What can be done with Extra Archtype Enhancements?

You know those Villian/Hero Packs that give out the Elemental Order Costume pieces and those special enhancements?

I am thinking about buying some of them, but the problem is, I only play Brute and I am worried about getting Defender, Controller and Mastermind enhancements I can't use, is there a way to sell those in the Black Market or at Wentworths?

As long as they haven't been catalyzed, they can be sold on the market. You can also use converters to (randomly) change what type they are.

Additionally, superpacks give a lot of reward merits. If you buy the 24-pack you'll probably have enough to straight-up buy at least one ATO from the merit vendors (plus 25 million inf, limit one per 4 days). ATOs hover around 20mil, generally, so you can sell the ones you don't need for about that and then either buy the ones you do need from WW or the merit vendor.

Converters can also be purchased with reward merits (and 2.5mil, no time restrictions), one converter can convert an ATO into one of a different random set, or if you get two of the same brute ATO then for three converters you can convert within the same set (so you'll get a different brute ATO). Again, packs will probably give you lots of reward merits for doing this.

Another tip is, if you have an ATO that's selling for way less than 20mil, convert it and hope it becomes a more valuable one.

As mentioned above, if you use a Catalyst on an ATO, you can't put it on the market or trade it, but you can still email it to yourself (not to others), and you can still use converters on it.

Another thing to keep in mind is that on Beta, there's a new set of ATOs for each AT, presumeably for the next set of Super Boosters. When you use converters on ATOs on Beta, it's possible to switch between the new and old sets. It's worth holding your leftover ATOs until those packs come out, so you can get some new ATOs for a few converters, instead of shelling out more cash.

Ahh, I get it. I think.

That was going to be my next question when I could remember to ask, was about those those enhancement converters and the catalysts.

Nice. That will help out alot, thanks.

Catalysts will make your ATOs into a Superior version. However, when you do this, they will be bound to your account and can no longer be sold.

Converters can be used to convert IO/ATO enhancements. There are different categories of conversions, and they all take a different amount of converters.

If you want to convert an enhancement to another one within the same set, it will cost you 3 converters.

If you want to convert an enhancement to another within the same category (from one healing set to another healing set, etc.), it will cost you 2 converters.

If you want to convert an enhancement to another withing the same rarity (rare to rare for example, category and set will be random), it will cost you 1 converter.

You can purchase converters with R-Merits, A-Merits, and E-Merits. They also drop from mobs.

Don't buy the superpacks for the ATOs, they are cheap on the market and with converters you can get what you want relatively easy. I have one toon with all his market slots filled with stacks of ten of the lower priced ATOs waiting to be converted when the next round of ATOs come out, plus 2 base bins filled with the current ones.

Put in low bids and wait, convert, and win.

Personally I love the superpacks for everything else that is in them, you may not think you will use them but you do. Having backup stacks of self and teammate rezzes siting in my mail ready to be used by any of my toons is great, team inspirations help on trials that look iffy for final success, merits, catalysts, boosters, it's wonderful.
