Trek 2: Cumberbatch's "Joker-level" performance

Those of us who are fans of the otterly brilliant Benedict Cumberbatch would indeed "enjoy him reading the phonebook" and adding suitable degrees of snark, menace and vicissitude.

But given a properly written bad guy...

We know (thanks to @SimonPegg) that it's not Khan, unless Simon is mischievously messing with our brains. The makeup seen on the story gives him a slightly... well slightly more aquiline, dare I say it, Vulcan appearance.

But who?

Is it time for the dance of joy yet?

You're not suggesting he's the guy from Star Trek 5, are you? Because that would be terrible.

star trek 5 was an awsome movie. lol
just kidding. ST5 was a very weak movie imo. i did enjoy the comedy that was in it.
but overall it was a very weak movie
imo shatner did a better job with his tekwar series and movies than he did with ST5

While I'm sure that nerdy writers everywhere have a list of things they'd like to do in the JJverse, I don't think that remaking the most despised movie in the Trek franchise appears on any of those lists.

If anything, it's a lot easier to just ignore that movie in the new continuity. Spock's brother could easily be written off as having died with Vulcan.

Goodbye, I guess.
