Well i really get the feeling that the incarnate system has largely been trial and error and if they had a chance to redo from scratch, that is reorganize everything, I don't think we'd have gotten lore/destiny when we did and Hybrid would've come earlier.
But hey not all the ones we have are that showy. Hybrid is more like Interface than it is Lore/Destiny/Judgment. The strength is there, but it's just not immediately noticeable. -

I do not understand the question.

I'd still want a pet at T9, but agree it would be one of the sets most likely to -lack- a pet.
There's a -lot- of ways it could go though, the set as a whole I mean. -
Quote:Mmm, even the arcs still paint him as kind of grey, like he was supporting some of the Destroyers drug habit, but only because they were old war buddies and there was (at the time) no cure for the stuff. Are you still level 6 in Praetoria? I mean, I don't want to spoil stuff, but a lot of what you may have read about the Praetors (especially on that GR website) were lies. You could call them significant stretches of the truth as well. Massive embellishment. Excellent spin.

Placate is useful solo, where it can be used for a quick breather during a prolonged fight (Elite boss, for example). but in team situations, nope. Never really see a use. But it's become a much more situational power with the changes, certainly.

Quote:Actually it's been stated that it was staggered this way explicitly to lead up to the 50th year anniversary special next year, which is supposed to be A Big Deal. It's running from 2012-2013. 5 Episodes, Xmas special, rest of series in the new year.
There are a couple of reasons why episodes are spread out. One is cost. The BBC isn't generous with FX budgets. The other is so the cast can do different things, thereby avoiding typecasting. Both Gillian and Smith have appeared in a couple of high profile dramas. And the Moff has Sherlock to do as well of course. -

The ways of making it work that would appease most people would pretty much involve massive revamps every time some new major event changes thing. That's just not in the cards. Or it would involve major events all being '50+', but we can't move the level cap.
Really. If it were up to the way people want it, galaxy city would still exist as a starting area and at 50 it would be destroyed. Statesman and Psyche would be alive in any 'under 40' mission. Any new low level content would have to conform to 'the past' and 'new' and 'modern' stuff would all be end game content.
Or they could start dating everything and have people complain that 'why can I do something in Atlas and its August 2012 and then go to Faultline where it's June 2009?" -
Or the arcs that reference the Rikti being humans, before you ever find out 'the big secret'.
Story has always been a hodgepodge. I really don't see it being that confusing. They don't have the time or manpower to do a full world revamp the way the 900 lbs gorilla did with it's last expansion. They update bits and pieces and they don't discard much of anything. The reason "it worked" before is that so much was self contained, all of the major plots could be taken in a vacuum because they all had their own characters and stuff never crossed over.
Now we've got characters and plots that are crossing over and moving forward. The story is actually -developing-. And the 1-50 model just doesn't support it in the way people want.
As I see it, the Praetorians are probably joining up to help fight against the Battalion, as they'll be the new big bad. The current roster of iTrials will be 'the past' while newer stuff will be the present.
The wonderful thing is, I don't care if other people can't deal with it. The devs are going to do it how they're going to do it, and it's pretty much tough luck if you disagree. So you either have to learn to hand wave it or sit and sulk. -
Quote:I wouldn't say it was that legit. She's working with us, yeah, but the personal story mission shows pretty clearly she's still pretty self serving. If Primal shows it's the 'losing side' in anything major, chances are she'd backstab us without a second thought if it meant saving herself. On the flip side, it seems like Dominatrix going face was legit and they might be running with that. As long as we're trying to use the Praetorians we didn't kill to feed the character death quota, and more than anything as long as we're turning Megan face, Marauder doesn't seem that far off the bat. I mean, talk about someone who enjoys hurting others
But Marauader I could see, he fits the vigilante profile pretty well. -
Actually the coffee talks lately have been pretty good about sticking to topic, so if they say 'we're going to talk about power sets' you get a pretty good chunk of an hour talking about power sets instead of before where 20 minutes could be eaten up by idle banter (especially in the beginning). This one is worth a watch I'd say, they get into it pretty quick.
Plus Hawk is too cute, he blushes so hard
As for the sets in question. Eh. Call me non-plussed. Not that they're bad, but the concepts don't really thrill me. Probably because I'm more a 'magic' kinda guy so all the elemental stuff in the control and assault sets are already appealing.
On the other hand, since we don't have it, it did lead to suggesting 'ninjitsu control' as a primary. Probably never going to happen, but it seems like a fun idea anyway. -
You can get by equally well with Flash, I just use EMP for the -extremely- short cast time.
You can also use choking cloud as a basilisk's gaze mule. -
I took it and enjoy it, but then one of my favorite things to do is activate it, dive into a spawn and fire off EMP, then Consume. Pretty much guarantees everything in the spawn is held (especially with a lockdown proc).
As for Invisibility... I fully slotted it but it was one of my first characters and now that I've got a lot more experience under my belt I'm honestly considering respecing and cutting slots. Though you can drop 5 Red Fortunes into it for the recharge bonus and a Gambler's proc.
but for the most part it's not really worth it for the defense since half of it suppresses in combat (and it's already very low to begin with). It's totally worth it to run though, stealthing whole missions if need be. -
Oh wow, didn't know that, never had him appear for me. But then my first loyalist ended up skipping a number of missions/contacts due to overleveling
Good to know! -
Mmmm no. Since Reese' ultimate fate is in a mission and not a moral choice, and Transmuter doesn't really try to imply things ended up any other way, I'd say it's safe to assume we will not see Reese again.

Yeah I'm looking forward to see who lived out of the praetorian war, there's a number of characters I'd like to see come heroside, like Riptide and Aria.

Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

Actually after thinking about it for 5 seconds, the most 'likely' pet that jumped to mind was a Fu Dog. XD

I'm an avid story fan and I can tolerate an update to modernize parts of the setting as reflects the latest story. Something like this? Thrilled. I think it'll be awesome, they look great and I'm really curious what's going to happen and how they'll all function.
