Arachnos Soilder Careers

I was thinking of the two possible choices for the Arachnos Soilder. As I was thinking of it I thought about all the arachnos enemies and those arachnos guys that are called Mu striker or adept something. Those guys that float and shoot electricity any ways. What I'm saying is could the Devs make a Mu striker career choice. But it might unbalance it between the soilders and the widows.

Just an idea, let me know what you guys think.

Elec Blast. Color it red. Bam.

Mu don't fit.

The point of an epic AT is their storyline (thus the epic.) Banes and Crab Spiders are the everyday person (natural) in Arachnos irked at the whole "Destined one" thing deciding to hijack it and make it their own.

The Mu? They're not. They're descendants of specific bloodlines with a Magic origin basically forced into a cult, wrapped up and forced to worship their goddess. (References in one of the Mu storylines to "you rescued them, then we gave them a choice to join us or die. Most joined." ) Totally different setup, different origin (Magic) and it'd make zero sense after the 1-24 path you're forced on.

Plus, as Xzero said... Electric blast. Corruptor or Dom, Sirocco patron. There's nothing special about their powers, just their look - red bondage fetishists. (And remember, people complain about the Crab backpack... ) It's mentioned that after years of service and rising high enough in rank, Mu are finally allowed to *show their face.* Not dress how they want, or run around freely and use their arms and legs, just *show their face.*

We need a Mu body-type, then. One that uses Mu animations and floats everywhere. We do lack that, annoyingly...

And, wait, Bane Spiders, Recluses's personal, mind-linked bodyguard, are 'everyday'?

Some variant hover/fly poses would be neato.

I thought the "Bane Hive Mind" was considered a general failure? I don't remember where, but IIRC, too many Banes were escaping from the Hive Mind, and something about a second, non-loyal Hive Mind beginning to form?

Either way, I got the impression that most of the Banes out there now are no more part of a Mind-lined hord than the other types of Arachnos groups are.

Of course, I could just be completely off-base here...

Canonical Bane Spiders are really no better/different than Praetorian Seers. They're a giant psychic network of enforced obedience, effectively lacking in free thought. In that regard, they're more like machines than men.

Of course, that said, all of the VEAT paths tend to start falling apart in terms of story, under the slightest pressure. A VEAT can go full-hero before 24...and still end up with a Crab Spider backpack, for example. And canonically, all Banes are male, and all Fortunatas are female, no exceptions, because the selection is made based on gender in the first place. And for that matter...well, yeah, the point is, I could go on, but I think the point is made.

It's best to think of the VEATS as (initially) fresh recruits who just have the same training. By the time they're a high enough level to pick a "career", they're not really soldiers of Arachnos anymore anyway, they're full-fledged Destined Ones.
