's Regen down is very important for a timely end (and for everyone to be focusing on the AV when she's there instead of messing with the adds). This enables any make up of ATs to be able to easily complete the TF in under 40 minutes every time.

  21. Actually, the two most recent villain 'arcs' -- Vincent Ross and Kal Mortimer -- both have nothing to do with 'saving the world'. They are both 'power grab' stories that whet the villain's appetite for Incarnate Power.

The two new Incarnate Trials are 'save the world you want to control from an even greater evil' co-op things which villains hate... unless they use such events to power themselves up... which they can.

So... what's a villain to complain about? They didn't get the pretty new hero arc art? Evil up, art losers!
  22. I like Slide because no rapid bouncing movements while SuperSpeeding.

And it overrides NinjaRun's running stance.

They locked the thread because you weren't saying anything new. You think repeating the same thing many times is discussion. It's not.

They valued your input enough to respond to it. They didn't fully agree with it. That's not the same as 'not listening.' They listened and they disagreed.

Obviously, if you don't let them disagree, then you're not making a case, you're making a demand. Nothing less then agreement and capitulation to what you want will make you stop asking for the same thing over and over and over again.

And thank-you. Your argumentation has finally tipped over the edge into the abyss of complete unreasonableness. Not that asking for solo-friendly content isn't perfectly reasonable. But they way you want it and the timeteable at which you expect it isn't happening as you would like (nay, *demand*), and thus, you're indefatigably petulant about your demands. At this point, I see no point arguing with you over this anymore.

And no, you haven't been told your input isn't valued. You haven't. You just didn't get your way.

I have my own list of things I'd like to be fixed or to be created. I don't add to every patch notes thread, "What? No <fill in the blank>?" about it.

I agree with you that there are systems which are languishing or need to be fixed. I bring them up when appropriate. I don't mind the solo-only crowd voicing their concerns. I've made suggestions to the devs that would help them. The mods went out of their way to get their feedback.

I don't know what they want now. Derailing every thread with this isn't going to change the near-future development cycle that was put into motion a year ago.

Now... I don't feel like helping them anymore. They've worn me out with the inability to make the one-post and leave it be.

And you know... there is always starting a new thread. But interjecting the oft repeated complaint in every nearly tangential thread isn't productive... in fact, it can start to be counter-productive.

Oh no! They're not being heard!

How about in the thread the mods started for them and not every single other thread about content or the future of the game?
