Need help with Ice tank build

I recently got to my ice/ice tank up to lvl 50. I love the play style so much I've decided I want to actually slot her out correctly. I'm not one for fancy slotting mainly because I don't get on coh to make game money, so thus, I only have whatever I have gained through trials and task forces. I am willing to put in the work with this toon so whatever price it is....I can reach it..in a few years. lol

Couple of key things I'm looking for our of course, max defense (which seems to already be there with the extra boost from agility aplha) but also +regen. Since I have hoarfrost I think i'll only need a couple of accolades to get hit the hp max. Everything else with her is a bonus...as long as I get max defense and regen I'm good.(endurance could use some help too. even with energy absorb) I also like to have aid self as well. I'm flexible with all other powers, including epics. (yes, I got artic, but whatever is cool)

As for incarnate stuff:
(aplha)Agility
(destiny)rebirth for more regen
(hybrid)melee for more regen!

If you can help me by maybe pointing out a couple of key things to slot my character with to achieve my goals, I would be forever grateful.

What is the regen cap for tanks btw? Oh well. Probably takes a while to reach anyways.

Can we get your current build? It'll help us to tweak a build that's already "somewhat" familiar to you. Rather than just smacking down a build, that might require changes in your play style, and going "Here! Go forth and DO MIGHTY TANKAGE!!!"

Clicking on the linked image above will take you off the City of Heroes site. However, the guides will be linked back here.

If you don't plan on soloing, Then consider skipping Icicles. It does 8 damage per tick. A lot of people like Damage auras and usually I do too! But on an ice tanker, where you already have Chilling Embrace as a taunt aura, icicles is redundant and the damage is very low... and lethal.

For your EPP go Soul. I'm sure there is a good reason to go something else, but I cannot fathom tanking without Darkest Night on any tanker. I'm sure others get along fine but highly consider improving your tankiness with darkest night so you can do your main job even better.

Whining about everything since 2006.

Ammo switching for Dual Pistols was my idea:

Disagree. Ice Tankers are great at holding aggro because of the two aggro auras. And, since damage factors into Threat, doing damage on top of Taunt multiplies the Taunt. Yes, it is minor damage unslotted, but over time it will add up to a significant portion of your damage, especially if you are surrounded by enemies, which you should be. Both auras can only hit up to 10 enemies, so if you have 17 around you, having both auras on can mean that you rarely need to use Taunt.

Damage Auras also have fairly good DPE for an AoE effect. If you're constantly surrounded by mobs, which as a tank you should be, you'll find that your Damage Aura will be around the second highest damaging attack you've got. Those small, consistently running, ticks add up.

Great... another tank heading to the Rogue Isles for an eight day vacation.

(Chandeliere, my Ice/Staff tanker faerie, is doing awesome so far at just lvl 26. Power Si... er, Energy Absorption, really changes the game for me)

I disagree with this as well. I too have an ice/ice tanker at 42 the two auras are great, plus I slot the tanker ATO proc in it for stackable +resistance. I've seen this proc stack about 5 times in a single mob which really helped reduce the damage recvd from the AV I was tanking as well (when any damage got through). Damage is damage also BU + icicles is delicious. I only use taunt to pull a random mob off a blaster or someone that is not with the group.

Once I hit 50 I will redo his build too and probably proc out Icicles where I can for that much damage potential. Also my chilling embrace is slotted with the slow damage proc.

Here's one way to build. 3 heals seems like overkill but w/e. Permafrost is skippable if you're wanting Taunt or Hibernoob. You'd ahve to slap the Steadfast in Hoarfrost.

I disagree on this as well as when u can do the extra damage why skip it. Also for darkest night i can give you a good reason, I have it on a brute atm, and it drains end fast granted it is a nice debuff but after awhile if you was fighting an AV you will find your self having to eat blues alot.

Ok a couple of questions for this build 1 why did u take BoLZ with the KB proc when u already have a kb prot of 10?, why did u take aid self when you already have a self heal in Hoarfrost? also why so low on fire/ice def? and last question why oblits when first they do not provide enough end reduction, and it is better for a positional def instead of typed def.

I used to agree and then I fired up Hero Stats and found that Icicles was doing more damage than any other power. Yeah each tick of damage is small but they add up.

I would also strongly recommend keeping Icicles. Most tankers get more damage output over time from their damage auras than anything else they do, and my Ice tank was certainly no exception to this. As previously mentioned, Ice's much vaunted status as King of Aggro is largely due to the Chilling Embrace/Icicles combo. Chilling Embrace does most of the heavy lifting there, true, but Icicles is not to be dismissed lightly.

Keep Icicles, stick the fury of the glad -20% Res Debuff in it if you can afford it, stick the tanker ATO proc in it too, and then stick the summer blockbuster 20% chance for KD in it too.

Then, it's a hilarious OP taunt aura.
