Goodbye All!
This will be my last post on the forums.
This has been one of the best gaming experiences ever.
Going to concentrate more on writing and less on gaming,
so leaving those interested with few links to stories
inspired in some part to this game. "Super Heroes NOW!"
is based on the gravity and mind controllers. But then
you'll know that.:
A CoH inspired short story "Super Heroes NOW!"
and a few others. Superheroes, Vampires, Aliens Oh my!
SUPER HEROES NOW!
Synopsis: Captain Flak, Mezmo, and RetroBution are the local costumed heroes. They have no super powers, but provide super community services, as they like to call them. This night, before they go on street patrol, they will meet their biggest fan an overly enthusiastic nine-year-old boy, who thinks they really have super powers. (Superhero, Humour)

AN ACQUIRED TASTE
Synopsis: The Gulrathian Empire has sent it's finest battle cruiser to wipe out a small Earth colony. They were the deadliest warriors in the sector, giants by human standards, and this would be their first encounter with humans. They assumed it would be easy and quick, however, they made one error - They didn't know their enemy. (Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Action)

LEX TALIONIS
Synopsis: Sometimes, to destroy evil it takes something equally dark a selective malevolence that will do what others will not, or cannot do. Think Dexter meets Darth Vader. (Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Action, Graphic Violence).

EA pulled the plug on Earth & Beyond in 2004. It was (and is) a very good game. My favourite online game until CoH came along.
CoH is a great game! If E&B can be resurrected by a third party, perhaps CoH can as well. It has even more going for it more players, more content, etc.
I'll be playing CoH to the very end.
After that you might find me here:

Hi All!
It was a surprise to find out the end of the game is near.
This has been my favourite online game.
Thanks to all those I've teamed up with over the years.
I'll leave you with a CoH inspired story – "Super Heroes NOW!" and a few
others.

I'll be playing to the very end. And then...
See some of you in another game. It's been fun!
Rob. (aka: V for Vampire, Zhadum, and too many others – I'm an altaholic.) -
Yes, a warning. Being called an idiot for asking a question.
I don't need answers to any questions I have about this game that badly.
It's only a game.
A very good game mind you -
By-the-way, thanks for the welcome Werner.

Quote:OK. You like accuracy? I'll start practicing here and now.I'm not, but then, I never am.
I think what sparked most of the antagonism was the fact that he posted on every single forum with what amounted to the exact same information. When he made his apology, it was the exact same post that he just made, once again, in every single forum. It's not entirely what he said, however incorrect it might have been, because we're rather used to incorrect information being posted (which is why you had people like us correcting him so viciously so quickly). It's more how he decided to post all of it.
I originally posted all archetypes in two posts, one for CoV, the other for CoH on the general archetypes forum. I forgot to flag COH (another mistake you can exploit). I then posted the pulled out specific archetypes for the specific forum for said archetype - scrappers in scrappers, controllers in controllers. Yes, I had the same lead-in paragraphs but not the same information build. It was not the "exact same" information. Yes, there was some overlap of the individual builds that were also on the larger posts on the general archetype forum. So there was some overlap of the information in all the posts. I'm not going to work out the percentages. I'll leave that up to you. Work it out and get back to me on that, will you. I'm curious.
I spammed an apology? I'll write variations on the theme next time.
Also, my original posts were not posted in every single forum. I didn't post in Dominators, Kheldians and Soldiers of Arachnos. That's not "every single formum". I'm sorry for the correction but that is a 23% difference (I divided 3 by 13? Is that right?) You have corrected me for far less of a percentage. If we're being fair. Well, at least I don't correct viciously. You'd be mad at me right now if I did, instead of taking this in stride as I know you are. Curious. By "vicously", do you mean in such a way as to humiliate as well as correct? You may want to re-think that approach.
>It's more how he decided to post all of it.
And you're the post monitor are you?
I'll run things past you next time to get your permision.

Points well taken. You are correct Werner. I like your approach. I agree with what you said, and WILL try very hard to avoid missleading players with incorrect information in the future... ...OK, I'm back. Had to break for lunch. The Kraft dinner analogy got me hungry. Just a second while I remove my gloves... I appologized. Posted my appology on every one of my posts previously, after which I was told in no uncertain terms via email by a couple of individuals (no one on this thread) to never post here again. Well, that kinda crap doesn't stop me if those people are reading this. I will continue to post here and anywhere else I like. Report me if I make you cry too much. I WILL be much more careful in what I say. I'm not going to put myself in this position again, believe me. It's very distasteful to me. My fault. I WAS WRONG!!! That's a shout out to the few dead horse kickers. Your free kicks are officially used up now! I deserved it up to this point. No point in arguing from a weak position. It WON'T happen again. Next time, I'll be kicking back.

I'ved played both an Earth/Storm and Plant/Storm to about level 43/41 respectively.
Everything has pretty well be said about the two. I would pick Earth/Storm if I were
planning on playing more with teams and not so much solo. It's a control monster.
I would pick Plant/Storm if you plan to solo more, but works well in a team also. The AoE damage from any one power is not that great but once 5 or more are in play, damage is very good and takes the enemies down surprisingly fast. It seems to be even faster than my fire/rad troller. In any case, both have been the most fun of all the archetypes I've ever played. Whichever one you pick you should have some fun. -
No. I'm just appologizing for some of these posts in general. Not to any specific comment made here. Just trying to appease a few of the vets marking their territory at present.
-
Don't sweat it. I won't be posting any time soon.
-
Oh, yeah. I don't want to single anyone out. Let's just say I understand exactly where this person is coming from. I've been there myself. It's hard, but you can get through it. Email me, we'll talk.

I realize now after being informed by a number of vet players that these forums are not frequented much by newer players. Obviously I was unaware of this change in forum dynamics. The last time I posted, I think George Bush was running for his second term.

An interesting dynamic needs to be pointed out for this and any dual benifit powers-
If you want to get the most of both heal AND damage from this power, slotting for recharge gives you better damage and heal over time. Example: 3 acc, 3 heal gives you the same healing over time as 3 acc, 3 recharge (you heal 2 times for default amount, compared to one heal for twice as much as default = same heal total), BUT with the faster (2x) recharge you would be doing double damage over time as well,
as if you had slotted 3 acc, 3 damage.
Or to put it more simply - 3 acc, 3 rech is like sloting 3 acc, 3 heal, 3 damage.
A 9 slot build! Joy.
It's an interesting dynamic that can be exploited. -
Great Points. Being an altaholic, I know I have a problem - leveling up and not fine tuning to max out powers. Anyway, you're slotting is better than a 70% averaging improvement across the board over my initial slotting.
