DC ripping off Going Rogue?

Sounds a little like it.

Some background:

The guys behind Mortal Kombat are working on a new fighting game with DC comics characters titled "Injustice: Gods Among US".

All they've really said was that the storyline was going to be a bit darker take on things.

As a teaser, they released this clip at Comic Con:

Sounds a lot like George Newbern, who voiced Superman on JLU, giving a very Emperor Cole-like speech on the new world order.

Of course, our devs admitted to borrowing from JLA: Earth 2 and the "A Better World" episodes of Justice League with the Justice Lords, so it's all good.

I doubt City of Heroes is even on their radar. It's not exactly an original story, anyway.

Superman 2012. No matter what his moral alignment, he would be better than 99.99999% of the politicians out there.

The first step in being sane is to admit that you are insane.

That was underwhelming.

Something witty and profound

Yeah, I mean generic flag with clear Godwin's law undertones...
At least Cole had something more original with a gold star in laurels.

Edit: I should not that I do not see this as "ripping off" given how generic the storyline is for comicbooks, but it is sad that one of the originators cannot feign originality with the concept.

Preatoria had it's writing issues, but it showed a lot of aesthetic differences from the usual "bad hero" AU world. The main colors are white and gold than red and black or something equally ominous, Cole and his praetors NEVER wear anything Nazi inspired (though David did mention Joseph Mengle had some inspiration in Malaise' design), and among the aspects focused in the Praetoria you actual go through is not just where Cole goes wrong but where he actually did go right.
