One time Redistribution of global character slots..

sure and at the time that was fine a good number of these slots where locked when most servers hit yellow if not red on daily basis, but as I have explained at least 3 times in this thread I changed servers to play with friends

and another thing I will point out is things change, yes they are locked to w/e sever they are on I am asking for a way to unlock them as stated in the post you quoted and the post I made before that, and before that and before that

The freebie would be a one time thing and we have already discussed why that might not be so hot and I have already said I'd be willing to cough up some pp to be able to reallocate my global slots and that I am just shooting for a freebie cause I might as well.

and as I already stated and you failed to address I am willing to toss 800pp points (maybe a bit more) at reallocation, I am not willing (nor able) to drop $40 for the amount of PP I would need to buy new slots.

Not when they give me a transfer token each month (worth 800pp), so really allowing us to move our unused global slots for a nominal fee each time isn't asking much unless there is some technical reason it can;t be done coding wise.

Oh please. If their concern was squeezing more money out of us they'd have implemented any number of we've been telling the devs we'd pay to have added to the game yet they still refuse.

Offline SG invites, Prestige Power Slide, Power Set/AT respecs to name a few.

Or they'd pull the nickel and diming stunts other hybrid MMO's are pulling.

Selling lockboxes that can't be opened unless you buy an additional key to open it.

Adding missions that can't be completed unless you buy a specific piece of gear from the store.

Taking previously purchased account wide unlocks and changing them to character specific unlocks.

Merging servers and forcing players to pay to transfer their characters off if they want to keep them.

I am a VIP and can't redistribute my mine, and I don't want to go down to premium to make that happen, same as i don't want to rely on some trick that worked in the past as it may not work now or there may have been some other reason for it, I am looking for repeatable way for it to be done like an in store thing that can be bought

just to be clear we are talking about global character slots not moving the characters but the empty slot. it sounds like you are talking about moving the character from empty slot to empty slot which I can do at will or moving servers which means you had a server transfer and I have heard it doesn't really work to give you back your global slots it was discussed earlier, so while it worked for you it may not work for me in which case i have done something I don't want to in order to try and accomplish a goal only for it to not be accomplished see out of I believe at least 3 people who thought of that idea you are the only one who claims to have gotten back their empty global slots so I am not gambling on a one in three chance it might work. So, unless more people tell me that going premium then back to VIP works amd/or you care to repeat the experiment to be sure that it was going premium that caused you to get your global slots back and NOT that it had to do with something else like the launch of freedom or some other event its not a repeated result and there for unreliable.

I... think you're confused between server and global slots.

I've bounced back and forth a little bit with both accounts. Server slots have never "unassigned" themselves (intentionally) to a server. They've become available again, yes - on that same server. So you can leave characters locked, unlock specific other characters, etc. Then go premium, have them locked, and relock/reunlock other characters.

However, the global slots are *always* global slots until assigned to a server. They don't get unassigned, barring a bug I've not heard of and wouldn't rely on, by going premium.

Yes, you can reassign server slots to any *character.* You can't move them to another *server.*



As far as the OP, I wouldn't be surprised if technical issues made this difficult to do, given they've been doing things to the character database they didn't dream about when first working on the game. Not really for or against - I could see a fee for it, and mybe "not dropping below default slots" or something (and obviously not *moving* defaults - VIPs would always have a minimum of 12 on every server) - but I'm not really for or against it.

yea my intention is just to get back slots i have bought to put where I like I would NEVER expect that I could take more then that thus leaving the original 12 slots (when you are VIP) standing on each server.
