If you read the patch notes for Issue 14, you'll see that building such maps is against the rules of conduct. So it's really not such a great plan to ask for information regarding it here on the (moderated) forums.

Actually the wording is a "statistical advantage" which means everything you can build is against the rules of conduct. Its time for the devs to get over this the vast majority of people that play the game enjoy having the option of farming. The ma has provided more variety in the farms and the ability to finish them -

The ends always justify the means. Whenever someone trots out that cliche it means they don't understand what they are talking about, or are using examples when the ends were undesirable in themselves and the means were moreso.
To use your example

Net result overall negative. The means as always are part of the ends.
Now going into the more typical usage.

Ends/Means.
Farmers want to do things with the game, farming is their means. Its about time that farming got recognized outright as a legitimate part of the game. -

Gun Drone is fine as a pet, the only problem with it is the ridiculous 6 second interruptible summons animation. Drop it to a short uninterruptible wrist phone summons like Force Field Generator, and Gun Drone would be an excellent power.
Those two changes would make Devices clearly excellent.

Time bomb is fine as it is. Its very very nice for the soloist. Gun drone really needs help though especially in this I14 kind of world. Bringing it down to 1 second non interruptible would be great. This would give the devices blaster a team friendly not quite build up. -

Lastly: a five-star mission should be unusual. I have not give a "5" to any MA mission I've played. I get the feeling that as long as the mission is functional, there are players out there giving 5 stars for EVERYTHING, which destroys the whole meaning of the system.

Your 5 stars aren't the same as everyone elses. This is a very limited medium which by its nature plays down the story. Faulkner or Conrad would have hard times telling compelling stories where every 5 minutes you had to click the glowie or defeat all.
If a mission is well put together, and performs as advertised it gets five stars from me.

Close its off the the level range in common.
So if you have a custom enemy 1-54
Council from 30-50
and enemy x from 45-50
The common level range is 45-50
Everyone below 45 will get a boost to 45
the leader will be at 45 or his level whichever is greater
The spawns will be set to the leaders combat level. -

Using aim and build up in the same alpha strike has always been a waste in my experience. With arch/dev, Aim+RoA was enough to remove all the minions and any non-resistant lieutenants. So was gun drone + RoA.

Please read the whole thread. This was already debunked. If you don't like the simplicity of mid's pull out a calcultor. It's pretty simple math. Buildup is fun, and I take on any AT if its in the sets I chose, but it is miles from making or breaking a set.

Just what is the peak damage of freeze ray ?
But lets go a little furrther
Blaze Base damage 180 ? or so
3 damage IOS : 360
Aim +Buid up : 660 or so
Then toss in defiance at about 25% to bring it up to the 700s
VS BS head splitter:
base 180 ? IIRC
3 Damage 360
toss in build up you are at 540 or so
Then you can factor in the chance to crit however you want to. -

Somewhere in the range of 10 - 100x better. A much much bigger difference in the ability to stealth , not to mention the combination of Defense and -Acc.

A blaster generally does about 50% more damage (when free to go postal at any time for no reason) than a scrapper using their primary and secondary combined. This is based on almost 150 levels of Force Field defender.
A blaster using their primary ONLY can do, maybe, 10% more damage than a Scrapper. The rest comes from melee attacks, Build Up, etc. - none of which Devices has.

This is insane. Almost every single blaster secondary attack has a lower DPS than almost every single blaster primary attack. Yes, they provide good burst ST damage (or in Fire's case some early extra AoE), but having them will not increase your DPS by 73%.
As far as ST goes, a Scrapper can out damage a blaster anyway. This is assuming the scrappers lives and doesn't manage to kill his team by proxy (thereby severely hurting damage output!).
If you have Mid's, hit Ctrl+C and you can compare the DPS of various sets.
I agree with some previous remarks, /Devices is very good for soloing. It's a little underwhelming on teams. I love the set anyway. I have only hit 50 on 3 blasters (fire/ice, arch/dev, energy/energy) and the /dev was the most fun, easily.

You are both wrong. Having buildup in the secondary vastly increases the kill rate for a blaster against spawns. AIM+BU+AOES = No Minions badly hurt lts and upset bosses.
As to using MIDS you can't. It won't let you compare attack chains and it won't let you compare peak damage (AiM+BU+Defiance)
Buildup alone significantly boosts the blasters damage output. Having a good secondary does mor as you can fill in your attack chain.
True Devices doesn't do this but it works differenly when applied to a spawn. time bomb + whatever = massive spike damage. Time bomb + well placed trip mines = really massive damage.
As to teams devices blasters have their role. They are blaster ghosts. They can stealth to an objective and have the battlefield prepped as a killing ground or they can simply solo ahead. -
MA ticket earning rates
This gives some experimental data on how tickets scale with teas. Bottom line is adding additional players adds less than the initial players, and the more players on the map the worse it gets -

You can specify the enemy group that guards an objective. Its not the same as having two groups going at each other but it does let you get your others in.

Disagree on DR being needed disagree on the overall theme of elusivity needing a little tweaking.
Not getting hit >> resistance.
Not getting hit = pass on all status effects and debufss that require a hit as well as the extra HP.
Tweaking the defense sets to have a resistance component the same way the squishies got it would have been much better. Even better still would have been to add resistance components to the individual powers in pvp only.It seems like there was a "solution" lieing around and there wasn't time to properly work through the consequences.
As to DR all it did was wipe out the effectiveness of some peoples builds and make different ones more relatively effective. -

The balance is made up for by all the people with +rech powers and pets that are getting nerfed down. Look at all the rads/kins/emps whose pets are going to be limping along. -
Wonder if the breakdown on boss/lt/minion had an effect.
