The lazy person in me is really appreciative that someone else did the work, and the curious person in me is glad to know the answer. And I'm always happiest when those two parts of me aren't at odds with each other.

Simply using the "Do not earn XP" setting does not alter Inf earning in any way.

Tested on a Level 50 character exemplared to 39, using an even-con Rikti Guardian each time:
SG Mode on, Earn XP: 2,835 Inf, 17 Prestige.
SG Mode on, No XP, Double Inf: 2,835 Inf, 17 Prestige.
SG Mode off, Earn XP: 5,669 Inf.
SG Mode off, No XP, Double Inf: 5,669 Inf.
Looks like whatever used to be odd with exemplared 50s has been fixed.
