Nothing else plays like ill/storm

I have rolled not one but two ill/storm controllers to level 50. With my altitus, this is really saying something. I've tried every powerset and so many combinations and I have yet to find something I enjoy playing as much as an ill/storm controller. (Sorry if this gets a bit ranty, my blood sugar's really low right now). I'm trying to say 3 things with this post:

1: Isn't it just beautiful when you find a pair of powersets that fit you just perfectly? and you're happy playing forever? what's your favorite?

2: It's really a shame how all sets are starting to look the same, especially control sets. What I love about illusion is it's so different from all the others. I think we need more variety in our powersets.

3: Do any of you know another combination that has a similar play style to ill/storm? if so i'd love to try it.

I am very partial to my Bots/Storm

I don't know anything that plays like Ill/Storm.

I have had a lot of completely different experiences that I really enjoyed a lot . Oddly, one of my favorites wasn't one of the highest-power ones: soloing a "near-softcap" Dark/Trap corruptor. It was an interesting combination of things-can-go-wrong and I-have-the-tools-when-they-do . When all the enemies were in both cones, and my FF generator didn't go on strike midfight, and I didn't miss too many guys, it was an absolutely trivial fight. So I had to pay attention every fight, but when something DID go wrong I had time and space to fix it.

That's a totally different experience from my Blasters, or my Force Field Defenders, or my elec/invuln brute, or my rad/sonic defenders, or ... well, you get the idea.

I guess I'm trying to say you may not ever find anything you like as much as Ill/Storm. But the place to look may not be "things very much like Ill/Storm."

Maybe your altitis has sufficiently covered these things that you won't find anything else you love like that. *shrug*

My first toon, and current main toon, is ill/storm. And there is no toon I have enjoyed playing so much. Although, I have to admit, that I did put her away for a long time. At level 33, I was having a lot of trouble with her, and had just started a DM/SR scrapper which was so much smoother to play for a new player. That toon got to fifty, but hasn't been played in almost a year, but I am on my ill/storm still. And, I have to say, the nicest thing about having an ill/storm is that when the tank gets bossy I can just start throwing out tornadoes...
