Energy Aura!

So....came back after a huge break and i'm wondering if EA still have it's combat stealth? Does it still let you beat some people in a mob without the others seeing you? (not always but it used to work maybe 50% of the time)

Also, what powers are usually skipped? Any that are plain horrible or not worth it in some build?

Well, I don't have a x/EA scrapper but I have my x/EA brute which is soooo much fun to play now with the changes.

To answer your first question you can still sneak up on mobs but once your stealth is broken your aura will keep them looking at you with its -recharge/+recharge effects.

As for skippable powers, well all of them are so lovely I do not know why you would skip them. However, if you must choose Energy Protection is one but still not really as its a source of slow and toxic protection and a great spot for a Steadfast proc.

Really all the powers in it are beast now, especially since we have that sexy energize heal. Not to mention that between that and energy drain you should little to no endo problems or bouncing blue bars.

Got a fair build for a TW/EA scrapper if you ever want one

I didn't know about the new -rech aura. Hopefully, i won't have too much problems if i'm with other teamates, since scrapper won't have the taunt part.
Nice to know everything is good in it now!
I won't be TW, but i'm interested in your build. See what kind of slotting you do in EA and what kind of bonus you aim for.

Energy Aura does have a taunt aura. One of the few sets that do.

I checked and yeah, seems they changed energy aura for brute and scrapper.
A taunt aura and they removed the combat-stealth.
Not sure i'll make /EA, that was definitively the unique selling point of the set for me. =/

Energy aura looks way cool. I'm wondering how well it holds up in incarnate action, with all that psi getting thrown around. What do you to make it hold up?

I should note here that I'm looking for or at least hoping for an intermediate answer. Not "IOs lol", nor full Mids builds, but something like "3 sets of Psi Be Gone, and two solitary Blankominds in mule slots somewhere", if it's feasible to do so. Thanks!

Do note that the taunt area is suppressed while cloaked. So unless an enemy with high perception sees you or you begin attacking you will still be stealthed.

Don't think that's WAI. I can stand next to any old enemy with my taunt aura and stealth on, and they'll attack me without me having to do anything. It's not suppressing.

Hmm, guess my burtes too smashy to care but IIRC it is supposed to suppress. May want to report that one as a bug or ask a local GM on that.

I'm not sure if it's the taunt that's not supressing or the -rech that's not...or both.

Case in point. I can be level 30+ and stand in a lvl 1 group in Atlas and mobs will get those pretty little "you've been recharge debuffed" rings and aggro.

Pretty sure, either way...this is borked.

Beyond that, last i remember, the stealth component of EC does NOT suppress when in combat, only the visual aspect of it does (you're not see through). I could be wrong. I just seem to remember this being brought up some time ago when EA got it's little revamp.

It isn't full stealth iirc, so unless you have another source of stealth they are still going to see you if you get too close.

I really enjoy my kin/energy brute in incarnate trials. Without showing you my mids build there are too many to list. My s/l is above soft cap and near the incarnate cap with energy drain. my recharge is high to keep it stacked. my endurance is very high to keep it all non stop stop.

YMMV---IMO

With that kind of intro, I'm curious about your Mids, if you don't mind doing the text dump. (Mac user here who keeps forgetting to set up an emulator.)

/Energy is easy to softcap, and easy enough to i-cap as well for most builds (To all but Neg and Psi irrc).

Well, yeah. What I'm specifically asking about is dealing with the psi damage that incarnate trials fling around so much.

Sorry I must have misread your last post.

No problem. I have this habit of asking questions that aren't quite the usual ones.

Well, I haven't taken a /EA through trials yet, but I have found that psi damage is pretty much a non-issue with /Inv, which is about as defenseless against Psi. Inspirations, Destiny, and the occasional knockdown is plenty.

Psi ended up not being as universal a threat in incarnate content as it was looking like a couple issues ago since lambda and to a small extent underground are the only places where you'll fight augurs. I still disproportionately value having either psi defense or fear protection simply because I like soloing the crates and having to carry a breakfree on an otherwise-impervious scrapper feels a little silly. Maybe I should just get over it.

Thanks, both of you. That's reassuring and liberating.
