I just wasn't as well prepared for this weekend as I was the last. Not needing to work on badge credit for anything, I just toyed around a lot, emptied my enhancement vaults on the market (and wishing I had more vaults )
-
I finally stopped buying crap for 2 months, and got my screen shot this weekend.
http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo...eat=directlink
I don't consider myself a real marketeer. I have never researched trends, or bought anything for the express purpose of re-selling it. I do craft common salvage drops into IOs as well as all other unneeded drops and sell them at what I hope is a logical price, and mostly just play the game. (I also never complain about availability, or market price) so if someone with as poor market strategies can earn ~30 mil a day I feel I can honestly say nobody has an excuse for complaining about costs. -
I listed over 200 common IOS over the weekend for 666,666 most selling for 700K but many for 1,000,000 and no less than 10 for 10,000,000 ...... I wish I had planed better and stock piled 400 I honestly thought it would take all weekend to move them, not 36 hours.
-
I don't see them changing the day job requirements any more than changing the vet badge requirements. They are both more for time on account not for achievements in play.
I am surprised they don't add more every issue. They are easy to add, and hard to argue they aren't fair or too hard to get, everyone logs off equally well. -
[ QUOTE ]
The amount of debt you acquire varies with your level at the time you are defeated. Becoming an Exemplar or Malefactor to another hero or villain that has a lower level than you accelerates your debt repayment.
[/ QUOTE ]
The mechanic for this is simply instead of 1/2 xp going to pay off debt and 1/2 going towards the next level 100% goes towards debt.
[ QUOTE ]
I'll admit it specifically only addresses being "in debt", but I'm wondering if the accelerated debt repayment doesn't also occur when NOT in debt, in the form of additional influence in some measure. I'm sorry, but a wiki is NOT an official publication, and Paragon Wiki has been known to have inconsistencies and incorrect information, as have most wikis (that said, however, I generally consider Paragon Wiki to be right on the money 99.9999% of the time, so...)
I don't think I'll be satisfied without some hard data, so I guess I have to do a few experiments before (and during) Double XP Weekend. I'm really interested in pursuing whatever course I can to maximize influence earning toward the "Leader" badge (and yes, I'm aware of tactics such as assembling large teams, doing Ouroboros content, running Katie Hannon TFs, etc.).
Thanks for pointing this out to me, Chuque.
[/ QUOTE ]
Unfortunately I don't have any hard data and even if I did it would be anecdotal at best. but it is my understanding that you earn no inf with exemplared, however the XP that would have gone towards paying off dept gets converted into inf. which except for a few outliers (Ritki comm officers etc) is generally more than the inf gained at the given level.
The best way to test this would be to find an inf source w/o xp or vica versa ... off the top of my head I am thinking hostages in the portal corps parkingllot, may make for an easy test. -

At the con farming my alt I was indeed getting a kill every 5 seconds.
[/ QUOTE ]
and maintaining that for over an hour? If in arena you are limited by the rez delays in pvp zones you are limited by the number of 'wakes you can hold, unless you somehow have a self rez on a 4.5 second recharge (and if that is the case please share! ) most anyone can get 2 kills in 10 seconds but 720 in an hour is impressive. was this a group effort where several people would die, and run for wakes so you had a constant rotating death bed ?
actually that may not make for a bad SG event get a dozen people dieing 12 times an hour. sell the IO split the profits
please correct me if I am wrong:
To keep it simple say the average kill time stained over a period of time greater than 1 hour was 1 minute (you have to get to zone/arena, set up matches or find a quiet corner. have to wait for rez or run to buy more wakes, etc etc etc )
and now we have a 5 minute timer so the the actual time:drop should just be multiplied by 5 so if we were getting 1 an hour we now get 1 every 5 hours. -
[ QUOTE ]
Yup, you get 2x influence/infamy while exemped/malefactored down (NOTE: you do not have to be a 50 to receive this benefit),
[/ QUOTE ]
this is a common misconception. from the wiki:
Note! It is widely believed that an exemplared character gains full normal influence rewards in addition to any extra influence he gets from converted experience. In fact, it's even stated in several player guides, both official and unofficial. This is not true. Playing while exemplared and debt-free will not result in roughly double the usual amount of influence.
wiki under exmplar
what Burnin' up is saying that if you are expmlared, and the other toon is in another zone, the rewards get broken. -
I just re-read this :
[ QUOTE ]
On my Brute I was making about 22-24 mil per hour exemping to 47 and fighting groups of 50's in RWZ while my exemplar on my second account sat in the sg base. Hero side people run the first mish of Katie til their eyes bleed for 20-25 mil per hour during double xp.
[/ QUOTE ]
Was that first part a typo? you were getting 22-24 mil and hour street sweeping effectively +3s in RWZ I get about 1/10th that non exmped ... anytime I have run exemplared I get a slight boost but nothing on that level. .. if true I must test and kick myself for wasting weeks of not months of time
as far as the first mission of Katie Loops that sounds about right I was remembering it being 5 mill a run at ~14 minutes a run. -
[ QUOTE ]
Thanks to all for the input.
I know I can get it eventually. I have a particular bad habit of liking to level up which overrides my badge OCD. I have 26 lvl 50's but those darn Epic badges are like a thorn in my side
[/ QUOTE ]
yeah, badge hunting and alt-itice are often apposing forces... I have a total of 3 lv 50s (1 was lv 50 before badges came out) -
[ QUOTE ]
It's funny but no one I know is currently running many AFK farms right now.
They cut into Day Job badge time.
But I assume once more people start to finish off the Day Job badges (assuming no more are added) then I'll start hearing about people doing them regularly again.
[/ QUOTE ]
This still ~6 months away no? I am at 14 or 15 I think and that was taking advantage of a few of the multi credit spots (and lucking out and getting 3 at issue launch) and I get the feeling that GR will add at least 1.
On a side note it is fun to look at all my random credit bits from either game crashes or toggle drop bugs. -
[ QUOTE ]
I *DISLIKE* the visual despite the effectiveness of the power. Now I can fix that somewhat... (goodbye blue ice shields and yellow flames from hasten).
[/ QUOTE ]
if clear or invisible auras is a choice I'll be happy, but I somehow doubt it, -
I had two common IOs sell for 10 mil each ... not sure if extra 0 applies there or not as they were listed around 1/2 a mill (and as I recall the going rate) for them.
-
As someone that is literally days away from getting Leader; I propose that the secret is to just play. If you are logged in try to spend as much of it being productive. I ran just about any TF that I came across, including 9 ITFs in a row one day, just because as I was exiting I would see a broadcast for another.
however:

But really the only thing that helped get me past the "I'll never get that badge" mindset to the "I might actually be able to get it" mode were the 2x weekends. People seem to be willing to remain super-focused on full teams pretty much every second of those weekends.
[/ QUOTE ]
Holds very true, I know I have earned well over 1/2 if not more across the last 3 2xp weekends as the whole server is just a buzz with an "efficient game play mentality" you will find 7 other people willing to stick together for 4+ hours of solid game play you find other more open to "farming" or "abhorrent" style play to maximize rewards. Last year I ran with several members of an SG that only plays in SG mode on that weekend and they earned enough to support them for the 6 months. and do it w/o losing ground on their personal gains, pretty slick idea if you ask me.
of all the badges the inf badge whould be the least discouraging, as long as you don't dwell on the fact that billions can me made in a few weeks on the market and that doesn't count -
[ QUOTE ]
Also, this post is practically a challenge to some maniac to buy those out! DO IT GOLD FARMERS!?
[/ QUOTE ]
I resemble that remark! -
OK, I am up to the challenge! Anyone want to join me it buying his 10? I am being mostly serious I bought all the luck charms once, it'll take a few of us, and some time to get the funds, but dam the LOL factor alone of seeing his screen shot of 10 luck charms sold for 20 Billion. msg me if you want to coordinated efforts.

I don't mean to down play the RP aspects of this game as apparently it is a far bigger motivating factor that I can imagine; however does different coluored animations really mean that much to people? I see the powerset proliferation as a move to make each AT less unique, I guess it will help min/max toons for their new 9 man farms, so that's good I guess. I know I plan on having a fire/cold defender
Overall I am not that impressed; new content would be nice, or maybe a new (really new) powerset or two. I guess all that is being put into the GR expansion. -
Some day I hope I can stop spending my inf long enough so I cab get a screen shot like that .....
-
based mostly on storage capacity, 100 IOs in a bin Vs. 30 salvage. I tend to craft to IO store and sell as slots allow. now I am wondering if just rolling 80 commons in AE and listing what I get would be more profit.

I found a way. I don't like PvP but went into the zones and spent a lot of time there (especially RV) to get the badges. While I don't like PvP, I respec'ed my badger for it specifically and (fortunately) he's a scrapper.
When PvP'ers attacked me, I acted like a crazed wolverine, doing my best to kill them and, more than once, chasing them halfway across the zone to finish them off. I remember a corruptor in Warburg who attacked me alone. She (female toon) managed to escape initially but I found her 'taking a knee' three blocks away and killed her.
The people looking for easy rep would never come near me again. The "real PvP'ers" would generally be impressed that I put up a good fight, even if I lost, and would be favorably disposed toward me. One actual conversation went:
"Damn, Iron, you're pretty good."
"Thanks, but I'm really only here for the badges."
"LOL! Cool, I'll leave you alone."
More than once, I had a stalker ask me how I saw them. I guess they were newb stalkers. I explained that I had Tactics AND Focused Accuracy and had numerous conversations on powers and tactics with PvP'ers.
I still don't like PvP.
[/ QUOTE ]
My experiences in RV were along the same lines. Fortunately my badger is a tank, so I would be pounding on a pillbox, and then someone would start pounding on me. I would just let them while I continued to focus on my goal. after a few minutes, a few times up to 15 they would give up and move on.
Sometimes they would get friends to try and gang up on me, and sometimes that worked, hosp and go back to what I was doing. The only bad pvp experience was a stalker that even admitted he was just bored and didn't know what else to do, would constantly gank my heavy ( already had that badge so it wasn't even helpful from that perspective) that lasted about 3 hours. ... man it is slow to take down a PB solo on a tank.
I have nothing against PvPers, often they are the best PvEers in the game... (if you dodge a wrench ...) -

Wait, are you saying you earned half a million prestige in an evening?
Or does this include: 1) the 300K from 15 starting toons and/or 2) trading in influence?
[/ QUOTE ]
I have 9 members so far I dual boxed for a while and between the two earned a bit over 300K for a total of little over 500K
[ QUOTE ]
P.S. The right way to do this would have been to plan ahead, back when they had the prestige grant. I have 2 SGs and a VG with no bases, but sitting on over 6 million prestige from the grants.
[/ QUOTE ]
Uhh, wasn't that almost two years ago, I know hindsight is 20/20 and all, but I gave away all my stuff, quit the game for over a year, came back, re-purpled my mains etc .. since then. At no point until yesterday would I have guessed I would have ever wanted my own base.
but thanks for the advice! -
I took some time and added up what I think I'll need and came up with 4.03 mil. so we are either right, or wrong in the same direction. I found an excel tool in the guides that let me play with room placement a little and I got everything into a 12x12 not sure if I could shoehorn into an 8x12 .. ohh wait looks like you are correct sir 8x12 will work for the crap I want.
-
So a few years late, I am finally getting around to starting a solo sg. The group I run with is great, but I got the bug to build a more efficient base. I took an couple alts started the SG got a base, and ran around a bit last night collecting 1/2 a mil prestige.
THEN I started reading a few guides and wikis and what not. From my preliminary research it looks like having a utilitarian base with max storage, transport, and a rez ring I am looking at about 6mil prestige. how far off am I?
I am assuming I can squeeze everything into a 12x16 plot, or will I need to go bigger?
Also I was thinking I want to make basically a warehouse of a base is there some trick to creating the "rooms" with out walls?
Finally is there some kind of mids like tool for base building? -
I still think they should move the AE building from atlas to the top of the Storm Palace. ... what?
