Patron Arc Question

Okay, so I'm planning on going Vigilante, then Villan, then doing a Patron Arc to get the PPPs, then heading back to blueside. My question is this. If I go full-circle and back to vigilante after regaining Hero, can I play through the other Patron Arcs as a vigilante just for the fun of it? Or do I need to enjoy them while still Redside?

you can only get and run any villain arc as a villain or a rogue

the same can be said for hero arcs only being doable as a hero or vigilante

and to answer the rest of your question you can only run ONE patron arc per toon

You can only choose one patron per character, but each patron has multiple story arcs.

However, Necrotech_Master is correct that you cannot run patron arcs (or any other mission from a villain contact) as a vigilante. If you want to play your patron's other arcs, do so before going back to blueside.

I notice that you have a white name, indicating that you are either a Free or Premium player.

In order to switch sides, you must have access to the Alignment System. By default, Free and Premium players do NOT have access to it. In order to get access, you need to do one of the following:

-Subscribe. As a VIP, you will get temporary access to the Alignment System. If you cancel your billing, you will lose access to the Alignment System once your paid time ends. Any characters that switched alignments will retain their current one (even if it's Rogue or Vigilante), but will not be able to change again until you re-access the Alignment System. Several other features are unlocked on a temporary basis when you subscribe.
-Buy Going Rogue. Going Rogue includes a permanent unlock of several systems, including the Alignment System. Paragon Studios no longer produces Going Rogue, so if you don't already have it, you'll have to find a copy at a retail store. On the plus side, if you can find a copy, it will often cost less than a one-month subscription, and contains goodies worth much more.
-Buy the Alignment System from the Paragon Market. I can't remember the cost, but I think it's either 800 or 1200 points ($10 or $15). It seems to go on sale every few months, so if you're not in a rush, it's worth waiting for it.

If you don't want to unlock the Alignment System (or if you have, but don't want to spend the time switching sides), you can buy Alignment Tokens. 800 points ($10) will instantly switch your Hero or Vigilante character to Villain, or switch your Villain or Rogue character to Hero. You can't use Alignment tokens to become the "grey" alignments (Vigilante or Rogue), and they're one-use each, so the Alignment System is cheaper than Tokens.

Of course, if you've already got the Alignment System (or you ARE VIP, and the forums are just displaying wrong... again), then you can ignore all of the above.

On a related topic, I have just swapped my hero to villain in order to unlock the patron pools and I am now in the process of swapping back to hero (In order to settle at vigilante).

I have got as far as (But not accepted) the last mission because I am only level 45, my plan is to get to level 50, accept the mission and then swap sides so that I can keep trying to solo it but from the sounds of the answers I will lose the mission as soon as I become a hero?

I could stay as a rogue but really want the hero ozone portal.

That is correct. As soon as you change sides, all non-coop missions on abandoned, as if you had selected that option from the mission menu.

In addition to what StarGeek said, that story arc will remain an open story arc, reducing the total number of story arcs that you can have open, potentially preventing you from getting access to additional story arcs (depending on how many you have open). Yes, it will still count, even if you switch sides and can no longer get back to the contact to complete it.

When switching sides, it is a good idea to make sure that no contacts have the open book icon beside them BEFORE switching.

Sucks

I will have to stay Rogue until I finish the arc.

Thank you for the replies though.
