Not "everyone", Oz: only 1 of my 3 50s (out of a total of 47 alts) has its Alpha-slot unlocked and I'm quite happy to leave it at that.

If you want to set up a CoP, I'd sign up for it - if I'm free at that time.

You don't have to move if you don't want to. And if your friends don't move either, then...

    Nothing changes.

As for the "******-ery", as Wolvie put it :

The new 'freedom accounts' are nothing more than a type of trial account that goes up to 50. They can't /tell, they can't use globals. They can't form SuperGroups to spam you with invites.

All this "I GOT TO MOVE TO THE PRIME SERVER TO AVOID THE FREEKS" is overreacting.

If you haven't been bothered by the free trial players (in any significant way) previously, you won't with the free account players.

Besides, there are zones and missions you can all go to where they can't to get away from them (you won't see one of them in Praetoria or Incarnate content). And they can't talk on your global channels. They are very easily avoided.

So, why is your hair on fire?
    What he said.

And if the Protector community stays (more or less) the same, we're known not to take any bull-**** from any noobs

It's them who should be afraid of us... very afraid...

The "Silver Age of Comic Books" was roughly from the mid-50s to the early 70s, or if you prefer from Showcase #4 to the death of Gwen Stacy (I'm a nerd, so sue me...)

Anyway, I'll probably roll my first-ever character on Freedom just to enjoy the lag-fest.

    Wish me luck...
  20. I have this custom-build Dell Inspiron 1720 that I can play COH on:

    Processor Intel® Core 2 Duo T7500 (4MB cache/2.2GHz/800Mhz FSB)
    Memory 3GB DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz (1GB x 2GB)
    LCD Panel Anti-glare, widescreen 17.0 inch display (1440 x 900)
    Video Card 256MB NVIDIA® GeForce 8600M GT
Hard Drive 250G 5400RPM SATA HDD
OS Genuine Windows Vista® Home Premium Edition, English
Network Card Integrated 10/100 Network Card and Modem
    Wireless Intel® 3945 802.11a/g Mini-card
Sound Card Integrated Stereo High Definition Audio

I tried Ultra Mode on it, it "works" (oh.. the shinies...), but too laggy for actual play. Otherwise, I can use "Graphics Quality: Quality" no problem.

Group Area Buffs: To make buffing easier for Teams and Leagues, these buff powers now affect all the eligible characters within a 30-foot-radius around the targeted character. (Previously, you had to target and buff each individual character to use these powers.)

    * Cold Domination (Defenders, Controllers, Corruptors): Ice Shield and Glacial Shield
    * Force Field (Defenders, Controllers, Masterminds): Deflection Shield and Insulation Shield
    * Kinetics (Defenders, Controllers, Corruptors): Increase Density and Speed Boost
    * Sonic Resonance (Defenders, Controllers, Corruptors): Sonic Barrier and Sonic Haven
    * Thermal Radiation (Controllers, Corruptors, Masterminds): Fire Shield and Plasma Shield
    That makes me squee happy!!!
That makes me squee sad... I hate Speed Boosts, I usually end up bouncing from walls to walls and getting more aggro than I need...

Guess I'll have to stay far far away from any Kins.

On the other end, it will save me a bit of time on my FF Mastermind.

"Protector: Day of Vigilance"... not bad... could be worse, like "Protector: Day of Zukunft" (just does not slip off the tongue as well...)
