  1. Pretty good! Might be a little fast though, since I had to let it run through twice to read the dialogue.
  2. Yay for Say!!!

See, told ya you didn't really have to worry.
  3. 5 minutes earlier

The pair of rotating wheels that float in the air suddenly ripple as the air explodes from out of their center, the familiar glowing-white ball of energy that represented an open portal hovering in the space left. Out of that ball flew Halley's Comet, returning from the Shadow Shard to spend some time back in Paragon City. She floated down and smiled to the nearby tech who was operating the monitoring station, when she noticed his somber expression.

"Tim, what's wrong? You're usually pretty cheerful..."

"Hey Jess, welcome back to Prime. Yeah, uh..." Tim looked away hesitantly, rubbing his chin. Should he really mention what he'd overheard? He wasn't supposed to know what Roy and Peggy were doing, but he'd been passing through the offices on the way to his station when he'd heard the techs discussing finding a new dimension for Peggy... he'd hung near the door listening to them talk about what was going on, and it had ate at him every since.

    "Well see, it's about HEROID..."

Jessica sucked in a breath. "What about him?"

    Now

    BOOM!

The sound of a large object crashing through one of the thick, durasteel walls reverberated through the building, and Comet's head immediately swung in the direction of the landing above. "That came from the other portal room, where Peggy was supposed to be going through!"

She didn't wait; activating her subzero defensive systems, she flew up to the landing and banked rapidly down the corridor, dodging between the stunned scientists that were just picking themselves off of the floor. As she blasted out over the landing that overlooked the other portal, she was just in time to see Roy transform into his humaniod form, and watch the portal operators drag Peggy out of the way.

"ROY!" She screamed; her optical sensors could see just what sort of punishment his body was taking from holding up all of that twisted metal. Then, she saw a ripple of some unidentified energy start to surround him.

"NO!" She flew down, pushing her thermals as much as she could. Never had that short distance to the ramp seem so far...

It was over in seconds. The portal operators risked their own lives by dashing in and pulling Peggy out of harm's way. Then Roy changed forms again and let the unyielding tonnage fall unmercifully upon him.

The pile of material formed a roughly pyramid shape where it had toppled onto Roy. It smoked, beams of twisted metal still red-hot from the loosened energies of the portal.

    The pile... shifted.

More pieces of metal slagged off from the rubble, and then more. Beneath it all, standing over HEROID's prone robotic form was Halley's Comet. Her arms trembled under the tremendous strain of holding up the remaining flotsam from the destroyed portal; her right leg was destroyed below the knee, driven down into itself by the weight of the material.

    But she held.

With a quick thought, she sent a quick burst transmission to Roy's mediport transceiver. She waited for his body to fade from sight. Then, with all of her systems redlining, she activated her own.

As soon as her body faded from sight, the pile collapsed once more.
  4. Awesomesauce! Love the new pic Foo!

If any of that makes any sense... eh, just go hold something.

  6. Agreed! Very nice. It's almost a hybrid Teen Titans/Incredibles style (if that makes sense).

    I could live with that.

    Link time!

I'd be honored if you'd link my humble collection, Bayani! Link is in my sig.

At the top of that page is a link to some pics that are sized to work as avatars here (I was trying to make a animated one, but the screens I shrunk down came out badly). The middle one would probably work best.
  9. Wrong red-name, Samoa. Or did you mean to say Cricket?

Anyways, my main is already on test in her current form; if it's cool with everyone else, I'll show up too (but no art for me please; let those that haven't gotten much or any yet have a shot instead).
  10. Maybe try refreshing? It's working fine for me...

    Try this: http://akane-no-hime.deviantart.com/gallery/?order=9

You have naked photos of Brandon with a goat don't you?

    That must be it!

    Excuse me sir!!

I was fully clothed in those shots and it was no goat!

    It was Sayterra

Wow. All three are great pics, Veldt.

I think I know who I'll be going to next for commisions... when I get out of my current money issues, that is.
  16. Heh, for once I'm glad that I hadn't gotten a commision from an artist.
  17. Don't hold your breath, Ace.

These are the same devs that don't get that keeping Dominators neutered against AVs/GMs is wrong since they can't fall back on their secondary without putting themselves at ridiculous risk, while giving them a buff that only works when a Dom teams up. And on top of that, calling Dominators whiners and saying we want an 'I Win' button.

  18. There's a reason I don't much play my main any longer, and why I won't seriously roll up another tanker.

    This is why.
  19. That's fantastic! Good job!
  20. Why're you apologizing to us, Say? It should be us offering our condolences. I doubt anyone will be miffed that you lost the artwork even though you took plenty of steps to protect it.

But to back up what Sagittary said, if you're in a RAID5 array and you didn't lose all of the drives (highly unlikely), you should be able to recover your stuff.
  21. Oh DAMN!

That's like... wow. Holy crap is that cool!!

    Thanks!
  22. I think it's just something on your computer, as when I tried the sinister outfit, I didn't see this.

I was hoping to capture the freedom of flight, or at least the individual character's moment of joy in his wings. I've been looking forward to wings for over 2 years when they were intended to be part of a winged-AT... so having them finally coming to the players is something I've long anticipated.

That's why the costume was a little less important; White Peregrine represents every hero who's wanted wings.

Into the distance, a ribbon of black
stretched to the point of no turning back
a flight of fancy on a wind swept field
    standing alone my sense reeled
a fatal attraction holding me fast, how
can I escape this irresistable grasp?
can't keep my eyes from the circling sky
    tongue-tied & twisted just an earth-bound misfit, I
ice is forming on the tips of my wings
unheeded warnings, I thought I thought of everything
no navigator to guide my way home
unladened, empty and turned to stone

a soul in tension that's learning to fly
condition grounded but determined to try
can't keep my eyes from the -circling- skies
    tongue-tied & twisted just an earth-bound misfit, I

above the planet on a wing and a prayer
my grubby halo, a vapour trail in the empty air
across the clouds I see my shadow fly
out of the corner of my watering eye
a dream unthreatened by the morning light
could blow this soul right through the roof of the night

there's no sensation to compare with this
suspended animation, a state of bliss
can't keep my mind from the circling sky
    tongue-tied & twisted just an earth-bound misfit, I

  24. Agreed. I'll miss his stuff, but you gotta pay the bills, y'know?

    Good luck Gil!

    Wrong.

NCSoft has an American branch, and they own the servers. Yes, Cryptic operates them, but NCSoft is the one that determines the operational downtimes.
