Okay, just got back myself.
The storyline has been much condensed, as have several sets of characters.
There's also been changes to the action style to accommodate Len Wiseman's motion picture combat style (including a more humanized "drop and walk" for the most obvious person).
That and because it's more of a stretch to believe that Colin Farrel can toss grown men around like teddy bears the way a Schwarzenegger character could. Less raw brute force and more "dirty" fighting.
They had a few of the callbacks to the original film ( 1..2..

Additionally, during the Rekall shootout, I noticed the "generic cop dispatcher squawk" (think "Get CoH Radio Missions").

It would have been a completely different experience altogether if they would've went all cerebral with it (not necessarily better or worse).
