NPC Taunt problem
For what it's worth, I ran the incarnate PPD mission from max and had two or three Dwarf form Bosses spamming their taunts, which got kinda annoying eventually. I thought something was different now.

Black Scorpion definitely has it, was on triple-pull where the tank was unable to attack anyone but him.
If you're targeting someone other than the one who taunted you, the game puts a red reticle around the one you need to target. I'm not sure what happens when you're hit with multiple taunt effects at once. I'd assume that longest duration wins just like players taunting mobs, but haven't seen it in action. |
If you're right, THANK YOU for noticing that and passing it along, it was driving me spare. I'll keep an eye out for it the next time. When you say places a reticle around, do you mean that the corner-box shows up period for the duration of the taunt, or does it only show up if you mouse over them? The latter would be more annoying, since I don't do a lot of mouse targeting (too many targets the same height, too hard to target the ones in back that way) but at least it's something.

How odd. When I've been taunted, it changed my target to the taunter automatically when I tried to attack. I didn't have to tab around or look for a red box at all.
Will it be a battle of the taunts I wonder if I out taunt them will they be unable to attack anyone but me cause I can tank'em all day, SO my partner can debuff /blast and nuke them into Infinity and beyond

I think it's nice that the enemies can finally do something to us that previously only we could do to them. I look forward to seeing if they could do anything with Teleport Foe, since we already have anti-TP inspirational protection. New challenges are always welcome, especially if it throws a monkey wrench into the standard Target-Attack until defeated-Target next enemy loop.
Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.
It seems like a simple fix. Just make it so the taunt effects of the enemy have a much longer recharge than they do now. That way, after a second of confusion, you settle on only one enemy.

Take a Stalker with Challenge so you can both taunt and placate the same enemy.

NPCs taunting is kind of like NPCs using Fear powers - you can't jut give them a direct port of the player power without adapting it in some way. Being unable to target other enemies would be a good idea, as a way to know what's taunting you, and instituting some way to ensure your target doesn't get swapped too often might be good, as well.
At the very least, I'd like to see one application of taunt cause the player to rebuff any further ones until that one runs out.
