Is there even another MMORPG with a mission architect function?

I can't think of one, and that points to just how unique this game is/was.

STO has "The Foundry" which is fairly similar as I recall.

"Striving for the impossible" doesn't mean "toiling in vain". It means growth. It means improvement in the direction of your ideals. Not futility.

Ryzom had it prior as well (Ryzom Ring).

I think Everquest 2 just last expansion opened up a dungeon creator. Not exactly the same and I haven't tested it's functionality, but it's similar.

Neverwinter will have the Foundry and apparently some of the tech it is working on will be transferred to STO. It is not even in Closed Beta yet. If you have a lifetime subscription in Star Trek Online or Champions Online, then you have access to closed beta for Neverwinter.

Apparently the Neverwinter Foundry will allow customization of interior spaces so the hope for STO players is that it will allow the customization of starship interiors.

Have no idea why Champions Online doesn't have a Foundry since it is owned by the same company that owns Star Trek Online. If Champions Online gets a Foundry, then it will be the game closest to the Architect system.

The first step in being sane is to admit that you are insane.

IIRC, Cryptic's devs have said CO runs on an earlier version of their engine that isn't quite compatible with the Foundry. I have heard users say that CO is slated to get the Foundry after Neverwinter launches but I've never heard that said by anyone from Cryptic.
