Anyone having any issues with "invisible" death patches?

Okay, for a couple weeks now (basically since the drop of i23), I've been noticing that, at times, I'm not getting visual effects for various crap patches in iTrials. Not entirely sure if it's because the rest of the trial is overloading my GTX 560Ti graphically (unlikely) or if something is wrong.

In addition to bugging, I'm posting here and asking if anyone else has noticed this.

Note: This is not a case of "Scrapperlock...Oh! Death patch! I'm dead!" lack of situational awareness.

This is being killed by the death patches in MoM where there's no purple crud on the floor. This is being killed by charging back in after Tyrant finishes his lightning strike, with no ground effects whatsoever and taking damage from the lightning patches. Basically with no VFX around me other than ones I'm generating and I have red numbers start floating off of me out of noplace.

The first couple times it happened I got annoyed. Now I'm getting REALLY annoyed with it. So any corroboration or assistance in this would be fantastic.

It's possible. But, as I've said, I've done things like wait for patches to dissipate, run back in and all of the sudden "Oops. DEAD!"

I've seen reports by others of similar behavior.

One even had a screenshot.

Since that is a Visual FX thing it might be Honey Badger's area.

Yes, I had this problem on the Apex trial consistently - hence I won't run it. I also use an NVIDIA Geoforce, but mine is the GT 240. The only warning of those death patches if you have this problem is a very subtle sound. If there's ongoing combat you won't hear it. All the other itrials I usually can see something. My brother and husband have the same video card and report the same issue.
