I'll stick with watching Makani and others with Harry Potter and draco/hermione /harry whoever/whoever shipping, that's always fun. It's nice and tame.

I have seen a lot of angry teens about this issue. It's first off "legal" and responsible of them to do so. However, what's not at ALL responsible is that they've neglected to ANNOUNCE this change, and now doubling back on their actions saying "well we really just wanted to talk about it all along.". Bullcrap.

At the very least, they really need to consider 'maturity' and 'age' are not hand in hand. Anyone who's got the maturity to turn ON a mature filter is usually old enough to view it. And certainly, anyone 'too young' to upload 'mature' works ... wow what ignorance on DA's part for underestimating the maturity of artists, eh?

Ah well. I hope it doesn't interfere with too much - I worry most however, about those teens who are *SERIOUS* about art, who will not be allowed to view proper stock photos for reference poses, that are nude and default to mature filter. :/ I've already had one friend complain about that.

It was advertised for Talk Like a Pirate day, last month. In the Scoop and everything, including on their website under Game Events.. It's still open and there, however, and if we're on at the same time give me a holla - I'm usually on protector, but I rolled the pirates there because well, it's the drunk server Rum is hidden in the base, by the way hee...

How come no one came to my Pirates on Pinnacle event. There's obviously interest, but ... I got 3 random people, one of whom didn't come into the superbase I'd decorated up, and the other didn't give me their global so I could give them proper credit in my website if I got pictures of them.. :/

The only use of the screenshots they don't explictly allow is to make a profit from them. Otherwise they're considered 'fan derived' and essentially are okay as long as you say where you got em.

And for whom is this being made? Publication? Personal use? Which existing literary works are they?....

Hee. There are probably about 5 percent of the people I watch on DA that could possibly even pull it off. Most of the *professionals* that I dealt with when I ran my comic store couldn't. Myself, I am a huge fan of really crisp, really sharp pencils AND inks - I do all my inking with a plain old sharpie (fine) or good ballpoint but I used to use extremely expensive rapidographs. And then I had to clean my .13, and gave up on that.

Though truth be told, it doesn't need to be superhero arts.

If y'all could head over to my DA account, I've got an announcement. This particular thing is just the start, and with all the talented folks here, I'd love to see other things like character art and such too.

Each time I scan, I have to adjust My new scanner works slightly better at catching color than my old one, but its interface is specific to that brand of scanner so I can't use the same old scan wizard

I highly recommend inking by hand, BAS. I'm not a fan of cheater inks, most folks shouldn't go straight from pencil to color, and most of those that do tend to have stuff that looks very unfinished to me. (I'm so old school, I know. But inking LOOKS BETTER than uninked work, no matter what I've seen done professionally - or even in spite of things, because I've seen a lot of pro work that looks so sloppy...)
