Considering the failure rate on MoCuda it's probably a good idea to have some redundancy.

I think the real question is: What's Arachnos' excuse for landing their black helicopter AT the Longbow base in Agincourt?

Also, I'm very curious about how Statesman's removal is going to affect things. STF could really have any random NPC giving out the missions, but the LRSF would be a huge difference since you actually fight States.
  3. Once again the Hamidon had an objection to our attempted Master run of Lady Grey, that dastard! Despite failing to get the master badge we still had a good run and fun was had by all. Special thanks to Omega for alting to a controller and to Syanth for lending us his bottomless bag of EoEs .

Next up on the List is the Barracuda Strike Force, and we'll be attempting a master run on this one as well. So if you like the idea of 8 evil-doers taking out an army of nazis then meet up in Grandville next Sunday, January 8th at 5pm PST/8pm EST!

I did this on my spines/fire scrapper just to see how it would play if I neglected defenses and went full-on offense. Even so, I think I only came up with a damage bonus somewhere around 30%.

Just out of curiosity, what limitations do VEATs have?

While blasters do have more primaries than secondaries, you would also want to roll up a few corruptors and defenders if you're going to try out all the powersets. You'd need to save a few ranged powersets for those, so you couldn't use all the ranged powersets on blasters alone.

There are more than enough support powersets to pair up the remaining ranged powersets with, even after you've rolled up one blaster for every manipulation secondary powerset. Melee powersets, however, can only be combined with defensive powersets, so you're more limited there.

This is actually the reason I never bought street justice, because I didn't want to re-use any of the secondaries. I saved regen for titan weapons because I already had a really good character concept. Personally, every time I've tried to make a new character that used a powerset I've already done before I end up getting bored very quickly. For me it's just not enough for the primary to be different.

No particular reason since originally I was planning on skipping a lot of the secondary and sticking with ranged attacks anyway. The only problem with switching to Nrg is that while I would get +range, which would be nice, I would also lose 10% rech, 5% ranged def, 4% damage, and 4% recovery. Also I like drain psyche better than conserve power and I'd probably use subdue occasionally where I would likely never use power thrust. Those are all minor things, but they're enough to tip the scales for how I like to play.
  9. Ok, so for reference here's what I currently have planned:

Your Original recharge for Drain Psyche was 40.57 just as a comparison without having to flip to MIDs..
Hmmm, 44.2 defense is still pretty good, I may go ahead and do this along with the extra slot on rain of arrows. I'll probably end up dropping Aim and picking up some skill I'll never use in mace mastery so I can still have the pets. It's not much of a loss since I'd probably almost never use Aim anyway.
  11. So I'm pretty much new to blasters, though I've made about 6 of them and never kept one past level 25. This time I thought that if I had a build I could get excited about I might keep it long enough to have fun with. I made this build in Mids with the idea of softcapping ranged defense and using hover. I took scorpion shield to have some added defense to s/l.

I was hoping someone with more blaster experience could check out this build and let me know if I've overlooked anything.

I just realized that Mids let me take summon spiderlings but I shouldn't be able to without taking another skill in mace mastery first. I'll have to tweak that, but the rest of the build should still work.

    Notes:
Ranged and Energy defenses are softcapped
Negative Energy defenses are at 35%
Smashing and Lethal defenses are at 31%
Should have no problems with End usage
42% global recharge (without hasten active)
    +48% global accuracy
World of Confusion is mostly a set mule (I did this because the purple confuse set is relatively inexpensive)

  12. On a related note, this weekend I'm going to start taking my WS rogue so I can join in on at least one of these while I'm off work.
  13. So we ended up failing the master run, though we got close. Unfortunately in the final mission the AV pull didn't go very well and we ended up with the entire freedom phalanx punching/zapping/irradiating at us. Still, despite that this had to be the smoothest LRSF I've ever been on. Oh, also Litho missed out on the group screenshot at the end, but since there was a big gap I decided to photoshop her in. See if you can tell!

So next up on the List is the Lady Grey Strike Force. We did this a few weeks ago as part of the Naughty or Nice even, but since that was a speed run I figured we could do it again and this time go for the Master badge. Also, next sunday is Christmas so I'm pretty sure I won't be home to run this, so we'll plan on meeting the following sunday. So meet up in the Rikti War Zone on Sunday, January 1st at 5pm PST/8pm EST!
  14. In Sept's defense he has said to me on several occasions that Protector has some awesome players. That being said, I think there were 2 major problems on that failed MoM run last saturday.

First was lack of experience. Many on the league had never even done it before, and among those that had, more than half had never finished it. I know my own inexperience with it fouled me up at one point.

The second problem was our balance of ATs. If memory serves about a third of the league were scrappers, if not more. I think in situations like that you should see if anyone is willing to alt. I know you don't like telling people what they should play on these, and I totally agree with that, but asking and telling are different things.

As someone who's been on protector long enough to see the best AND the worst it has to offer, I can see where Sept is coming from. I've seen some of the smoothest iTrial runs on this server, and I have alts on several other servers to compare to. Conversely, I've also had some of the worst iTrial experiences on this server. It still amazes me when I'm on a PuG Lambda and several people don't know how to check their temp powers. I honestly don't know how you could get to 50 without at least stumbling across that along the way. Well, actually I DO know how someone could get to 50 without learning anything about the game, several ways in fact, but that's a whole other discussion. Ok, I think I got sidetracked there.

Yeah, the who will die arc will do that, but there's no rule saying they can't kill off statesman in part 5 then bring him back in part 7 and have someone else die, just to throw everyone's speculation off. But that's just me being skeptical that they'd come out and tell us who was going to die when they've gone through the trouble of building suspense for it.

Edit: But then again, maybe I'm giving them too much credit?
  16. Grats! I'm really looking forward to being off work soon so I'm online at a good time to actually try out the new trials. I've only been on one attempt at MoM and haven't even seen TPN yet.
  17. I'm still wondering if he's really going to be dead or if he's just going to be comic book dead only to come back by the end of the arc and the permanent death they've advertised will be someone else. I'm just trying to figure out why they would go and announce it before that part is even released.

I don't think this is fixed. At least not completely fixed. I used to play with "Dim All Windows" turned on and my opacity set to 100%, so they would be clear until I moused over them. It used to be that the opacity would slowly lower over time and I'd have to reset it occasionally.

When that one patch went live and seemed to break everything it changed so that having any window's dim setting on would cause all windows to be locked at 30% opacity no matter what you did. This still appears to be the case. So maybe it's more that the window dimming feature is broken and not the opacity.

This happened to me last time I was on a Caleb hunting team. We filed a support ticket and a GM spawned him on top of us pretty quickly, though we may have gotten lucky with timing it.

  20. Oops, late post... I blame work. So ITF went smooth and we had a lot of fun destroying their faces and such. I also noticed afterwards that almost all of my screenshots were take while I was using flamethrower, I guess because it has sort of a long animation? Anywho, here's the numbers:

    Team Size: 8
    Deaths: 9
    Time: 1:10:59
    Photo Album

According to the List next week is the 3rd Respec Trial. Since I've seen that one done in under 10 minutes before I plan on doing the Lord Recluse Strike Force also. Probably a master run since I haven't done a SFS master attempt in a while. So if you want to beat up a tree, then a robot, then future heroes, then present sidekicks, then present heroes, meet up in Nerva next Sunday, December 18th at 5pm PST/8pm EST!
  21. Ok, so I have a new Huntsman made and up to tarikoss levels for today.

I did beat the crap out of the AV's though, that's just something I can't resist.
Funny, it sounds like Sept was actually the most heroic one on the Hero team.
