Battle Axe/Fire Tanker critique

Hello all,

I just got finished slotting my newest tanker and I love the theme I got going BUT it's performing rather weakly. The damage is very good as far as tanker damage goes but I don't know if it's just me and that the build has to be complete (included the catalyst for the ATO set I have) or I'm overlooking something. I'm dying pretty fast (as far as tanker's go) and I'm wondering if you guys see something that I don't. Help a sista out please!!!

I notice three of your slots aren't applied in this build - not sure if that was an oversight, but I've got ahead and used them as I'm looking things over. You're very close to S/L softcap here and can easily get there with a little tweaking. Feeback in no particular order:

1) Enhancement Boosters - do you have access to them? You could squeeze a bit more out of the Defense powers that way.

2) Weave underslotted. This is the best of the Defense-granting pool powers, you want to slot it accordingly. I was able to get you within half a percentage point of S/L softcap just by adding slots to Weave.

3) Aside from the Kinetic Combats, much of your attack slotting doesn't seem to be contributing to the goal of building Defense. If the goal here is survivability first, you may want to consider sets which help you by adding more typed Defense. Eradication sets for Energy/Negative Defense, for instance.

Without changing your slotting too much I tweaked it a little to get some better numbers for you. The spare slots were put into your attacks.

There is some stuff i would of taken earlier IE fiery embrace and healing flames, not to mention lot of end content has a KB of 10 in it especially the ITrials. Temp prot is not really needed on a FA tank since u can get fire res maxed out with out it, as for slow a winters gift can cover that with ease.
The Might of the tanker might work better in BA and I would of taken that later on in the build, HF would of taken sooner. I redid the build to get your def up and moved some of your powers around for more survivability.

I tweaked this a bit: Your attacks are now much better slotted and you have hasten. Your defense and resists are effectively unchanged, but your damage will go up 10-20 percent.

EDIT: I should clarify: Your damage per attack will go up 10-20 percent, but you have so much more recharge, you're attacking about twice as fast as you were before. Your overall damage output should more than double. Yes, consume will be your friend. You might want to look at dropping gash to find a lace for conserve power.

I tweeked the build with some suggestions and reviewed the numbers. I thought I was happy but it just seems like having no debuff resis is going to be huge prob. I was up against BP's in DA and they ate right thru my defense and my resistance didn't really act as a buffer at all. I'm wondering if I need to somehow/someway bring my positional up e/n/c. It might have been situational because against melee based toons, I did pretty ok. I'm still not getting that tankie feel (ya know, the feeling you CAN'T die) and I'm confused about it. This is my first fire based defense toon and I wanna love, not like it. Check out what I've done and let me know if you see anything needed. When building I pay attention to acc/end/def/res/health and debuff resis if I can get some from somewhere.

On a fire toon, you want recharge.

For example, the defense and resist numbers of the last build you posted, and the one I put up, are comparable. (Once I24 hits, they'll be quite a lot better, and near identical.)


The difference is how fast your self-buffs and attacks come up.

For example:

On my build, you get a 45 percent self-heal every 11.4 seconds, that is also slotted to boost your toxic resists.

On your build, you get a 45 percent self-heal every 20.1 seconds, that's not slotted for toxic resist.

Your healing flames, being faster, heals you for roughly twice as much.

Your consume, on my build, recharges every 57 seconds. On yours, it takes 118 seconds, or roughly a third longer. Recharge gives you 30 percent more endurance to work with.

Cleave, on your build, recharges every 10.2 seconds and hits for 294 base. On my build, cleave recharges every 4.3 seconds and hits for 334 base. (You will NEED consume coming back fast! )

All battle axe attacks have knockdown. The more you hit with them, the more 'tanky' you will feel, and actually BE, as the bad guys can't attack you.

On a fire toon, recharge is essential for the best functioning of the toon.

Your build is pretty much the same as your first with those 3 slots added. Like I said you really do not need temp prot and tuff should have 1 more slot to get the best out of it. Your KB prot is little low for lot of the end game content. You really do not need the leadership pool to get to SC maneuvers cost more end then the benefits. I would wait on getting BA till little later when u can handle being attacked at a later lvl, HF would of tooken it as soon as u can. 3 steadfast is a little wast with the Kinetic combat which is over the rule of 5 there for the HP. The oblits on mauk build is more for positional def not typed def and also an end hog. The way the game calculates the def is it will take the higher def IE if you get attacked by something that is S/L dam and melee damage it will take the higher value so if your s/l is 45 and melee is 39 it will take the s/l so trying to get the positional up there is a wast to do.
