Quote:Both the ponytail and the bun style :<Is the hair there? Like, the "braids pulled back in a ponytail" hairstyle? That's all I was interested in.
Chainsaws aren't exactly a stealthy weapon but I NEED a post apocalyptic ninja.

I'm mega pissed about this. It was THE holy grail of costume sets to me. Its just cruel to have a taste then have it ripped away forever a few days later;_;
FACEY FACEY FACE FACE!!!!
Go out and enjoy it while you can, I know I will.
Dink, if you're still lurking around the forums, thanks for your hard work!
The gloves and shoulderpads really made this costume!

That reminds me of my brief time in CO...
There was a dev in the city (and I assume it was a dev since their name prefaced by (Dev) or was it Dev_ and their own special color in chat), but it was more like they were complaining and trolling zone chat like any other player and not doing any actual work or addressing questions. If you're just going to screw around, use the non-dev account.
I know our devs like to pop on and play around too but they still maintained a sense of professionalism.
On topic, I don't have a whole lot of gripes about the game itself but I do have some about certain people that really sucked the fun out of it at times. But that all worked out in the end anyway. -
The cynical crowd will always be there to pick things apart and attempt sabotage. Pay them no mind. It just kills them to see people being hopeful and staying active (even if its futile, its better than moping around and pissing all over everyone else)
People KNOW this is a slim to none chance but it can't hurt to try. -
Quote:Clearly you do not know Disney.Shhhhhhh, you'll dispel the hope and dreams.
Meanwhile, I'm getting screen shots and bios together for my sex-toy themed SG "The Mechanized Dildettes" to send to Mickey. Wait till the House of Mouse sees how creative we can get with flesh tones and the boob slider in the costume creator!

I'm lousy with names but his costume should consist of a tie that is also a domino mask.
Like... the only difference between his hero costume and civillian wear is that the tie doubles as a mask.
Ripping off your clothes every time there's trouble or taking the time to squeeze into spandex is costly.
And then a name and powerset popped into mind. Time is Money (see, lousy with names) uses time manipulation to get things done efficiently... yeah I don't know.
EDIT: No! better name... THE CALCULATOR -
It would be nice but collecting the winnings sucks. Either you get something lame like 50K a year paid to you over 400 years or they take more than half of it for "tax purposes" :<
Either way, you'd never see the full 425 mil -

I still want to know what their plan was for the costume pieces that got rotated out :<

I really do hate acknowledging the grimy side of the coin sometimes but this crossed my mind...
Say they did buy CoX but decided to shut it down somewhere down the line, would we be in an even worse situation with freeing up the IP and code?
Disney isn't one to let go of things and can be pretty brutal when it comes to unofficial reproductions.
Boycotting disney would accomplish absolutely nothing, they're an invincible beast. Of course they would probably give it a more dignified death than NCSoft did, resulting in little backlash. -
Quote:I thought about that too, but if its all under the same owner is it still competition?Ah Disney owns Marvel. Marvel has it's own MMO or two. Why would they want competition?
Just pointing out the obvious flaws.
Everyone has a different taste, would it hurt to introduce a new flavor?
Of the Marvel MMOs I know of are Marvel Heroes (which could have easily been a single-player game) and Superhero Squad (which is aimed at children, not a full-blown MMO for an older audience) neither something I took a whole lot of interest in. -

Quote:Its odd to me that it would matter for either side unless they have some kind of insecurity about being called the incorrect gender or assuming the speaker was a gender they aren't.well a little background.
I didnt think it was relevant either but as someone pointed out, unless stated otherwise, people tend to assume the speaker is male and of course there is really an unakward way to remain neutral in text, i.e he/she type deal. So to me, being assumed male was getting old especially since in the past, many times, I said I was female. Then someone suggested putting it in the sig because really no would be able to tell abd would naturally just assume male. That way they know which one to use without assuming male, which seemed to be the natural thing to do instead of for once assuming female. It sounded like a good idea, and thus here it is. A little reminder i nthe bottom so it's easy to use the proper one.
Personally, I don't mind being called he/she/it/whatever in a setting such as a forum. Face to face is another matter as it should be clear what I am.
When addressing someone in a forum setting, I call them by name or he/she if the name/avatar suggest one or the other (in the event of a manly name but a girly avatar... coin toss!) -
I don't understand why gender is even relevant to a post or a character played.

A lovely, permanent installation of this on every possible billboard in the Gangnam district.
NCSoft did say CoX was a much-loved member of the family so they should be happy to see ol' Statey's picture at every turn, right? -
There's two groups that I know of
Save CoH facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/SaveCityofHeroes/
a lot of nice people there
Titan Network: http://www.cohtitan.com/
A mix of people, I'm not sure what the goal is there (either they are wanting to save the game, create a new game as a backup plan or plotting against NCSoft. Some people want all 3, some want only one of those, some want two. Kind of confusing) They love CoH but can be very...passionate about things. Its got some drama attached to it because of said "passion" but there are nice people around. -
I'm a loser to the very end.
Congrats, winners. -

Quote:Its typical endtime behavior. Start riots, acquire stuff, become overlord of the post-apocalyptic world.Wow.... What the hell has happened to the people in here? As D-Day approaches, you're all falling apart.
Stop it. Now. Behave yourselves and quit acting like spoiled little brats! We all used to get along just fine, but now it seems that we're just falling apart instead of being what we used to be.
A community.
I think this thread is the saddest thing that's happened to CoH... INCLUDING the close down...
Can you help me hurl this bench into the shop window? -
Quote:Thanks... you may have ruined our chances of a redname vs redname brawl. I hate you and think you are smelly. You are Smelly Claus. There's not enough face palm gifs on the Internet for this thread.
NCSoft stock has dropped over 25% since the third quarter results came out last week with the volume of stock being traded over 10x normal the first day.
When Aion had it's first full quarter of sales revenue 1Q 2009, it earned more than either Lineage or Lineage II while those games maintained their previous quarters revenues. Year over year 1Q sales went up 50%. YoY 1Q profit went up over 300%. At the beginning of 2009, their stock was only at 55,000 a share. Due to all the positive buzz, by the time the 1Q 2009 report came out, the stock already tripled in price to 179,000 in only five months.
Blade & Soul's first quarter numbers painted a completely different picture. In it's first full quarter, the sum of sales revenue of Blade & Soul, Aion, Lineage and Lineage II in this quarter is within 1/2 of a percent of Aion, Lineage and Lineage II's sales revenue the previous quarter. It didn't add any new sales revenue but appear to swipe/shift it from the other three. Not good for a new "home market game".
Guild Wars 2 had higher sales revenue in it's first month than the whole quarter sales of any of the above four games. GW2 isn't necessarily a "home market game". The original Guild Wars did alright when it was pushing out paid expansions but once that stopped it's sales revenues fell dramatically. So I'm betting the analysts are looking at GW2 for only a few years of good sales instead of it being a long term source of revenue.
So institutions and other investors still holding onto NCSoft stock during the decline leading up to the release of the 3Q numbers, hoping they would be great with both new games adding revenue saw that didn't happen so they dumped it after riding it down from it's high in October of 2011 of 380,500. The stock closed Friday at 156,000.
As for the closure date, it was likely chosen solely to give a month to decommission/reassign the servers and for the accountants to dot the i's and cross the t's so CoH and Paragon Studio numbers don't run into 2013.
Now come here and hug me so we can get them to fight. -
Quote:Is it a good idea to discuss snack cakes?Generally, if you have to ask, "is this a good idea?" It's probably not a good idea.
Let's do the right thing here and eat dead horses, versus beating them.
The number of people who changed their minds due to a discussion on the Internet is zero.
I have entertained the idea of buying up all the twinkies I can so that in the event of some sort of Mad Max scenario, I can have the upper hand.
