Control Hybrid?

I was just wondering if anyone is getting the Control Hybrid for the 40% Status Resist and the 75% chance for Psionic damage? My PB has great resist, self buffs and with IO's he has KB protection, but with Status Resist and a chance for damage might be what he needs to round him out in human form. Has anyone else thought of doing this or is it just me?

It just seems what my characters needs to make him well rounded. I would like that I will not have to carry break free's. I am guessing 40% status protection is enough to protect from most mez power, or is it? I am planning on getting Core Embodiment, but I will not get any use from the +1 to mez powers just the +psi and status resist.

edit: Crap.. I just remembered that their is a difference between resist and protection.

Now I am leaning toward assault as well. You can never go wrong with more damage.

If you want a hybrid that protects you from mezz, you want melee. That said, if you have clarion, you already have mezz protection--and whats more, it's perma. So assault or support is probably your best bet.

You are right. I think Melee Core is what I was looking for. My PB was my first toon I incarnated and I went Ageless core for the recovery and recharge. I PvP on my PB sometimes and I run 8 toggles, so this helps with my end issue and with the end crash of Light Form (even though it isnt a big crash).

My PvP toggles
Super Speed
Super Jump
Tactics
Acrobatics
Quantum Shield
Thermal Shield
Shining Shield
Tough

Plus...correct me if i'm wrong but...isn't status resistance different than status protection? IIUC...resistance reduces the amount of time that a mez lasts when you get hit with it. I.E. if you have 40% resistance and you get hit with a mez that normally lasts for something like 10 seconds, then it'd only put you under for something like 6 seconds...reduced by 40%. Mez protection stops the mez outright...up to whatever the protection mag is.

...Yes?

Yes, though Soto corrected himself on that in his second post.

I wouldn't say control is useless, since the -mag protection on Light Form (which I run perma) is relatively low, so several attacks together can add up. However, insta-dwarf in I23 means insta-mez break, so it's less terrible to take a mez if you have a capable dwarf form you can pop into while it wears off. Still, Control hybrid would mean the mez effects drop off more slowly.

On the other hand, you could simply do Assault and take Clarion, and between Clarion and Light Form it's quite tough to get mezzed.
