See the Dark Knight Rises? Whadya think?
I was pretty pleased. It didn't quite top Dark Knight but it was still a good movie with a few good twists and turns, and Hathaway in that leather cat suit yow. Just need Scarlett Johansson getting in a cat fight with her. 8D

I really liked it. The story fit very well into the world it was set in. Due to the toll on his body I'm glad Bruce made the final call he did even if comic batman probably wouldnt be able to do it. Would be cool to know what route Blake goes according to what code name he picks up from three obvious choices.
I will say that I did not see the twist coming. Which I'm pretty stunned by. I havent been tricked by a movie since I was a kid. I figured certain characters were retconned out and I was ok with that since it made the story better for the movieverse. Perhaps I was slow cause I was tired.
Overall tho, I think hathaway did an amazing job. It doesnt best Michelle Pfeiffer but it was never going to. It still came in at a very close second.
The cameos were great. Wish Heath was still with us cause you know he would have done a joker scene. Which would have been sick.

One extra 'o' makes a big difference.
I did not care for it at all. Having Bane's face covered the whole time totally drained the character of whatever charisma Tom Hardy may have been able to impart if he hadn't been handicapped.
There were long periods of the film where Bruce Wayne was healing and very little was happening. Lack of action in an action movie leaves you lots of time to think about the gaping plot holes that you could gloss over if it was better at distracting you.
So we had a villain (that I didn't believe could gather a cult around himself) which was dedicated to an irrational, self destructive end (which had already been used in Batman Begins). It played out over a month of time (which was again, irrational, and killed whatever tension and momentum the film had built to that point).
People seemed to like the twist, but I had already checked out at that point, so I guess it barely registered.

You realize how closely the antagonist of this story and the first are related and they share the same goals/ideals right?

I'm not trying to trash the movie, just expressing my personal opinion and trying to articulate why I think the way I do. I'm probably the minority here.
I have not seen the Dark Knight yet, so I'm carefully posting without reading anything to avoid spoilers.
But I think perhaps the movie might be a little like this:
Meh.
I just saw it sunday and was underwhelmed. Very dry, predictable and slowly paced. It was missing the colorful character the last movie had, which really stood out due to the fact everything else is so bland. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't horrible, it was just decent. I like how they closed it out, but getting there wasn't as fun as it could have been. The second movie was outstanding, one of my favorite movies and I'm not even a big batman fan, but the first and this one were pretty average imo.
And wtf was up with banes voice, lol. Sounded like a drunken sean connery with a sock in his mouth. When he first spoke on the plane I thought it was a joke or something. I wonder if it was done intentionally because they were pissed that people complained that they couldn't understand him in the early previews for the movie - probably not, but man did he sound ridiculous to me.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt is/was so hot. Anne Hathaway was pretty awesome also but I knew she would be already.

Meh. I enjoyed it, don't get me wrong, but it just didn't...light a fire, I suppose. While I get why, there wasn't enough Batman in a Batman movie I thought. To much time with Angsty Bruce, still angstin' years later and letting his family buisness go to pot. This is BATMAN. I can give him a year to deal with Rachels death, but it had been what, four? I can't even remember now, but WAY to long for that nonsense. Then the whole "Lets take away EVERYTHING Bruce Wayne has built up! And his Bat Arsenal!" The whole draining the Wayne Enterprise account was stupid, wedged in, and badly done. Its not like an ENTIRE market full of people didn't see what was going on, and they even HAD the computer. But nooo, "We have to make Bruce broke!" was for some reason an important plot point. You could have left that scene out ENTIRELY and it would have changed very little of the rest of the movie. The little 'romance' they wedged in was terribly done and out of nowhere ((Wait, Bruce? Didn't you just spend years upon years pining, and now you are just going to go out and jump some one else? ...o..kay...)) Banes plan was not only bad, but rehashed ((Yes I know why. No that doesn't make it any less stupid to go down in an explosive blaze of glory.)) AND with even less point since so much of Gotham had been cleaned up. And come ON. This is BATMAN. BATMAN. Batman does not simply ABANDON Gotham. And yet we get to see him having done so and do so AGAIN in the same movie.
Whoa. I guess I had more complaints then I thought. I still enjoyed it overall, and I really liked Robin and how he was introduced, but it had some flaws that stopped it from being great to me. Your mileage may vary, of course.
"I have something to say! It's better to burn out then to fade away!"
I was underwhelmed
Thumbs up from me. The performances I was worried about (Hathaway as Catwoman, and Hardy as Bane) were pulled off satisfactorily. I think the changes that were made to Bane's character make him more interesting.
It clocks in at just under 3 hrs with trailers, so be warned. Nothing to wait for in the end credits.
Edit: HERE BE SPOILERS. BE YE WARNED!!
