No you cannot...however when i saw this, I tried to buff them with my thermal shields and after buffing them they were re-added as my pets..strange stuff indeed. I bugged it naturally..but if you can't do that, you can right click on them and dismiss them. Then re-summon.

Yeah..I was running my claws\wp brute and I noticed that spin is just crazy...I'd get full fury (as full as it gets), then jump in the middle of a spawn and spin...and normally the first spin would take out all minions....sure is purrty.

I joined a low level PuG last night with my ice\earth dom and just by chance everyone ended up being a /earth dominator. What was funny is at one point we invited another person to the team who was a corruptor and I think he was new because he said something like 'why do you all keep punching the ground?....it looks awesome!'. I have to admit it was kind of funny seeing a whole team of people all punching the ground and repeatedly hitting tremor.
So far earth assault is turning out to be a lot more fun then I thought it would be...and that's the most important part right . -
I guess you're saying that when I color my sewer themed dar\kin corruptor with dark greens and browns...that when i create brown TT's...that isn't funny? bummer...sure does entertain me though.

Quote:I understand the point, I just disagree with it.I think the main point people are making is that only healing is not contributing fully to a team.
Quote:You can heal, buff, debuff, and blast..... all on the same corrupter!
Quote:So ask yourself this.
Is a team more effective when the corrupter only spams heals, or when they spam heals and blast during the recharge times?
The thing is that is totally fine imho. I've been on teams where I've gotten the ice shields from cold corrs, or the fire shields from thermal and never needed a heal because of it. Is it ideal? Certainly not, but I wouldn't have a problem asking such a corr to toss in a heal every now and then if they wouldnt mind, but I wouldnt kick them and go hunting for another corr. -
Quote:It is my time with MY character. I personally don't play this style, but I don't have a problem with it as long as it's contributing to the team (which healing is...standing there picking your nose isn't). I am more then happy to not be a part of YOUR team if you feel the need to police everyone's play-style that doesn't match yours and kick them because you don't approve. That's not why I started playing Coh many years ago and I'm happy to surround myself with people who aren't elitist play-style police like you.On your own time sure, but when I want to get a mission done, don't complain if I pass you over.
If someone wants to focus on healing\supporting the team while the rest of the team bashes the bad\good guys face in...I'm perfectly happy with that (and I've had MANY successful teaming events where there are people who do just that).
So by all means, pass me up...I'm here to have fun, not power game myself into boredom. -
This would be why I, above all else, I think it's totally fine for someone to play like this. Having run, doing a little rp, and helping keep the team alive..if that's you're thing..there is nothing wrong with that. I really don't understand the mentality that it's a wasted slot on a team..it's not like they're sitting there picking their nose and not contributing....they might be picking their nose...which, while a little gross, still is ok as long as they're doing 'something' for the team.
-
What is wrong with someone wanting to focus on healing? Frankly there are times where I wish there were more people who'd heal me (who have heals) while I'm SMASHING.
Are you off your rocker? In my opinion...yes. Could i team with a corruptor that only healed...absolutely. -
Yeah I will be IO'ing...right now I'm slowing putting in standard IO's (lvl35's) and eventually ill get to the non-standard ones...when I've figured out how to afford it.
-
Isn't part of the advantage of fault + will power the disorient that applies to minions? So that if you are surrounded by a lot of minions you would buy yourself more time then just the time it takes them to get up from the KD to regen via Rttc. My thought with having both was to open with fault, kd and disorient...fire off some single target attacks and when they are back up and wobbly...hit tremor to knock them down again and then rinse and repeat. This would seem to buy a lot of regen time. When patron powers come into play, combining a fully slotted fault with a patron immob make this even easier to accomplish and keep them in rttc range. I'm still new to will power, but that is what i had envisioned and it seems to be working so far (although only lvl 33 right now).
-
I dont know what it is, but on my 2nd build where I have both fault and tremor, it actually does seem to flow much better, to my surprise. Will have to see how it can be tweaked...thanks for nudging me towards taking it and trying it out.
-
Doesn't really bother me...just trying to build a non-stop attack chain with sm\wp without spending a billion inf and it seemed to me that tremor with it's relatively low damage and long animation time would really hurt my buzz saw playstyle. That being said...I do like the thought of combining fault+tremor to neuter a spawn....ill have to give that a whirl on my 2nd build to see how it works.
-
Quote:That's the one thing I don't like about fault. All the stunned mobs wander away, which is really the only reason I even consider picking up tremor...but I know I'll regret it. I suppose when I get to patrons it'll be better.Tremor, IMO is disruptive to the flow of this build. I tried it, hated it, dropped it. It DOES have it's uses, but with all the KD .. having KB slows the speed of your teams progress and worse, it makes your taunting tougher to pull off if they're spread all over the place and wandering away while disoriented. That makes Stone / WPs main weakness even more glaring.
Thanks for the feedback everyone... definitely gives me something to SMASH on. -
Hell yeah. I'm on the fence about tremor, I'll probably pass on it, but definitely not fault as I know it'll help keep me alive and allow my regen to kick in a little.
Quote:Also, what Gruumch said about boosting your recharge, via frankenslotting, Hasten, and/or set bonuses.
So with just regular SO's and IO's, would it be better to rotate between stone fist and maybe boxing (since I'll be picking up tough) and mix in the mallets and seismic smash when fury is up there? -
Hey all,
I'm half way through with a side project of mine (sm\wp) and I'm one bubble away from 32 and i decided that I wanted to repec him a little at 32. My current attack chain, which has served me relatively well from lvl 1 has been stone mallet\brawl\heavy mallet\brawl\air sup and then toss in seismic smash where necessary. I've done some searching and I've seen a number of people recommend doing away with stone mallet and use stone fist instead.
So, for a lvl 32 stone melee\willpower brute, is there a better attack chain for ST damage\fury building (obviously endurance is less of a problem for this toon...as I have both stamina and qr).
Thanks for any suggestions! -
I've tried quite a few times to get an electric corruptor going, but the damage always seems to get in the way (i.e. lack there of). The secondary effect of electric seems nice on paper (-END\-END recovery), but it seems like an awful lot of work to really make that work as an effective secondary effect..especially early on. Most other primaries have a useful secondary effect (slows, -def, -res, more damage, kb, -tohit) right out of the gate. Low damage + -END as a secondary effect really doesn't do much...at least for me personally. I will keep trying eventually though...as I really want an elec\dark corruptor, but it's a really....really slow road so far and it's actually quite painful (could be my playstyle though).
So that's probably why...at least that's what I've chalked it up to when I've gone and looked for a guide for electric corrupting. -
that's what i figured...thanks for the feedback!

Aren't MM's getting thermal in i16? Is that what we're talking about here?
-
So I'm building a paper dragon MM (ninjas\pain) and I'm wondering, when it comes to power pics, should I pick up provoke or maneuvers first? I'm leaning towards provoke, but it doesn't seem to last long at all (at most 1 mob attack before they redirect). Would I get more mileage out of maneuvers with Ninjas early on?
-
I've been itching to make a dominator for some time. The thing is that there is something about earth that I love...so What would pair really well with it (solo and teams)?
I'm DIRT poor, so lets not go down the road of "this + 6 billion inf would make an awesome build".
fire - on paper this seems like it'd go well. lots of damage output (aoe, cone, pbaoe, fire embrace)
ice - -slows and -rechg, cone, PBaoe, and power boost
elec - seems single target oriented for the most part...and melee..but seems like the damage is high.
energy - has the mack truck known as power push...pretty good ranged chain + power boost
psi - psi damage, cone, aoe, and drain psyche
thorns - toxic damage (and redraw...ugh), -def seems to go well with earths -def, thorntrops + quicksand + procs?
I actually like the idea of thorns, the the redraw drive me NUTS. Why are we at i15 already and still things require redraw repeatedly?
I'm kind of torn...I know I want earth (and don't want to wait for earth assault)...any suggestions on which mixes well with earth and has been fun to play (team + solo)? Seems like thorns would be a good mix and I'm leaning that way.
Thanks for any input. -
Could you perhaps post your build? I think that would go a long ways to helping you.
-
could you post your current build? That might help.

For what its worth, Containment doesn't work like that anyway.
If what you're seeing is 18 dmg on one activation and 36 dmg on the next, that's definitely a resistance thing. If it were a containment buff, you'd see 18 18 dmg over the enemies head.
[/ QUOTE ]
I actually saw this yesterday...it was not consistent though...but I was definitely getting double damage (where I saw the damage number twice above the head of the mob i was attacking). This was solo..on a mission...maybe it's some kind of bug that fires under certain circumstances....I'm pretty sure I was under the affects of domination at the time it occurred. -
I've been trying to figure out just 'what' makes these two so good together (beyond cosmic burst + howling twilight). Is it irradiate+tar patch (with maybe throwing in electron haze afterward)?
-
[ QUOTE ]
Yes; combining the two will stun even bosses ( Defenders were doing that well before Corruptors even got Storm, actually ).
[/ QUOTE ]
Well I figured that ...just wasn't sure if it was worth the wait (to get to 28 to use the combo).
