It will be good to see you (and Paj too) if you can make it on Monday
-
It was another quiet week for the Trapper team, though Blind Minotaur joins us for a change, which was cool. After a few slow weeks, it's been decided we should look for some new recruits...
---
So if anyone is reading this and wants to join in the Trapper fun on Monday nights, than speak up! We meet every Monday at 7pm until 10-ish.
The main body of the Trapper team is level 36 right now, but we're not against lower levels joining us if you can put in the extra time outside of the meetings to catch up. (It's certainly not impossible to do so, plus 3 hours a week is lousy for power levelling!)
The goal of the team is to just have fun and play with the unique tactics that the Traps powersets afford. We're mostly PvE and our main goal is to reach 50 together. PvP may come later.
We are in our own SG but that's not a compulsory requirement to join if you're already in one of your own.
In fact the only requirments are that you be a Corruptor or MM with Traps, and that if you're level 35 or higher, you have Trip Mine. Everything else, including aesthetic themes, are up to you.
If you're interested then reply in this thread or PM me, either on the forum or in-game (my globals are below). -
Sorry to hear that V
For the rest of us, Trapping tonight at 7pm as usual. -
Where did you read that again? They were still puking up last Monday.
-
Trapper night is on!! Sorry I didnt' post earlier, been way too busy with work and sleep lately...
Hope to see you shortly! -
Dark/Fire is great fun - two self-heal powers, two end-drain powers and two build up powers!
-
I must say I really enjoyed this week. Thansk to those who came, I hope you enjoyed yourselves too and forgive my prattling on.
Can't wait to mine our first EB/AV! -
Oops, nearly forgot about this! Hope to see most of you shortly! *logs on*

Fury style build up? That's not even working on Brutes in PvP right now I don't think, so should be fun.
[/ QUOTE ]
Fury is actually a misnomer - this Defiance charges up exactly like Domination, not Fury. And Domination charges fine in PvP. -

Only they may remove the tier1/2 always fire mezz thingie, no good.
[/ QUOTE ]
Then why would they be fixing all the Tier 1/2 blast animations?
...
I'm going to stop comlaining about this.
I may hate the absurdity of it but at the end of the day my AR Blaster's getting a 12.5% damage buff, a Fury bar, faster Tier 1/2 attacks and can plug people while mezzed - all for free if you count the current Defiance for nothing.
I'm sure I'll survive. Somehow... -
I will be consoling myself with the damage buff, that's for sure.
I'm a sucker for elegant solutions and this new Defiance just isn't.
...
In an effort to be more helpful and less ranty, here's the lastest from Castle:
[ QUOTE ]
Each time you attack, you get a stacking damage buff with a fixed duration. The value of that buff is determined by the attack fired, and single target attacks will provide a larger effect than AoE attacks (they'll be calculated using the inverse of the number of targets calc used for damage/end costs.) Duration and actual numeric values aren't final yet.
That's on top of the 12.5% Range Damage increase and the cast through status effect for tier 1 and 2 powers.

This is interesting:-

Castle or BaB:
All I want to know at this point is whether this is a done deal?
[/ QUOTE ]
Pretty much. However, it's *not* defiance 2.0; it's a defiance 2.0/Fury hybrid approach. AoE effects will count for less than Single Target effects, as well.

Wonderful, so Defiance is now going to be a mish-mash of not three, but four ideas. -
I'm more concerned about the reasons behind this Tier 1/2 rebalancing: Defiance 2.0 is coming whether we like it or not...

Last night was a lot of fun, though many Trappers had to leave early. We continued with some outside talent for a bit and generally kicked butt all round. Didn't get to the RWZ this week though, soon I hope.
Also - sorry to say - next week we're going to do a couple of paper missions explicitly for pulling and trip mine practise. I know most of you guys know the basics but we never seem to get it to click in casual play and I'd like to see us do that. We'll be using the easy epasy paper missions to test theories, such as pet reactions, what's safe and not safe for the MMs, etc.
Not only will it become a mighty handy skill when we reach the 40s, but also setting traps was one of my chief wants for suggesting this theme team in the first place... (Trip Mines was the only mandatory power pick for this reason.)
I'm not saying we don't rock at what we do, because we're clearly doing so. I hope you don't begrudge me for wanting to expand our playbook a tad! -
DOs/SOs may not be better than IOs, but they're still better than nothing. That's worth remembering.
The advantage of SOs nowadays is that they're much, MUCH cheaper than IOs for only slightly less power. Their downside is they only work within certain level ranges, so you have to keep replenishing them every 5 levels or so. But still, a year ago we were all managing on SOs. -
Oh, don't feel put off by my plans if you want to come along tonight! We have lots of other things we can do.
-
Trapper night again!
Depending on who shows tonight, I wouldn't mind spending a mish or two in RWZ since 5 of us are 35 now. Just enough to be abel to start collecting VG Merits elsewhere! -
Shame it didn't get up to speed in the end. I would've liked to reach the combat phases just to get a sense of how tough the Mitos are.
I would be up for trying it again at a later date. -
I had to quit as I have to get up early tomorrow and it doesn't look like I'd be able to stay to the end of the raid.
Best of luck guys, I hope the experience is educational and I hope you make it! -
I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it this weekend, but please have fun if you do.
Also, don't be afraid to ToT on your own time. I doubt anyone would object. -
I have a kinetic fender for team 2, if we can drum up the support for this. I've never done it before but I'll lead if I have to.
-
I think the event only lasts two weeks, in that case it will most likely be gone before next Monday.
