On the plus side, I haven't been randomly logged out for a while. It's just whenever I leave the page that I get logged out, not while I am composing a post.

Good, good.
So, I guess this thread did it's job and improved player attitudes. -

When I do quit bad PUGs I prefer to say something. It's usually something neutral like, "I'm going to go do something else."

I know that there're a number of theories and ways to play when it comes to roles and strategies. I am familiar with some of them. But not everyone on a PUG is familiar with the same one that I am.
And, you never know how someone sees there role until they start to play. Even then they might change their mind midway. -
Quote:That's all IF I got the math correct.Daaaang!
I have long had a policy of six-slotting all used attacks, with maybe one or two five slotted on a super-tight build. This shows that four slotting is completely viable if you're willing to forego set bonuses as a primary goal.
Suddenly, I can have a LOT of spare slots. (Starts re-looking toons.)
post ED I find the 72s become 71.8
and the 98s become 93.6
and the 92s become 89.4
And there's rounding error as I rounded as I went.
but those numbers are approximately right I think.
There're prob'ly some set bonuses that you could work into that scenario too depending on the power. -
Quote:I don't think you can max all four stats, but you could prob'ly get something decentThis can already be done on melee attacks if they are six slotted. Mako quad, mako triple(the acc/end/rech), then 3 CI triples, and the fistcuffs quad. Now we can probably get there with only 5 slots, and I doubt you would do it with 4.
these maths may be wrong, but...
I show a (lvl 50 + lvl 25 quad), both +5, yielding ~40.7 per attribute
Then 2 +5 triples @ ~26.5 per attribute
4 slots
Pre-ED
acc 40 + 00 + 26 = 66
dam 40 + 26 + 26 = 92
end 40 + 26 + 00 = 66
rech 40 + 26 + 26 = 92
I show a 2x lvl 50 yielding ~46 per attribute
Then 2 +5 triples @ ~26.5 per attribute
4 slots
Pre-ED
acc 46 + 00 + 26 = 72
dam 46 + 26 + 26 = 98
end 46 + 26 + 00 = 72
rech 46 + 26 + 26 = 98 -
I get 95.9 after ED
Quote:Think it might end up be worth forgoing some set bonuses to try and max out primary stats on powers?
It really depends on your goals and play style. Toons that aren't built to mal down have more options. Toons that mal down end up getting far more out of bonuses than it is possible to get from enhancements after about level 17-19 and on down. From 32 to 21ish It's possible to really overstack the enhancement values.
Quote:Such as putting as many quad IOs you can in a single power and boosting them in an attempt to max out damage, accuracy, end redux, recharge etc?
The lower level quads can be brought up to a more useful level -

Considering dropping hasten down to 2 slots on toons that aren't meant to mal down.
also considering putting them in my lvl 25 LotGs
Any frankenslotting that involves quads
the lvl 27 IOs I have in my sets for the toons who're built to mal down
I am not sure exactly yet. Still examining the spreadsheets until it's easier in Mids' to use the boosters.
in the meantime,
Thanks Mids' Team! You guys rock. -
I don't know what to think about the posts where someone complains about not getting enough with their free account, and there reaction is to say something about how business is being lost because they won't play their free account.

Quote:I am realizing that. One of the possible strategies for using boosters to to be able to keep more of your set bonuses at lower levels, and still have high enhancement values. IIRC, you could use level 30 sets, and have enhancement values from them similar to level 50 sets, and still keep the set bonuses down to level 25, instead of 45.
The wall that I run into involves which enhancement values get affected by the exemplaring. Some of the IOs I am currently using are up against the limit of what gets affected and what does not. Increasing those would actually be a detriment when malling down. But others... -
Quote:When your travel power already has another one hit wonder enhancement in it and you don't want to use another slot.Just out of curiousity, under what circumstances would you not want stealth in your travel power?
Quote:If you put it in Swift, then you ALWAYS have some stealth running. (I tend to put a flight speed enhancement here.)
Quote:But if you put it in Sprint, then you have to run two or three powers to get the most stealth. Super Speed, Sprint, and possibly another travel power. The endurance costs add up, and for some builds it might be too much.
The IO and SS should be enough for most everything. -
Quote:Tyvm.Boosters do nothing to the level of the IO. They only increase the enhancement value.

I read teh wiki, but I didn't see any mention of it's effects on the set bonus.
Holy Smackerel!!
Ayayay!

Mein Gott! -
How do the enhancement boosters affect the way that set bonuses stay with a toon when it mals down?
Can I take a set @ level 27, jack it up +5 w/ boosters and still get my set bonuses @ lvl 24?
Or....what? -
Maybe they're both hamming it up for the publicity
