LFG: side specific?

I had someone ask this, and I couldn't remember since LFG is used so rarely.

If someone doesn't lock the team, does LFG fill from everyone available or does it stay tied to one side? I THINK I remember doing a hero LFG (filled with longbow instead of arbiters) back when it came out, but I can't say 100% absolutely, and now nobody seems to use it at all.

It depends entirely on whether the content is Hero-only, Villain-only, or coop. It'll also only fill slots when the TF/Trial drops below the minimum number of players.

That can't be correct. I know I've run trials personally with well over the minimum number of folks to start, and people in the queue were also added. I've been added personally to Trials too, and I could see that there were more than the minimum required.

Maybe after the Trial/TF starts, or maybe TF/SF only, but for new Trials I'm 100% certain that's misinformation.

Regarding the OP's question, I don't know specifically. You might have to test it. I.e., get a rogue, have them stand in Cap and enter the LFG with "any". Kick off a DD in Dark Astoria, see if they show up. Etc. There might be some content where it depends on both eligibility and location. As a Rogue I can't be invited half the time and have to switch to a blue or neutral zone first, so it might be similar for Trials and TF/SFs.

I was talking about existing trials (hence the "drops below"). When the turnstile event is first starting, it'll fill it up with whoever is available (which can be anywhere from the minimum to the max), but, once it begins, it'll never try to fill any spots when it's at the minimum (if you pull in a team you could go over the minimum, but generally you're stuck at the minimum... it's poorly designed).

OK, well I don't think the OP was talking about existing trials, he meant new ones. AFAIK, the LFG queue will pull everyone it can, although if you have a Rogue or Vigilante in the "wrong" zone, I don't think it will include them, although I could be wrong.

I think the OP is using "LFG" to refer to DFB and/or DIB, both of which ARE side specific. The Longbow and Arbiters he's talking about are probably the mid-mission trainers.

OoooooOOoooooooooooooh.

Good catch, that never occurred to me. Yeah DfB and DiB are definitely side-specific, although I expect a Rogue could join the hero one and a Vigilante could join the villain one.

Task Forces/Strike Forces work the same way.

P.S. I've also used the LFG specifically to join a DfB from another zone, and it will fill above the minimum (at kick-off). But it definitely won't pull from the "other side" to do that.

Currently, the only real restriction left on using the LFG queue to start soemthing is that all teammates must be in the same zone. So if you are not teamed, or are simply in the same league, you can join via the LFG queue from any zone.

I wonder if starting a DFB or DiB in pocket D or RWZ would allow a mixed team.

I don't suffer from altitis, I enjoy every minute of it.

Thank you Devs & Community people for a great game.

So sad to be ending ):

It does not. Rogues and Vigilantes can join either one, but if there's pure villains on the team, you can't start a Hero DFB/DIB, and vice-versa.
