  1. I've noticed that men can wear the valkyrie belt with trenchcoats, but women can't. What is up with that? Being able to wear the valkyrie belt with the magic bolero would be cool too.
  2. I was on virtue for a little while last night. I would have liked to take part, but OMG the lag..It was almost nothing but slide show, and I'm running a brand new GEForce 9600 card.
  3. And perhaps a shoulder mantle+fur option since they also look dead sexy together.
  4. Some of my high level characters (like my level 50s) will probably be okay with not changing that costume. But my lower level ones won't be- no auras, talsorian weapons, or the like. So their costumes remain incomplete.
  5. I don't know why wings with magic bolero is such a problem all of a sudden. After all, we've been able to use wings with the wedding pack tuxedo for a long time now, and nobody's had problems.
  6. I recently replaced my GE force 6600 video card..before getting the magic booster. It seemed to handle CoH reasonably well, but my other 3D programs like Poser were killing it.
On my new graphics card, the game runs beautifully- I've got a GE Force 9600 now.

If we absolutely can't have the double layered long cape, can we at least have the shoulder mantle with its collar? My female characters look hella nice, and the males are jealous. Seriously, my males want a Jedi robe-like thing of their own.
  7. And not all players are going to be doing this, just to head off the argument of "but what if everyone wants to do it?".
For starters, the costume pieces in question are all extras which have to be purchased- not everyone will do this. And of those who do, not everyone wants to layer the bolero and cape like that. So it will probably always be a minority of players doing this, even if it is left alone.
  8. That sucks. No, that blows. Blows chunks like a jet engine going through a flock of geese.

A couple of my characters have that scarf and coat, which looks hella nice.

Performance issue? How so? I am aware that at some point, the powers that be decided that players should only get one cape. I think lag was a factor- too many players using multiple capes would be bad, mmkay?

But I'm sure that since that was decided, alot of computers have gotten more powerful, enough that some fancy costumes won't bugger the works.

    This change sucks, big time.
  9. Yeah, likewise. Iron Angel Aveda enjoys having valkyrie wings along with her coat- they suit the character PERFECTLY.
  10. About the elusive long robe, who would accept this as a compromise?
    http://img111.imageshack.us/img111/2625/img1042hn1.jpg

Ignore the long beige under-robe I am wearing. Instead, look at the sleeveless blue one over top of it. Notice how it's slit right up the sides, so front and back are both free-hanging, almost like the Mu robes, but anchored at the waist, so as not to interfere with arm movement.
  11. I would love something like the scribe robe somebody posted..that would be hella cool.

As for these costume sets, I hardly ever dress a character in nothing but one set. I love to mix and match instead. I've got a few of my characters who wear a Samurai chestplate with the valkyrie belt and armoured kilt, and it looks hella nice. I customize further by using different shoulder plates like Justice, as well as different options for gloves and boots. So I get to play with the shiny new costume bits, and don't look like a clone.
I've done well in costume contests with characters so attired- they do stand out from the ones who just picked "Samurai" "Cyborg" or "Valkyrie" from a dropdown set list and left it at that.
  12. So that nice cape is available to the ladies as well..Swoon!
Too bad the ladies can't get that lovely coat the men are wearing..

I am SO gonna make a Brooklyn Bridge toon when this thing comes out!
  13. April 14? Ugh, I ran right over to the plaync store, hoping to buy this thing right away. I know a good many of my characters are going to get these pieces to mix and match. Too bad the cape with collar and mantle is only for the men, some of my ladies would like it as well. Likewise those jackets. Nevertheless, I can't wait to play with these!
  14. I suspect they may be released in another patch..From what I've heard, costume parts often get released in one of the last patches before going live. I guess they want people to spend time testing the new goodies instead of playing at the tailor. Also, I imagine things like bug fixing would be priorities over adding costume parts, explaining why they get left until the last patches.
  15. Butt capes!! Woo Freaking Hoo! Now I can play my widows and they won't look naked. That said, I hope male widows can get them too.

And eventually I would love to see some other butt cape styles for non-VEATs. I've got an assortment of other characters who would love to wear their regular cape hanging from the waist instead of the shoulders.

    Can't wait to see these!
  16. Looks pretty damn sweet! I've got some ideas I can use this for.
I wonder if we can get outdoor maps?
  17. I liked the special on military-themed costumes- VERY well done.

A while ago, I did some thinking about that myself, including how to incorporate special things like capes and auras into military gear.
Most capes would be off-limits, but some of the translucent ones, or the feather-pattern cape could be coloured to look like the shaggy camoflauge gear worn by snipers. Or the scarf cape might compliment a dress uniform.

As for the auras, pair the right eye aura with the right goggles or visor, and you've got some high-tech tactical gear.
  18. Jay, I hope you won't give up on long robes entirely- after all, at one point, you devs said that wings were impossible. Now we have several awesome styles to choose from. Likewise with trenchcoats- for a time we were told those were impossible. Now we have them. My only disappointment is that for so long, the 3 month veteran reward style is all that's been done with them. I'm hoping the magic cloaks will change that.
  19. Anyone got pics of the Valkyrie weapons? All I've seen is the costume set. I just bought the upgrade for my account, tomorrow some characters of mine are going in for makeovers!
  20. I loved those valkyrie screenshots myself, I am going to have some serious fun mix-and-matching with those. I think the wings may be some of the coolest ones I've ever seen in the game, even cooler than the ones which came out in I9.

And the costume wish list covered all of my bases!
  21. Those are sweet- I like the electric shield myself. Although I do wish we would get a smaller buckler-sized shield or two.
  22. I'll add another complaint to the Jack in Irons issue- I killed him with a team on guardian last night, it was the first time I had seen him since the event started. Is there some way to fix this?

And some idiot on guardian almost got me killed last night, running around and clicking doors. I was not the only one he did this to, then he had the nerve to whine to the whole zone about his ADD, as if it were an excuse. Then the twit wanted to team with me, after noticing my level. I told him no way, since his "ADD" had almost gotten me killed once before.
  23. I got mapserved last night fighting zombies on Lag hill in Talos Island, Virtue server.

I'll second the folks who say the spawn rate for Jack in Irons needs to be bumped up- it's rediculous.
    Likewise with the door spirits.
  24. Love the dirty jobs accolade Great stuff.
I also second the bridge painter badge for leaving your character parked on a bridge! Valour Bridge would SO use that!

We need an architect badge for something.
  25. I got exited when I read this announcement. It sounds like the mission creator is not going to be just a radio mission generator, but hopefully something much cooler. That I am exited about, I've written story arc and TF outlines before, it would rock to be able to implement them. As far as farmable missions go, if somebody made one called "Old MacDonald's behemoth farm", I would just laugh. No skin off of my teeth. And if some little child wants to make a mission filled with some of the same nasties that I've seen in petitionable bios, Oh well. File a petition and go on. I'm sure the rating system will also help discourage that kind of foolishness.

I'm curious about the day job system as well. It sounds interesting, and I look forward to seeing what it will entail. It sounds similar to the WoW xp bonus, which applies when your character's been logged out for a bit. Only instead of XP, you get other bonuses.

The TF rewards system sounds interesting too- I imagine rare recipes will still have decent selling prices, because one would hope it would take a fair number of tokens to purchase them.
I'm curious about the purchasable costume parts- will they be the same ones as in the invention system, or will there be new ones added to the TF rewards list? If it's the latter, I'm okay with that, as long as they're not level restricted like the roman armour.

Shields sounds like an interesting set, I'm not squeeing for joy like I did when DB came out (I had wanted DB since I started playing), but it sounds pretty cool. Sword-and-buckler fighter, anyone? I suspect that the villainous empathy might involve lots of stealing life from your enemies and using it to buff your friends- I'll be interested to see what it entails. Pain Domination? Sounds fun. Off to whip up a dominatrix character

And of course I'm always exited to see new costume sets added. The cyborg pack sounds cool, can't wait to see the teaser pics.
And of course, there's going to be more stuff in addition to the upgrade pack, hopefully waist capes will be included with that. My night widow needs the arachnos buttcape, and my other characters would kill for the option to suspend their regular capes from their waists instead of their shoulders.

Overall, this sounds like it's gonna be a sweet update!
