Big problem is, you only have at max 2hrs and 30min to do the film. That big of cast, how would you know who everyone is, or get a feel of who they are? People on the street may know of DC Comics and their characters, but can you introduce every single character so man on the street has an idea of who they are?
See the reason why Avengers worked, was because all they had to do was introduce the threat and then they could run at full speed til the end, since the characters were already introduced in the previous movies.
I don't think DC is going to be able to pull it off.
Honestly I think it was a race to see who could produce a good superteam movie first.
Marvel came out swinging in the mix of making moves, taking chances, and most importantly, learning from their mistakes, which should never be taken lightly.
DC on the other hand just kinda sat there at the starting line waiting for Marvel to flop.
Which didn't happen.
Marvel's efforts were risky but in the end they paid off big time. They won the race.
DC could come in second with "something" but knowing their track record... "DC" will happen to it and it will be a watered down obvious echo of what Marvel already did. It will be the "By the way, here's DC's version yay?"
Ignoring anyone is a mistake. You might miss something viral to your cause.
