If this is happening on Champion and the leader has my global, send me a PM and I'd be willing to work out what the issue is.

Could only make the last run but looked like a solid league. Congrats on the badges!

I should be around and more than willing to help.

Quote:From what I understood about Positron's post, the issue wasn't that people weren't running trials, but that they were preferentially running BAF and Lambda. The data mining revealed this discrepancy, but didn't explain why it was happening. That is why they looked at player feedback to provide an explanation. See below:Maybe you missed Positron's "Y U NO RUN TRIALS?" post:
The changes were based on objective data-mining, not just number of complaints.

Happened again on Champion. League wide crash just before the final fight with Maelstrom. Used the strategy that ignores Telepathists outside...
...Now I'm in a mission with some level 22s. -
Already have the badges but I'll bring whatever and help out.

Quote:Saying that TPN could benefit from some of the suggestions listed by a given poster is not the same as saying that I agree with said poster's assessment of the trial in its entirety or the manner in which they expressed it. With that said, I disagree that the devs should pay special attention to their opinion (and others like it) and implement changes accordingly, which is what your posts seemed to suggest they should be doing. I would hope that they'd take a variety of opinions into consideration before adjusting a trial. If you think the TPN could use some of the improvements Snow Globe listed then you do agree. I have run ALL of the trials many times on my 35 50's all to T3 or 4 in all of the slots. I have had good and bad trials as I have mentioned more than once. The issue has NOTHING to do with running the trials once or twice NOTHING.
The second part of my post was addressed to the OP, as I indicated, and was not a reference to the number of times you have personally run all of the trials. -
Quote:I know of a couple more instances of this bug that were posted here but there didn't seem to be any mention of the strategy used in those cases.Had a second instance happen on Triumph, just curious, we had EVERYONE INSIDE for the last building before the final fight with Mael. Anyone else have this tactic going on for the mass DC/unable to log on bug?

Quote:This, Snow Globe's posts and others like this need to be sent in an e-mail to the devs.Quote:Originally Posted by Darth KhaseiThe devs actually need to listen to this guy and Snow Globe. They have outlined the issue very very well.
To the OP:
While I think TPN could benefit from some minor improvements, I think you'll find that after running it a few times, it is actually a very simple trial. I would not give up on a trial after one bad experience. -

I realize that this topic has been brought up in the past, but I feel it deserves some more acknowledgement.
When iTrials first came out, I ran a lot of them as closed leagues. At some point months ago, closed leagues became bugged such that members in excess of 19 were booted from the trial upon loading and unable to rejoin. Not only that, but the league leader and teams would scramble. The team scramble is much more of an annoyance than anything else, but the fact that members over 19 are kicked is a huge problem. This is effectively limiting the number of people that can participate.
I noticed that the "19 kick bug" didn't happen on open leagues. For a while myself and a lot of other leaders switched to open leagues to avoid the issue entirely. Open leagues worked out just fine until I ran into issues with players using the vote to kick option to grief another player. This player was booted from a few trials by anonymous parties (since it doesn't say who initiated the vote). Additionally, the system is registering votes without players actually voting. It even told the player who was kicked that he had registered a vote to remove himself from the league.
This has basically left me with two highly unattractive options. 1) To start a trial as a closed league and tell people I'm full at 19, even in a zone full of people looking to join. 2) To run as an open league and allow my league members to be kicked at random due to a personal grudge or conflict, with no way to establish who is doing the kicking. So far, I have chosen to limit all my leagues to 19 people. I don't enjoy doing this, but I'd much rather limit my league size than deal with anonymous griefers.
As stated above, these are not new problems, as they have been going on for months. They were also discussed here, here and here. I have sent bug reports in game to help identify the above issues. So far, I have not seen these issues on the Known Issues list or receive formal acknowledgement. I understand immediate fixes are not always possible, but it would be nice to know if progress is being made. Alternatively, I would be more than happy to provide additional information regarding the circumstances of the bug if it would help to identify and fix it.
(If I have overlooked something, a link would be much appreciated.) -
Congratulations everyone!
Special thanks to the people who made it out almost every week to support these runs, and of course, Placta for hosting them. Job very well done all around. -
Quote:Incarnate trials run almost every night starting from around 6pm Eastern onward. On weekends it varies. RWZ is the typical start zone. In fact, there's a Lambda forming right now.During my last couple of weeks playing on Champion, i have been noticing there isn't all that many people around to run this content with, at least when i have time to play. I guess that is most frustrating part. Perhaps i'm better off just getting my Incarnate drops elsewhere and transfer back when i'm all set.
What times do you usually play? -
Having a league made entirely of +3s isn't necessary for a normal run of any trial. However, I could see why someone would make this request for certain badge runs. Are you sure the runs you were trying to get on weren't Master runs?
With that said, I would recommend being at least +1 for UGT, MoM and TPN since these trials have level shifted AVs (level 54+1 and 54+2 respectively) and tend to have a noticeably higher failure rate when there are several level 50s present. BAF, Lambda and Keyes still get done quite often and I've never seen anyone on Champion ask for level shifts for standard runs of those trials.
I'd also recommend taking the issue up with the leader of the trial directly and listen to their rationale first hand. Also keep in mind that not every leader is going to run trials the same way, so if you disagree with a particular leader, keep it in mind for next time and either join another trial or form one up according to how you think it should be done. -
Quote:This. First thing I'd do is get yourself into a global channel where trials will be announced. To find these, I'd go to the individual server forums and look around or ask. You'll also want to figure out what zone the server uses. Some servers use Pocket D, others RWZ.Really you can probably get them on a number of servers if you join the appropriate server-specific chat channels.
Personally, I play on Champion and often lead trials there along with several other players. On weekdays, they usually pick up around 7pm Eastern and run into the night, sometimes late. Occasionally you might get on an early afternoon trial. They run at almost any time on weekends. We use RWZ for regular runs and Pocket D for scheduled badge runs.
Most leaders will start off with a BAF, Lambda or Keyes to get everyone going then move onto the more difficult trials. There's not really a trial that doesn't get done on Champion, though I will say that since the new ones came out there's been a shift in focus on getting them done more often. I suspect in a while there will be a very decent variety.
In terms of badge runs, it depends on the trial. If you voice interested in Mo BAF most leagues are willing to give it a go right then and there. Mo Keyes runs happen every Sunday at 3:30pm Eastern. For UGT, it's not uncommon to land yourself on a "bomb badge run".
If you're interested, head on over to the Champion forums and give us a shout. -

*Currently Recruiting:
Not currently looking for new members.
RP Level:
Non RP.
PvP Level:
Very rarely do we PvP. We have had SG PvP nights in the past, but otherwise not a focus. Sometimes we PvP on lowbies just for laughs.
*Theme/Concept:
No specific theme.
*Activity:
We are a fairly small SG of about 10 to 15 members. Some are more active than others. Time zones and work schedules vary, but we're most active between 6pm and 12am Eastern on weekdays and generally have a good showing on weekends.
Requirements for Membership:
Our SG was built on the premise that people should actually enjoy the SG they're in and playing with the people in it. Despite the fact that we don't actively recruit, sometimes someone will appear to be a good fit in terms of playstyle, teamwork, sense of humor, etc. We also enjoy keeping our group small and fairly personal, and therefore are not constantly looking to expand. Sometimes we're just happy as is and don't feel the need to change anything.

We mostly have coalitions with smaller SGs that are starting out and may want to use our base.
Other Details:
I started Renaissance de la Veritas on August 18th of 2006. We're mostly a PvE SG that enjoys running TFs/SFs, teams and trials on a daily basis, as well as the occasional CoP. Our main form of communication is a global chat channel, as we play on both blueside and redside (our VG is called Umbras de la Veritas). Our SG website is used mostly for scheduling events and posting builds for feedback or ideas.

Just wanted to say the work you've done looks amazing. Our directory was in desperate need of an overhaul. Thank you for taking the initiative on this one. I also hope that those new to our server will find it a useful tool.

I almost always ask the following question before starting a trial: "Is there anyone who hasn't done this before?"
The way people respond tells me a lot about the level of understanding the league has. I will then adjust according to the league. If there are a lot of people who claim to be new, I'll go over the trial in greater detail before we start and reiterate certain things as they become relevant during the trial. If there are only a couple people that are new, I'll go over the most important points before the trial starts and explain the rest as we go. Sometimes I'll also offer to explain the trial in more detail if people still have questions after we're finished. If everyone says they've done it before, I'll usually just hit the high points as we go so that we can get started faster.
Sometimes I get people who tell me that this is their first trial ever. At that point, I'll even go over things like how to add League Chat, how to open your League UI, where the hospital is, the fact that you can buy inspirations there, how to rejoin if you DC, etc. -
Quote:Nope, this was on Champion. Were you with us on Triumph? Same thing happened to us.
-
Quote:Perhaps then it would be advantageous to explain the trial and get inspirations before actually launching it. Both commonly used starting zones have inspiration vendors nearby. That way, even if you have a false start, people should have enough wakies, etc. For later phases, people will have had the experience of how the portals work and will be less likely to accidentally run in.Oh, it was clearly obvious who jumped the gun. I was watching the portal with everyone behind me.
The player in question assumed that, like other portals, you had to click on it. Even though they were asked to wait behind me (I was between the portal and the inspiration vendor), that clearly didn't happen. -
Quote:This is true, you could not use the method I posted on a MoTPN.In our 8-person TPN last night, Shinobi had three people out doing telepaths.
I also don't see any problems with the method to ignore them, except that you can't get the badge for stopping them from converting civilians on that run.
...Though we did a successful Master of TPN a few nights ago too. =D
The way I see it though, it's nice to know you have the option to do it either way depending on the league. I can see keeping everyone inside being extremely beneficial on a league that has a hard time avoiding civilians.
